    This is one of the best 24h races I have ever watched!! The GTLM class, especially, had me glued to the screens - and I had 3 going with different cars. I'll be open and say I was rooting for the Ford GT #66 team. But man, the Risi Competizione team and their Ferrari were just fantastic. They showed a level of tenacity, hard work and just plain talent that was unmatched by many of the much larger and better funded competition. Glad to see them on the podium as they well deserved to be.
    What a race! Thanks IMSA!

      I Love racing always, but I have to say, the B.O.P. sucks the life out of imsa

      None of that would have happened without it

      Yeah,the corvette overtaking them all several times in the pit only to lose it all on the track where it counts the most....No podium finish for the corvettes but did you see how the #66 Ford GT pulled away from all others in the last few laps of the race.

    The block at 8:09:08 absolutely ridiculous and beyond unsportsmanlike. I understand that his teammate was trying to help #5 out, but that was the most blatant, disrespectful block I've ever witnessed in one of these races.

    • @takenoprisoners6604
      @takenoprisoners6604 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      "No, no, no.....no, no, no" lol. Also pretty ridiculous was the 5 car swerving right before the green. Everyone does this when getting new tires but not when its seconds from taking the green. I was watching this live on fox sports and their commentators thought that moment was pretty unsportsmanlike also.

      @morganbrittain304 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Nate Franklin Because of that block, I feel like Taylor had the right to be more aggressive than what might be considered fair. Good job on the race officials. Now I just want a Mazda to win

    • @seitengewehr98
      @seitengewehr98 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really believe that Taylor was fairly alongside Albuquerque, and he tried to close the door, but it was too late. Albuquerque also seemed to have intentionally braked early at that corner, and when he moved over and made contact with Taylor, it was before the point where one, driving a normal racing line, would have been aiming for the apex of that corner. So I agree, race officials made the right call. And I also would love to see Mazda win at least one too. I enjoy these races, but I would really like to see a bit more technology in the area of engines from these IMSA prototypes instead of the fairly American standard big V8s.

    • @seitengewehr98
      @seitengewehr98 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It certainly was pretty bad, but if you want to see MUCH worse, check out the end of the 2011 24 Hours of LeMans, when a Peugeot LMP1 out of the race literally ran an Audi off the road to help his team mate.

      Peter Timowreef I disagree, that's just how it works, last year Atherton said if a driver does you wrong, you have the right to be forceful as long as it's within reason. If someone cuts you off or bumps body panels you have the right to bump them back, but you can't just dive-bomb them into the wall. I think it's a fair rule. It keeps things from getting outrageously over-political like in Formula 1.

    Will IMSA every consider full course yellow like in WEC? Or local yellows? The amount of safety cars (often caused by PC cars) is incredible.

      @Charmin0021 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What i dont like if there is a car in trouble they try to force a FC.

    • @MattHoffman333
      @MattHoffman333 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      At least PC class will be gone next year, so perhaps they won't have to, but I hope they try it they way they run FCY in WEC too just to get back to racing faster

    When will the broadcast from the GS and ST classes get uploaded? I was watching but the app wouldn't let me stay connected. And still no upload of the race that ACTUALLY interests me :'(

    • @MattHoffman333
      @MattHoffman333 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If i remember right, they run the CTC races on Fox Sports again like a week after the race happened, only after that does it get uploaded to IMSA's youtube. So it may be a while ):

    Okay IMSA, I am watching this series for the first time. I decided to start with 2017 to get myself familiar with this particular league before moving to the 2018/2019 live events. But there is one thing that bugs me beyond belief and it is the way you show the gap intervals. Why can't you do it so that the gap shown is between each individual car and not the leader? If there are four cars that are four laps behind the leader, I want to know the individual gaps between them xD WEC does it! I hope that the rest of the 2017 races and the 2018 races do this

    I think next year we should take out detroit and go back to barber motorsport park. Pirelli World challenge went there last year and it looked great. I would love to see imsa there. Hope someone sees this.

      yeah they should or maybe bring back Mid-Ohio because it was a bad idea to take that out and IndyCar races at Barber maybe should be a weekend with IndyCar and Sports Cars

    IMSA rules, race control and stewards are jokes in terms of international motorsport. Constantly making up cautions to back the field up and taking no action on drivers taking other competitors out to gain a spot. Jokes all of them...
