    THANK YOU for making this video! I've always been turned off by the almost cult-like attitude SOME people in the stacking community have towards silver, constantly claiming that it's about to shoot to the Moon! Silver, just like every other type of asset, is an investment, not a get rich quick scheme. If you're buying silver expecting it to go to a thousand dollars an ounce so you can pay off your mortgage, you're going to be very disappointed!

      Thanks my friend, I also felt the same when getting started and I think those people saying $100/Oz silver are irresponsible to tout off that in the way some of them do.

    Those who are on PM, constantly believe that;
    1. Gold and silver retains its value in any situation unless Sylar goes berserks and change all metal on earth into gold or silver.
    2. Silver are undervalued by the time of immemorial's average ratio of 15 to 1.
    3. Inflations do exists and eating our purchasing power on fiat system.
    4. Silver are industrial metal with no potent alternatives as of current technologies.
    5. Manipulations are in actions by the fiat system's players.
    6. PM are money where ever or when ever you might be.
    With those 6 basis points (maybe someone can add more), we can continue to predict these senarios;
    a. If dollar collapse, some other currencies will take on dollar position and provide any price of PM that they see fit, but, we are ready.
    b. If gold goes down, silver buys more gold, but, we are ready.
    c. If silver goes down, we know that we holds for long term and obviously we can buy more, but, that also, we are ready.
    d. If hyperinflation strike, we know that PM retain its value, once again, we are ready.
    e. If war happens, we know what item to bring with us if we ever need to get out of the country, but, we are ready.
    f. If resets happens, what being reset are fiat, no one can reset 1oz of gold to 1/2 oz, but, we are ready.
    g. If governments confiscate PM, we know what to do right?
    h. If doomsday happens, this one is simple, we all die. I hope we are ready with all our good deeds to bring as investments for afterlife.

      TBH with you, i play my wealth game in a block type portfolios.
      All my worth, i divided it in 2:3:3:2 blocks ratios. 2 part in PM, 3 part in cash, 3 part in land and 2 part in others such as rental, royalties, dividend etc.
      All my PM, i divided it in 2:6:2 blocks ratio with 2 part in gold, 6 part in GSR and 2 part in silver.
      when ratios goes extreme, i just play on GSR. means that my basis ratio is 50:1 on holding at hoarding type blocks. whenever the GSR goes below 50:1, i convert 25% of my 6 part blocks into gold, at below 40:1 i convert another 25%. at below 30:1 another 25% and finally at 20:1 completed all conversion.
      but, i still holds my 2 part blocks with 50:1 so that my silver still has spare if it goes to 10:1 and below.
      i hope you can see my strategy. lol

    What about Germany's Weimar Republic? I don't know about silver, but when they were experiencing hyperinflation, the buying power of gold shot through the roof. Also, how do you know that the US will retain it's hegemony? They are becoming more socialist by the day. In addition to this, China and other countries are moving off of the petro dollar, which may weaken the US dollar's power, and eventually it could lose it's position as the reserve currency.

      Dave Aid oh, I'm sure the economic collapse will occur. Our population has grown soft on free money created by taking advantage of other countries. We will get the economy we deserve. Things will be hard for a while but we'll get through it with our rights and constitution intact or no country at all. The population will suffer for a while, but we'll be stronger for it.

    I've been buying silver on the small scale, started out this year. Though I've collected coins since I was a child, I hadn't really thought about primarily investing in silver until a couple years ago. I have multiple reasons that drive me to have a stash. My children, my future and just how enjoyable it is. I think especially when you talk about government or currency, you'll get a few people with unrealistic ideas on the subject. But I do think it is a stable way to invest wealth. I'm very much into the more collector side of silver, I'd love to see you do a video on the Earth and Beyond coin series. I'm expecting my coin in the mail today lol. Thank you for the great videos!

    As a lifelong investor in silver my best advice to you and all those reading is that silver always drops in value when the economy is doing well . With that being said we can look back and see the economy has done nothing but go upward since 2011- 2012 and silver has done the exact opposite. So I would always continue to buy as the economy continues to go upward & since the economy always runs in Cycles it will eventually go back down !! when this happens investors flock to silver Bec it is seen as a safe Haven, this is especially good because demand for electronics that are reliant on Silver also continues to rise causing silver to rise drastically in times of economic downfall. Another piece of advice I would offer would be that buying the most shiny newest silver bars is also not the smartest thing to do because investors pay a hefty spot premium when doing so. It is always smartest to pay the lowest spot price you can because silver bullion will trade at Fair market value regardless of how shiny it is.

  • @rbodforss
    @rbodforss 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I completely agree. I would like to offer an additional reason why I think silver will not skyrocket. Silver is a far too valuable industrial metal, that is a key resource for things like electronics and solar panels etc. The world could not afford silver at 100 USD/ozt unless the dollar has gone south (in which case oil and other commodities also would skyrocket). The world economy would grind to a complete halt, and the proverbial s--- would hit all fans available.
    If you stack for a SHTF situation, I would argue that precious metals would not be of any practical value until after the dust has cleared. YMMV, and everyone is entitled to his/her opinioin, but prepping for an apocalyptic situation is, in my opinion, a different topic that there are other YT channels that focus on.
    My reasons for investing in PM is purely as a hedge against inflation, and because the stock market is insanely valued now compared to PM. Silver is looking very attractive right now, both compared to production cost and to gold, although I doubt that we will se any huge correction in the gold/silver ratio any time soon. My only reason for not going all-in in silver are the premiums and the VAT. In many countries in Europe the spread (courtesy of the VAT on silver for being an industrial metal) is more than 25%. I compare that to investment gold with a spread of around 7-10%. My silver holdings are my way of being "quids-in" if my analysis is flawed. Most of it consists of refined products that I value for their beauty and for their practical use (yes I own some pure bullion too, but they are not my bulk holdings). My personal bet is on gold for many reasons. Mainly because gold can be revalued without braking the world economy. Just my thoughts on the matter. Thanks for an awesome channel, and beautiful artwork.

      That's the right way to look at it. I doubt I will ever sell any of it. But who knows, may come in handy some day. Not a bad idea to be prepared more than most. And you can always give it away as gifts and pass it down to family. I wish I had figured out the silver-as-a-gift idea a long time ago, I've always been horrible at buying gifts for people. Silver is so easy. Get one for the giftee and one for myself and my collection grows slightly. If you have a little bit of expendable income then this is a great way to use it.
      As an investment though, there are much higher and more reliable returns than what silver can offer. Even if silver goes to $100 from here, that's meh. Good returns, not great, and the actual selling of it is a hassle. Don't buy it thinking it will make you a millionaire. It probably won't. The key is to get out of the USD and fiat currencies and into a diversified set of assets where some can at least hold their value in certain kinds of scenarios: preps (food/water/supplies), cryptocurrency, metals, stocks/bonds, and real estate. In that order.
      You never know, if there's a famine then freeze-dried bags of food will be the new gold and packs of Ramen noodles will be the new silver. One must consider all the scenarios.

    Current mining average is about 7 ounces of silver for one ounce of gold. So 80 to one by ratio would be 80/7=11 times or $17 x 11=$187 per ounce.Second reason is silver will run out of supply by as early as 2023. So the price has to rise.The only thing which will slow the rise would be people not using it because of high price and people scrapping silver objects.

    Great video. If silver were to return to it's kind of normal ratio to gold, it would increase by 60% (80% ratio divided by 50% ratio = 1.6) Multiply that by $17 (USD) and you get about $27 per oz. So, either gold has become more valuable than silver recently or silver is under priced. Either way, I think the markets are being manipulated.

  • @anonymoususer3496
    @anonymoususer3496 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The price does not matter, its the value. In a major deflation, $15 silver could be a lot of money or if stocks come way down and silver stays the same or goes up you are making gains against the stocks at which point you can sell your silver and buy other investments.

Sadly, I do believe there will be a major adjustment to the price within my lifetime. Governments can't possibly continue to run up debt with no recourse. It's based on how much currency is in circulation. $12T in circulation, $21T in debt.

    While the Comex is selling gold and silver they do not have in the futures market, it belies the obvious, which is that the US silver supply reserve has dropped by about 80% over the last twenty years or less. When supply and demand are corrected to what it is supposed to be relative to supply, Silver will shoot up like a rocket. It is just a matter of time before it becomes common knowledge that whether Gold or Silver, there will come a time when they will have to state that they do not have any deliverables in reserve. Two years ago this had already become a problem, especially when Germany asked to have its 300 Tons repatriated from the NY FED, which apparently it did not have.
    Not only that, but Silver miners can barely break even at the current price and will purposefully slow down exploration thus tightening an already low supply, thus forcing manufacturers to put down more per once to ensure that their supply remains steady relative to the demand for products which have silver as an integral part of their products.
    This guy comes off like a government shill, but is trying to hide it because of his Australian accent which gives the impression that he is an independent analyst instead of working for either the government or the banking cabal.

      Yeah it is, isn't it. I have no qualms in calling BS when I hear it. In giving you some credit about silver, when we have a SHTF scenario Silver will go down but I believe not for the reasons you stated in your video. Silver will only drop when our economies collapse thus cutting out most of the purchasing power of citizens wanting to buy products which have silver as part of their integral design. No demand for silver is the only thing that will force a price decline. The days of the Hunt Brothers trying to corner the market in silver can no longer be manipulated, which is, as I see it, the only way silver will drop. Yes it is bouncing all around over the last fiscal year, but not by the drop you implied in your video.

  • @dwingsworld2581
    @dwingsworld2581 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Very good points, but I will tell you that if the dollar collapses it will be from two things. First off, the debt that we have taken is so massive that countries flat out refuse to buy any more of it and from other countries like China and Russia choosing a new backer for oil. Its not that the US will let the dollar fall its that there will be no choice in the matter, which our poor debt driven policies may lead us too. Just my view and thanks for sharing!!

    You’re right about not getting rich but maintaining purchasing power in a hyperinflationary situation. What you didn’t take into account is that if nobody has any purchasing power in general then you would be able to pick up a lot of stuff at low prices relative to your purchasing power in silver. Mainly because people will be desperately feed their families and so it will be a giant fire sale. Especially if you’re holding silver and it’s increasing quickly VS fiat currency. It seems to me that people would be more likely to take it than cash. Even at a discount.

    Another thing that I would like to add is that it is complete speculation when people say silver will hit $100 an ounce. There will definitely be another run up and silver prices. No one knows how big that run-up will be or when it will take place, if everyone knew that we could all just quit our jobs and start investing in silver because we would know exactly when to buy and sell !! It's no different than the stock market, it has been proven that market timing even by professionals is nearly impossible. I'm not saying that it is nearly impossible to time the market correctly I am saying it is nearly impossible to time the market perfectly over and over during the course of a career. So to all those silver collectors and investors continue to buy while prices are low and we will all keep our fingers crossed that we see a big run-up in the near future

Gold went from $400 to over $1900 in the 2000's; basically 4 fold. Silver went from $4 to $50. What makes you think it won't happen again? Be sure not to misinform.

I find it very convenient that even though Gold and silver did spike up in the 70's and again in the 2000's, unlike the 70's though Gold and silver has since crashed in value since the 2000's. In 7 years they've both lost almost if not more than half the value they gained and they are STILL both declining slowly but steadily in value with only momentary spikes in price followed by eventual or immediate declines after. Please take your conspiratard as elsewhere. The world as we know it will literally be on fire before gold ever hit's $10,000

      Exactly. It can make you wealthy if you know when to sell on the once every 25 year run-ups but other than that...I think of it if money becomes really not trusted...an ounce of silver or silver dollar will surely buy you a few groceries or neighbors eggs or chicken or gas for your car. It becomes the default currency when not everyone has food or livestock to trade with.

    It will depend too on demand from the upcoming Full Reserve Payment /Monetary system, requiring 100% Gold /Silver backing. It defeats Greshams Law by putting retailers and customers inside the transaction fee system as a recipient of a percentage of the merchant fees. This is money previously banks and financial institutions have taken. Retailers are to be incentivised by merchant fee rebates of 0.33% and customers have personal sovereignty over their money by way of an immutable right to a yield on the money they are spending in PERPETUITY. A daily reward of 0.05% (5 Basis Points) at a money velocity of 30%, produces a 5.48% annual yield. Never before has there been a yield on PM's. Over time (20 years a 5% return with Silver at $16 would get you all your money back from your share of transaction fee income.At $32 this would drop to 10 years.) It remains to be seen if this currency will finally bring Comex Silver price suppression under control.

    Every year since 2011 it was said silver would be $100 an ounce, but it hasn't happened yet. I agree, it won't happen until something huge happens. The reason we have bubbles is because there is easy leverage in said bubble, whether it be housing, schooling, cars, etc. It's incredibly costly to use leverage for silver or gold. However, if banks start handing out easy money for metals, I believe it would shoot through the roof since broke people will use leverage for these things too. There's not a lot of people with a lot of money to invest anymore. I choose silver however because it's actually less costly than buying a house, and I see that I'm buying part of a house when I buy silver. Stocks are better since dividends cover cost of funds expenses, in which I prefer value index funds of developed nations.
    In short I liked this video, first one of yours I've listened to. Do you realize we are entering a currency crisis? Perfect storm for silver. It will take time, but $100 within 30 years is likely if not a lot sooner.

    this is all that matters inregard to silver price: will we continue to use fiat money or not?

    If Silver went to a $100 it would make a solar panel cost a $100 more! .62 of an ounce is used in manufacturing a solar panel. The government is subsidizing them so why not!

    I am not a financial advisor but sliver is going up six fold and I would rather put cash in a savings account at 1percent in a fiat currency. They call me numb as hell...

    Even though silver is still greatly undervalued, once you have more than you can physically carry, you might as well buy the dips in gold prices. If silver ever does get to £/$100 per oz and I can buy 15-20 acres of recreational riverside broadleaf woodland and meadow in the UK I will have (hopefully) acquired my utopia.

    Take the CME satellite dishes down in Illinois and NY/NJ which help in the daily manipulation of metals and watch how quickly the physical skyrockets.

    • @BackyardBullion
      @BackyardBullion  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK - this seems a little extreme!

    • @danreynolds4208

      That is a bit absurd, isn't it? So is the gross manipulation of gold and silver that goes on by the CME, Wallstreet, US government, Stabilization Fund, and Central banks from around the world.NO! Actually, the manipulation is even more absurd than my idea! By maneuvering something that they don't have or own in the first place.

    I don't believe it will happen soon, but there are several factors that will almost guarantee a big rise. Historic 12.1 ratio. There's no way Gold is going to do a big drop. Also Silver has many uses outside of Jewelry. It's been so undervalued for so long it's got to rise at some point. The high stock market can't last forever.

    Excellent video. My take on a lot of the predictions of imminent financial collapse carries an unspoken assumption of a gold or silver standard. It's a little like complaining at people playing Go because they're doing chess wrong.

    I agree with you. I really doubt it will reach $100 this year or any year soon. I believe it will rise again but not much. I'm in PM long term. So i will keep stacking and ride it out and wait for my number. Thanks for the video

    The Dollar has lost 95% of it's buying power in the last 100 years or so and is so worthless it is no longer backed by gold or silver as it once was. Silver has kept pace with other goods and commodities. Sure, it may be manipulated on the SLV and other paper markets but as things keep getting more expensive (i.e. a devaluing Dollar), REAL stores of wealth, silver, gold oil, food, land and real estate pretty much pace each other given a long enough timeline. It's not about getting rich, it's about keeping what you have...
