Small Correction Please: For children the age limit is 18 years. If continue education after 18 Yrs they continue enjoying Free Passes to the extent they continue studies. For this a Study Certificate from the Recognised Education Institute is necessarily be produced. Pass Holder s for 2 A/C Class can also take one Servant in II Class / II Sleeper Class free; further they can carry their One Pet Animal such as Dog/Cat etc., in Train Guard's Break Van for which there is provision in the Break Van. The Guard should provide water for drinking to such Pet Animal carried. Water Piping arrangement is there in the Break Van for this purpose. Female children continue free passes even after 18 Yrs age until they are unmarried without age restrictions. One more information: There is one more Type of Free Pass is there in Indian Railways by name "COMPLIMENTARY PASS" and EMERGENCY DUTY PASS (EDP).

You missed out most imp points.. As my father is a railway employee of CLW Er..
I make it clear.. Pass rules depend on grade of pay..
1. 4800 grade pay only gets First Ac pass , 6 sets per yr.
2. 4600,4200 grade pay gets 2 tier AC pass, which is bascially JE, CA,SM,TA etc.
3. Rest upto 2800 grade pay non ac pass..
But if you join directly at gazz rank you get 6 sets bronze pass..
Else all upto 5 yrs - 1 set pass..
Most important facility of railways is defence like medical facility, i think. Pass is not so important..

However the grade pay system does not exists after 7th pay. Thus I have conveyed pass rules based on 7th pay levels.
And all the information is as per latest railway board guidelines issued in 2019.

@@Rajesh-yi4jh All of the railway employee group D, group C gets One AC 3 tier pass every year, but with that you cannot ride premium trains like Rajdhani , Duronto. It's only valid for mail, exp.
But if you join from gp 4200 it's coveted . You get Ac two tier pass valid for all trains, you get AC pto, you get deluxe type holiday homes for vacation what not.
So in railways , if you want to enjoy all the facilities you need to work hard and get enlisted into Rrb je, ntpc SM, CA .

Only once you can travel between stations mentioned. Ek pass pe one time travel hota hai from source to destination. Further pass is not exhausted until tickets are taken.

It is prepared by Sr.DOM or DOM...As it is totally dependent on geographical condition of station...It can be modified by Station Manager/Station supervisor as per the staff convenience(to reach office timely)..It is mentioned in SWR(station working Rules).

sir mere OBC AJMER s 96.04 marks h, PET clear ho chuka h but mene form bharte samay post preference m asst pointsman ko sabse upar dal diya, mujhe us time eye test k bare m thik se pata nahi tha. mujhe post preference change karni h, otherwise mujhe joining nahi mil payegi .ab m kya karu PLS koi tarika bataye.

No you can avail anytime. Suppose your eligibility is three sets pass, you can get all three together. There is no issue.

Actually one set like I said is when one moves from Kamyakumari to Dibrugarh back to Kanyakumari. He can stay at any stations in between for any time depending upon the validity of pass.
This is only till 5 years of service. After that 3 sets. Also you have PTO to travel.

This is Indian Railways and over and above this is India. Rules are framed to be followed. But they are flouted at many places.
Please first correct yourself and complain about wrongdoings in Twitter and other forums. Social media can solve most of the issues.
@@RailwayA2Z I do agree and yes I agreed for the rules but why some TTEs don't put dates for short trips and some do put dates. And some even take bribe. Too much double standard in TTEs. But thanks for your concern regarding my comment.
