Defending a leaked viral video of him smiling in front of his father's portrait, Lok Janshakti Party's leader Chirag Paswan explained why he was shooting videos from home as part of election campaign in Bihar. "I was shooting daily from home because I couldn't leave my house for 10 days as part of customs. What option did I have? My father (Ram Vilas Paswan) left us at a time when campaigning was at its peak, but that doesn't mean I stopped doing party work," Paswan said in a video message posted on his Twitter account. The LJP chief has alleged that the video was leaked by Nitish Kumar when the LJP leader was filming a message on his party's manifesto for the polls.

There is nothing wrong in that video. Should he have just cried at home instead of preparing for the elections?Can't he have some light hearted moments with his colleagues? If you are shooting a video, of course there will be cuts retakes. Shouldn't judge him on the basis of 1 minute video.
Is there a rule that you can't use your father's portrait for any video? His father had just died. He is fighting for the party his father built. By shooting infront of the portrait he is putting both his father and his representation for the party.

I support him, I agree it’s very low of politicians to do this stuff, using sympathy, but I guess each and every politician has done this kind of thing atleast once in their life. Questioning on whether he is hurt by demise of his own DNA, his father is low of Nitish Kumar too. He’s atleast honest to be frank with us and accept he did it for the campaign, everyone was pressurising him, and person himself also feels pressure if their and their father’s legacy gets affected by it. I’m sure his father would’ve wanted the same, would’ve understood this being a politician himself.
