Hey all! Since I see various comments that ask "where are X or Y, they had many hits!", I feel I gotta clarify: I DID NOT pick these songs, I simply set and checked all the Eurochart Hot 100 charts between 1990 til the end of 1999 and built this video based on the success of each dance song that charted there. It took me 2 months to build this list. The Eurochart Hot 100 by Music & Media magazine calculated the charts of 16 European countries, including the 3 biggest markets: UK, Germany & France. The video is just reflecting what was the most successful dance song of each month according to the European charts.

Soundtrack of my generation! I graduated high school in 1991, studied at university 92-94, then entered the workforce in 95...joined the rave scene in 96, then moved abroad in 2000. All of these songs were right in the zeitgeist of those formative clubbing years of mine. I remember almost all of them. The funny thing is, I still hear some of these tracks played in the clubs even to this day (yes I'm 50 now but still visit a nightclub every now and then). It's wild knowing that tracks like Pump Up The Jam, What Is Love, Boom Boom Boom and Rhythm Of The Night are still burning up dancefloors around the world 30 years later and younger generations love them just as much as we did the 1st time around.
I was born 1988 and grew up in the 90s. Fortunately I experienced the eurodance era even though I was very young. Nevertheless I have a really really strong nostalgia which goes back to the years 1994-1996 which is in my opinion the peak of eurodance. I couldn't really enjoy the music back then, I thought music is always like that. Wrong haha. Nowadays I listen almost only to eurodance and italodance songs. It makes me sad when I watch such compilations because I feel the energy and the colors and the spirit of freedom etc. which has disappeared nowadays....90s decade is in my opinion the best of the best in human history. Totally underrated. 80s as well but I prefer the 90s. Also the 90s movies were in my opinion much better.
We didn't exactly "miss out". We still got the cream of the crop. KLF, Corona's "Rhythm of the Night", Cher's "Believe", Snap, Haddaway, Faithless, etc etc. Euro disco was big in dance clubs here in L.A. but the records rarely crossed over to the pop chart, Cher's track and "Blue" being notable exceptions. I was very much into Faithless in particular.
