As someone who started with traktor and eventually worked his way up to using cdjs I really want to be proficient in all vinyl mixing. It's so much fun and djing in it's purest form.
That’s what annoys me about dj’s these days. You see by their body movements they have zero sense of rhythm. They can’t even count out their bars. They couldn’t mix two records at 50 bpm. Yet technology makes it so they get a half decent mix.

How does not being an analog dj make you less of a dj? Does using digital cameras make a photographer less good at what he does? I agree with the fact that there is an elevated beauty in old school mixing, just how much tactile the whole thing is, but that doesn’t mean digital djs are shit.

I love the real techno from detroit. The technosound from the Europeans are different. When you here the real detroit techno, you can that real techno is blackmusic, techno from the usa has that special groove. I'm from europe and i love my European heros like neil landstrumm, sven väth, brixton, cristian vogel, interference unit moebius, beverly hills 808303 and more but the best techno comes from the usa middlewest, chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee

I love this set, in the 90s he was so often in south germany. The best Jeff Mills Live Party was the solar eclipse Party in 2008 in Stuttgart Prag. God damn it was that nice, ~30 hours in the Mix with Sven Väth. I will never forget this day. (y)

Will never cease to amaze me that across 2 party’s, Melbourne Australia on the biggest party night of any of our lifetimes we had Mills,CJ Boland, Derrick May, Luke Slater, Oliver Lieb, Space DJz, Groove Armada (in the small room no less) and so many more all in little old Melbourne
bought the 📀 dvd when i was 19-20 and watched it a lot of times together with my father.
Now iam 36 and i can really understand the deep of this mix and realize that i understand techno in that way. i almost collected every vinyl from Axis, 6277 , tomorrow and Purpose Maker. very proud.

From a 46 yr old from Detroit who listened to the Wizard spin every Sunday at midnight on WJLB, went to every party from Toronto to Detroit that he spun at, he is a true TECHNO DJ....not EDM(WTF) really? That is such a disparaging statement, as he would be offended. EDM is a mainstream term referring to any tom, dick, or harry who bought a mixer and a set of decks, and read a you tube tutorial on how to sample....notice how I didn't say Technic 1200's, because a true Techno DJ such as Mills or Hawtin, didnt mess with anything but pressed vinyl baby. Once you've seen Mills spin for 4 straight hours in a cornfield in Windsor, ON on 4 1200's with like 10 crates of vinyl with him...where Plastikman(Ritchie) had to pull the plug on mills equip as he would not stop, he was in such a groove, and still to this day, I've never seen anything like it...but once Rich started, he killed it for like 4 hours as well. I just don't understand how the music, which is classified as Techno, House, Trance, Jungle, Miami Bass, Chicago House(heavy brass and some vocals), Cali House(Heavy Vocals, more poppy) just to name a few. Today's youth has no appreciation for where this music came from or how it arrived. Today everyone's happy if a DJ takes a top 40 pop hit, drop a breakbeat behind it, builds up a drop, and auto-fades it, with no skill, and they call that spinning. Do some research, and please stop calling every DJ in this space an EDM DJ. PLEASE.

Had heart palpitations from most likely Afib and I’m pretty sure the combination of cardio exercise and these Jeff Mills full sets on TH-cam prevented severe decline in my health. Use one of those modern versions of an elliptical machine - turn the incline up to 12 and the resistance up to 14 and get into lock-step with this music. Your life will improve. Endorphins are the pathway out of alcoholism. Peace

Jeff Mills was the Killer, in the 90s he was one of the best 2-3 live DJ`s, only Sven Väth was maybe better. When you see him working on three turntables your going totaly crazy. At least that was the case in the 90s and 2000. :-) :-) Lately, I don't like the party scene anymore. The people have become so weird and the sound commercial. :-( :-(

Clubs...that is the whole problem....this music is supposed to be heard, dancing your ass off in front of a wall of speakers, that literally wiped the sweat off your head as the bass was pushing so hard, in the best place for a PARTY ever....where you ask...The Packard Automobile Plant in Detroit, MI. Dark, dingy, mysterious, and completely BACON free, as it was private land, and they couldnt touch any of us, ALL NIGHT/any NIGHT. While private security maintained a good love and positive vibe. If you missed those days, I'm sorry, as this is truly was heaven.
The odd bit of wobbly pitch change almost sounds like a production value. Otherworldly music. It would be great to have a film about the bio machines of the body going about their day to a Jeff mills sound track.
