Hawkins was my home junior and senior year. Had a single just like that, on the 13th floor, facing east. It was high enough that I could see the horizon over rawls; personal view of the sunrise every morning. I also took the bolts off the window so I could open it all the way if I wanted to. Had a purple mini fridge, small rice cooker (I'm also korean), and microwave. I was friends with my RA so he let me get away with all sorts of shit lol. One of my favorite rooms is the piano/music room in the basement. Would spend hours down there with my guitar, play piano, and jam out.
I loved hawkins so much :,-) I wanted to go on a higher floor but was afraid of the elevator taking forever lmao, but I bet the view was amazing. I'm jealous you had a rice cooker, I just got my first one ever last week hahaha. My floor wasn't cool so I never socialized with anyone on the floor but being friends with your RA must've been awesome! I do miss the piano too :/
Hawkins is the best residence hall at Purdue (I stayed at Hawkins in my last two years at Purdue). First year at Hawkins, I lived in a double in the corner of the hall, and shared a bathroom with the guy next door (both of which were on the 4th floor). Second year at Hawkins, got a single room. Needless to say, it was great. Definitely better than the closets at Cary Quad (I lived in Cary for three years, before switching to Hawkins).
Hey! Really specific question but are the command hooks sticking to the wall? I know in other residence halls for some reason they just don't stick bc the walls are bumpy etc. Also, that sun/light catcher is such a good idea!
Yes! They did stick! The only time I had an issue was that my tapestry fell, but it was because my command strips were not strong enough so I had to buy a different kind (the velcro). It really depends on the wall texture but I didn’t have any issues! And yes I love the suncatcher!! It really brightened up my room
I don’t remember but I believe they alternated? Odd floors were female, even were male. They may have changed it since when I was there though so I’m not sure!
Hi, your video is so so helpful! I was wondering if there were any outlets underneath the desk rather than ontop? Thank you so much!
