Just installed a new setup in my grandas old sugar cabin. Boiled last night, I love it but the weather hasn't been very good in upstate NY. I just hope my kids have the chance to walk to the same sugar bush as I could with their kids and repeat the process. My generation would not have had the opportunity without my grandparents insanely hard work. I just hope to come close to their awesomeness.

This is something we would see on an old 16mm projector in elementary school back in the early 70's.

    Hi.
First of all this reminds me off the time I won't ever forget. Lots of work.
The young child "drivng" the hourses made me think of me back in the day.
Raised in North Wolcott. Our familey made a lot of sugar.
Sold the Fancy too flatlanders. Lol. Kept the A and B for us and friends.

This video is much older production than the other videos on how to make Maple Syrup but had extra information that the other ones did not mention, for example, the temperature has to go above freezing for the sap to run and sunny days with cold nights cause the tree sap to run more consistently. The weather and temperature effects were mentioned several times along with the fact that Maple Trees vary widely on how much sap comes from them and the sugar content of each tree varies, some Maple Tree Orchards are high producers. This was a good down home video, enjoyed.

My hobby is Doll house miniatures and I will be building a Vermont farmhouse in the near future and this is great research for my project because I hope to also build a
small sugar house/barn and have maple trees with the buckets to get a close miniature reproduction of the life up in Vermont.👍
    as I can
    /to go with the house

I swear this video looks as though it was filmed at my friend, George Cook's, sugarbush.
Sugar on snow.....boy that makes me nostalgic.

Spring break in Vermont. When the temperature rises to a balmy 25F!

Well, it has to get close to freezing to allow the sap to run.

I was told an Indian threw a tomahawk into a maple tree and tasted the water that ran out. Rest is history

sugar on snow is something we did when I was a kid growing up in Hartland, Vermont.. the pickles are a palate cleanser, kinda like wasabi for sushi..

That's in every single state not just Vermont. Once the CIA took over the media and the white house the largest drug cartel in the world was born. All backed by the US military and you.
