I find it astonishing that you so generously experiment in front of this “live studio audience,” as it were, with so many variables at play. I so admire how you respond to comments with grace, which encourages your audience to participate. I apologize that sometimes I run off in high spirits with my comments, in sheer enjoyment of your presenting. Many, many thanks. I find you a true professional.
I’m not big on collage but you chose exactly the right bright red to bring these prints alive. It’s so helpful and so soothing to watch you at work.
You create such lovely effects -- thank you for your demos -- they are wonderful!
Love the metallic marker lines. I’m watching all of the videos I missed and loving every one of them!!!! The music, your dialogue, and the artwork are all so great!
❤
You did it again… rescued a fabulous print and a great ghost… you know exactly what do.. well done 🤩
Thanks!
The first print is like an industrial winter's day. The second print is like a sunny summer day. Both very nice. 🎨💕
JUST SPECTACULAR!!! ❤️🙏❤️
Your artistry is fantastic! And you love Jazz, too! ❤️❤️
I know!! I love his taste in music as well!!
Amazing demo today. Loved how you progressed with the dark indigo background to such an interesting print.
The second one is awesome!
Love the colors. It’s so much fun to watch your brain work!!
Kathy
Two more gorgeous prints! I think the ghost print is my favorite, but bravo to the person who challenged you to use indigo. It's stunning.
“You ain’t never been blue…no, no, no …You ain’t never been blue…”
🎶 🎵 🎼 ❤❤
The special mention brings a blush.
Perhaps the darkness of indigo keeps it from being mainstream, but it did look lovely as a solid with the shimmering lines.
Thanks for giving it a try and battling it out to lift the print into the light.
I am happy to see this video precisely because I am just beginning to try ideas, & got “stuck” recently by using a darker color. I find watching Fulton’s color strategies an invaluable source of ideas…so I’m thankful to you for suggesting the indigo. TY!
I enjoy your work ,very informative,!
What a wonderful process.
I've watched about a dozen of your videos now. I've learnt a lot, and your are has inspired me greatly. Today's session was amazing. The fluidity of the Sharpie lines gave me goosebumps.
Two of my favorites that I have watched lately. You rock!
The first print worked out very nicely, and the ghost is lovely too. The dark colours worked beautifully with the metallics, I think there is a sort of sophistication in the colours that is very pleasing.
Thanks Lindy! Glad you like them.
❤❤ this suggestion you made. Fulton had great results-as usual!
Ohhh !! I absolutely LOVED the "mood indigo" before the collage was added ......
You should hear my intake of breath and my "No, nooo !" Quite stressful at times !!
Lol! Eventually you will overcome your collagophobia!
Oh no I love collage !!
Just sometimes it can be too soon, and a purer piece without it.
Same here. I actually preferred them w/o collage, and I love collage too. Beautiful work in any case.
the indigo and and the ghost print go well together. i love deep blue and metallics
I like the metallic markers with indigo.
Beautiful prints. I like the ghost print very much
The first print turned out a real stunner. I do like all your work but this one was a winner for me ❤
Thank you for your videos. I am beginning to understand better how to do these
Love the ghost print!
masterful! I especially think you more than salvaged the indigo print.
It’s so awesome that you are using materials that are non traditional
Lovely. I loved seeing the progression and I hope that I learn the techniques to work on my own pieces. Thanks
Awesome Blue one!!!
That dark blue color was so beautiful! And those stripes really made it "chique" Thanks for sharing, hope to see more prints with the indigo-blue!
Glorious! One of my favourite pieces of your art, love it!>
I feel the same about ghosties!
Beautiful! Love it.
I love the background music in your videos.
Thanks so much!
Both pieces are stunning and live together nicely. Your surfaces dazzle here and they make the eye dance, ArtWhisperer88, lovely job! 😁
Thanks so much!
Wow! Really wonderful!
I was too hasty. The first print with the added collage is amazing. Bravo.
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
I find with larger paper I turn it upside down and peel away the gel plate instead of pulling the paper makes it much easier and little chance of tearing the paper. Just a tip that helps😊
The yellow ghost print looks fabulous from the beginning. Both great at the end. Beautiful art!
Thanks so much Maria!
Very nice!
This is my FAVORITE color! I use it in almost all paintings and/ or collage. This is awesome!! Marsha
Thank you! Cheers!
You TOTALLY inspire me!
Two more great prints - bravo! I love the evolution of the Indigo print. The end result was just fabulous - very moody, I'd even say evocative! I absolutely love the dark blues against the metallics.
My fave!!!!
Very good!!!!!
Love it!
Excellent! I love your compositions.
Thanks so much!
C.est très beau !
WOW!!!
Both are stunning! Thanks for sharing your process‼️
Fabulous Fulton. Love both prints. The horizontal marks against the indigo was spectacular. I hope you use this again sometime. I love the tension and the saves. 🙏
Amazing 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks 🤗
So amazing ....thank you
Thank you too!
Thanks!
Awesome!! ❤😍😍😍
Thanks 😄
You are amazing! I love the colors and the flow of both. Thanks for sharing.
Isla. nice technique/
Both of these are great but the second one is wonderful.
You inspire me!
💖🙏
Wow!!!!!
They both turned out beautifully. I prefer the ghost print, though, as I am more drawn to that colorway. I do love the addition of the collage elements on the indigo print.
thanks Cyndi!
I too LOVE COPPER! This was fun to watch…..Thanks you for sharing…..How do I upload paintings when you have your open call? ❤
please send pics to fulton@fultonartdesign.com with your full name, city and country
Lovely job on the layers - particularly like the delicate overall pattern of lines as the first layer. Have you ever thought of using for a pickup instead of the raw sienna, a blend of burnt sienna and white or raw umber and white?
You mean this? www.dickblick.com/items/blickrylic-student-acrylics-burnt-sienna-pint/ Yes, will be my next try! Thanks for watching!
I tend to use Titanium Buff Deep from Amsterdam a lot for pick-ups or Deep Turquoise. Probably any of the opaque colors work well.
Cool prints! Sad to see the tear, but nice fix. You could try pulling paper up from the bottom edge.
I make it a point to show shop mishaps to be realistic. Thanks for watching!
Could you show us how you attach your "registration bar" to the stationary table? I really like how these work to keep the paper in the same space for the layers to be aligned properly.

Do you water down the raw Sienna paint? I am just so amazed at how that picks up those ghost prints. What is your thought when you go to add the collage? I love how it's not a scene stealer, but that it just seems to pull everything together. When using up the last drops of paint in your tubes or bottles, have you usually watered them down a little, or do you just let the paint go? Thank you so much for your gentle and interesting videos. You are a good teacher.
The raw sienna Blickcrylic is straight out of the bottle. It is a student grade paint so I guess it has a lot of extenders which make it a bit watery, but the bonus is it picks up ghost prints well. Another viewer suggested that I cut open the tubes and scrape all the last drops instead of watering them down. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing your experience. The results of your adventurous art is so lovely !!
May I ask a question : How do you align your paper to you gel press on your working table? 😊 Merci 🙏
please watch th-cam.com/video/Kykxbhcducw/w-d-xo.html
Gorgeous!! Which plastic sheeting do you use to make your renewable stencils please??
Please watch th-cam.com/video/t77h2CKLnZY/w-d-xo.html
I like them both really well before you added your collage.
I like them better after! 😎
lovely work! Can I ask what you feel about the uneven edges of the final print. They do give the prints a more individual, handmade feel I think. as opposed to prints run through a press. Do you frame them with the wide white borders as they are?
Thanks for pointing that out! I really don't mind the ragged edges, but I could wipe the edges of the plate with a moist rag before the next layers to avoid that. I like to float the image in a shadow box at times, or use a white museum mat with a 1/2 inch border from the image all around. Please see th-cam.com/video/gGeV2D3tOG8/w-d-xo.html
@@artwhisperer88 thanks. I watched this and see what you mean. The more I look, the more I appreciate the edges as they are. I agree, I do love shadowbox framing myself but all your framings looked good.
I’ve never seen this kind of art before I found it interesting and enjoyable.
Do you frame the paper ?
Yes, please check out my installation th-cam.com/video/gGeV2D3tOG8/w-d-xo.html
PS
I like today’s prints better without collage. Just my taste
Kathy
Sadly my Sharpie marks didn’t lift completely like yours. Most marks stayed :( Any idea why? Thank you so much for your wonderful videos.
Hi Lindy, did you apply acrylic over the Sharpie marks and wait 5 minutes? It is the paint that does the transfer work. Keep experimenting, you'll get it.
Thank you! I didn't wait ... I'll try again xx
Do you use soft body or liquid acrylic? My Geli plates do not hold onto the paint. The paint separates into an interesting a streaky bubble like pattern.
depending on the effects you want you can experiment with more viscous paint or watery paint. The soft body clings to the plate better, the watery paint makes a |acey pattern.
Do you feel Somerset paper is superior to Stonehenge? I just priced Somerset and it is so pricey in Canada. I love your printmaking work and I’m hooked on your TH-cam videos. Thanks.
@@dolorescooper5943 yes $$uperior but co$tly! I love it though. 😸
Could I ask which size Gelli Plate are you using. I'm really enjoying watching all your great videos and your voice is so relaxing to listen to.
Hi Lenny, it's a 16 inch by 20 inch from dickblick.com. It is the largest size on the market so far. If they make a larger one I would spring for it!
Thanks so much. I thought it may have been. So far I haven't been able to find it in stock anywhere here in Australia. But we eventually catch up. Thanks again. I'm literally watching one of you videos as I type. I really enjoyed these prints. Anything with indigo will catch my attention. 😊
Bonjour , merci pour votre partage ,comment vous nettoyez votre Gelli plate , les sharpies ne laissent pas de traces ?
Je nettoie souvent la plaque avec de l'huile pour bébé. Merci d'avoir regardé!
Hi, what did you use to glue the bright bits of paper to the front of the print?
Mod Podge Matte glue and sealer
I hear that your plate is sticky. What do you do to stop that?
the gelli plate needs to be conditioned with mineral oil regularly to control the stickiness. Please watch th-cam.com/video/6OUfwbU6xO0/w-d-xo.html
Indigo dyes come from fermented plant and urine. It creates a very permanent dark blue. Indigo dye was originally used for making denim blue.
There are synthetic colors now that attempt to create the beautiful blue of the original indigo.
Nice print.
Thanks for the info! I wasn't too impressed with the indigo which i used, I'm sure there are more intense blue pigments out there.
Fascinating
