Thanks for watching, guys! One of the biggest comments seems to be about me using the word "ocean" instead of "sea."
When I was in school, I was taught that there is no differentiation between an "ocean" or a "sea." I'm not sure if elsewhere in the U.S. people are taught that there is a difference. But I grew up being taught that the words were interchangeable. Hope this explains things and calms people down.

Have been here a few times since 2010 and no matter where I go I still think about this place and talk to all travelers alike about this place and the people I have inspired to go there tell me the same thing! It really my favorite place and if you explore your options for accommodation you can find some really affordable places that are right on the red sea coast! DAHABIBI!

I traveled to Dahab three times in 2017 (spent a week each time) and I still wanna go again. What I actually love the most about it is that it's laid back and doesn't have tons of people like other places, its one of a kind; it makes you feel like you are not pressured or rushed and you feel truly connected to everything around you, unlike the city life. I still didn't go to everywhere I intended to *(Wadi El Weshwash, Blue Lagoon, Ras Shitan, Saint Cathrine's Mountian, sleeping overnight in Abu Ghaloum's huts, scuba diving in three pools or blue hole, etc.)* but, this place is so down to earth, simple, it really is home for a peaceful soul, AND I still want to go back to Dahab, seeing just the word DAHAB, makes me crave being there so bad, and I just can't get over its beauty and vibe

You're so spot on with your description. Dahab is easily one of the most peaceful and beautiful places to be. You absolutely have to visit those places you mentioned. They're all special and adventurous in their very own way.

I have never been to Dahab even though I am from Egypt, but of course the way you presented it is just amazing and fall in love with the city right away! Glad to know that there’s still beautiful eyes can see beautiful things in the world (since all I have heard about Dahab so far was just a heavan place for weed)

I recommend you go: **Siwa, -Marsa Allam (to swim with dolphins), -Fayoum (Wadi Al Rayan, Wadi AL Hitan), -Cairo Tower, -Black and White desert. -Mahmya -Art galleries in Zamalek, -ALEXANDRIA** AND DON'T FORGET TO GO TO DAHAB AGAIN IT'S TRUE PARADISE, I was excpeting a night shot of the clear sky with all the galaxy and shooting stars, Star gazing is always my favorite thing to do in Dahab

Back in 2012 when i was made redundant, i went to Dahab for an entire month, rented my own 1 bedroom apartment which was absolutely immaculate, had an amazing time.
Having been to Luxor many times, Sharm & Marsa Alam, Dahab has to be my favorite of them all.

there is everything in Matrouh same like dahab or sharm but you need to choice the correct place you gonna stay on Marsa matrouh located in the northern coast [ White Sea ] if you like Greece beaches you'll enjoy in Marsa there is night club / party's / plenty of good places like

salt cave كهف الملح
then you will go to Siwa [ place near to Libyan boarders ] and enjoy the amazig life they are not greedy bastards like those in sharm
but to be honest there is no tourists in Marsa Matrouh [ there is two coasts city's starting with the word marsa [ marsa matrouh / marsa alam ] anything you imagine you will find it in matrouh the Bedouins of matrouh are really unique they will do anything to make you come again
there is other good places as well [ marina 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 5 - 6 - 7 ] 150km before marsa matrouh but its closed city's you need to reserve before you go

Hi, first of all, I'm a huge fan of yours. I'm currently studying Arabic, and my plans are to go to Egypt and get my Masters in Arabic. I'm going to Egypt on June 2018, and Dahab is NOW (Thanks to you) on my list of cities to visit. If I stay for 2 days in Dahab, how much should i budget in for the stay, food, transportation in and out, snorkelling and all the fun stuff, and the rest ? THANK YOU SO MUCH for your videos. I look forward to more of your videos, and your reply. Sukran!
Two days in Sinai's East coast is a crime. You need at least a week there to get any kind of experience. There are other things to do around Dahab. Saint Catherine mountain+monastery for example, staying a night or two in one of the Eco-camps around Nuweiba, snorkling in so many places.... It's such a chill place, I've never had a more relaxing/rejuvenating vacation anywhere else in the world. I think 30-40 USD a day could be good estimate. There are some more expensive activities, intro dives for example around 50-60 dollars, but hotels are cheap, food is cheap and hotels can get you a bargain deal on transport sometimes.
I think it would be pretty cheap but I have an advice for you, the prices are different for the Egyptians and tourists. you should get to know some locals as they would buy you all the tickets, food, drinks, etc with the original price. if you are traveling to Dahab from Cairo on a bus, it would be around 5 to 10 dollars. your stay there would depend on how long are you planning to stay and in which hotel. some range between 10 dollars a night (sometimes cheaper) to fancy luxurious villa directly on the beach. the food is quite inexpensive you would be shocked with its prices and other things that you would need money for like snorkeling, safari, and so on. I believe that if you paid in dollars it would be preferable you would even get discounts for it sometimes and things would be easier for you. BTW I am Egyptian and if you needed any help just send a message anytime
Hey Gionathan, I'm so glad to hear about your upcoming adventure! As others seem to have pointed out, I would really recommend more time in Dahab than 2 days. There is so much to do there! And, you have to take a chill day relaxing in cafes all day, staring at the ocean and eating amazing food. :D
I'm filming a video about average costs of travel and stay in Egypt (uploading it Sunday!). I would say that I spent about $30 a day average in Dahab ($10 a night for my hotel, $10 a day on food, $10 on tours and outings). And my overnight bus from Cairo to Dahab was 150 Egyptian pounds.

FYI Egypt is generally safe. only some minor terrorist attacks in north Sinai, and it's under control btw
touristic places are all safe in south Sinai and every other place in Egypt
Egypt is now ranked safer than the UK and US, there is only trouble in northern Sinai.

We were in Dahab in the early 90s,again not many people were there, we stayed at a campground on the outskirts which was about ! english pound a night, great food,cafes & as mentioned Diving. we planned a 3-4 day stay as we were travelling around the Mediterranean for 4 months but stayed 2 weeks ,including Mt Sinai etc,love to go back..keep up the good work..great memories

I have been to dahab and it's AMAZING.i stayed there for five days and I hope one day I will visit it again

to tourists only . to egyptians that's pretty expensive
WELL, if an Egyptain make a living with 200$ a month, prices should be pretty low. Matter is: Most of Egyptians don't get these 200$ a month, it's usually less?
That's why it's expensive for them, cheap for tourists
