VirtualBox may have changed since this video. I don't see a 'vboxconfig' file in the /sbin folder. I had to actually create a signing key and sign the 'vboxdrv' kernel module file in the folder for my kernel, so that I didn't have to give up Secure Boot. I'm running version 6.1.48 under an Ubuntu distro (Linux Lite).
Hi, I have the same problem, but tells me to install the linux kernel "header"files matching the current kernel for adding new hardware support to the system. how to solve it?
Hi, my sudo /sbin/vboxconfig result: "This system is currently not set up to build kernel modules. Please install the Linux kernel "header" files matching the current kernel" when I try to install it using "sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-headers-$(uname -r) virtualbox-dkms dkms" it says "E: Package 'linux-headers-5.15.0-41-generic' has no installation candidate" any ideas? thanks!
Gracias por su ayuda, funciono a la perfeccion. Llevaba casi 5 horas intentanto solucionar el problema, incluso reinstale linux, no crei que fuera algo tan simple. Ty
for some reason i don't have /sbin/vboxconfig, when i try to run the command it just says "sudo: /sbin/vboxconfig: command not found" I am using Manjaro, I'm still getting the same exact error you got here on ubuntu though
Sir, my laptop series is ASUS X85F running with Ubuntu OS. So what’s the matter is that there is no update for my BIOS for my series to turn on the virtualization(though I have installed the latest update of BIOS which is 2014th released from ASUS global website). Is there any way to run virtualization for my device(I’ve already installed all the required packages for virtualization in terminal)? If yes, could you please explain it?
Thanks for helping out. Ive been struggling with the error for quite some time now. I did so much research and nothing worked from there! Luckily, i found the right guy.
I got this error after not using Virtualbox for a while. Every time I tried doing what it said it returned 'command not found'. Then I remembered that a few months ago I switched to the 'linux-zen' kernel for something and never switched back, which I guessed was the cause of this. Once I reinstalled the 'linux' kernel it ran without any problems. Hope this also solves the problem for somebody out there.
Im on chrome and for me it said please install Linux kernel so i tried but it said E: Unable to locate package Linux E: Unable to locate the package kernel. They have to be header files matching the current files

Thank you for sharing. As a Note, I had to turn OFF secure boot on my BIOS for this to work.
I appreciate your contribution Mark! It's always helpful to hear about any solutions when trying to get things to work
if u turn off secure boot then the error automatically goes away

How to solve /bin/ virtualbox config command not found in Ubuntu terminal
What terminal emulation did you use to execute these commands?
el loco penca, interactúa solo con los que le agradecen, y los que le dicen que apareció otro error, no los pesca jajajaaj
i am on debian 12 and running that file as root tells to manually sign the secure boot key which i did not do cuz i had no idea what it actually means
