- Plateau-speaking tribes (eg. Koro, Yeskwa, Eggon etc)
- Idoma-speaking tribes (eg. Alago)
- Gbayi and related tribes (eg. Gade)
- West Chadic-speaking tribes (eg. Kofyar, Gwandara, Goemai etc)
