i've been binging your videos for the past week or so. i started my own loc journey with two strand twists about 1,5 month ago, so every tip i can get is welcome
I found you on Instagram and I love love love your hair! You are one of a few people who have inspired me to go on my loc journey. I started my own using the two strand twist method and was wondering if I could still go to a loctician for retwist?
Comb coils worked for me. Did two strand's twice hated the outcome my locs were different sizes in the worse way. Comb coils not so bad different sizes but it's that bad. I didn't bud at all I wore wigs first month after a while scarfs locs wouldn't fit under wigs even at 6 months and short. I'm a year in so far good. Only con is my nape I have a weak nape I'm finding ways to deal. I learned I can't extend my retwist 4 months anymore. I would wait longer and now have to go once a month or twice. 4mo my locs start moving out the root. I learned my lesson for the second and final time. My loctician is my heart she got me together worth the wait and install first set $120 and I spend $60 now for retwist.

I just did this one!! Love them!! 💕💕🥰🥰 my hair curly (stretched)was to my bra strap.. and it did shorten up to above my shoulders so I feel like I’ll still get the experience/journey of growing it out.
Tara Faye you’ll go through a journey alright because the locs are not mature they will actually still budd and puff up and get mad frizzy because they may have the look of locs earlier but they aren’t mature so you have to go through through a whole process
I use Murray's loc-lock gel. NOT the Murray's beeswax, the loc-lock gel. Its water based. It's such a watery consistency, I questioned how well it'd work, but it's a good hold. I use raw African black soap (that I melt in hot water) mixed with coconut and tea tree oil to shampoo my hair (a lot of ppl don't take well to coconut oil. I do but if you don't, whatever oil works for you just add to the mix). I believe most ppl with locs don't use conditioner. Most conditioners contain detangling agents that can be problematic to the locking process. I'd tell you to stick just to shampoo. I spray my hair with rose water and seal with coconut oil to keep it moisturized. Good luck finding what works best for you. Hope this helps!

I’m 4 months locd and struggling with products and build up What do you use to wash condition and retwist your locs ?
