    I had a BIG puddle on the rear floor of the passenger side. The Nissan dealership wanted $495 for this job. Instead of a hand pump, I used a wet/dry vacuum to soak up the puddle... The rest of the tips in this video worked perfectly. Thank you.

      How did you clear out the plug once you got the drain tube disconnected, without using a hand pump?

    This is, by far, the most informative, straightforward and practical video I've seen on how to fix this problem! Thank you so much for posting and for showing the process thoroughly.
    Also- Thanks for the tips on sourcing the tools!

    Cleaning the port on the driver's side is definitely a pain - it's way up there and back roughly behind the fuse box for reference. You cant really see it, so need to do it by feel. Wear gloves as there's lots of sharp metal up there.

    What do you mean "under the floor of the driver's sde. I caannot find the plug or the hose. I raised the carpet but do not see those wires. Is it above the gas and break pedals?
    I raised the carpet halfway. But don't see that. Can you give a bit more info on how to find the driver's side plug and hose?

    Why don’t you show how you connected the handpump to the Altima drainage hoses? I would like to see that! I want to see HOW the hand pump connects to the hose

    • @kovid2190
      @kovid2190  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hand pump hose can be directly connected to drain hose molded valve which is key area of clog and is used to change direction. if you use the pump I gave in description which had right diameter hose. If you pump water after connecting and if there are small to medium clog will be removed .

    Use a shop vac to remove water from the floor board. Just wondering if forcing air into the top of the lines would work.

    What is the smaller hose use for?

    • @kovid2190
      @kovid2190  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is optional. You can inset into the drain holes at top ( near the moon roof) to push water from pump. If the clog is very light you might be able to unclog by pumping hot water. The pump comes with adapter to connect from big hose to small one.Hope this info helps.

    • @kovid2190

      Check front 2 drain ( left and right) if it drains properly? If the blockage is heavy then try to pore some hot water and see if that loosens the blockage (NOT melting hot)

    I cannot find the terminus of the rear drain when opening my trunk. I had to remove spare tire and pull things back but there is a massive styrofoam housing that I cannot remove and I presume the plug for the rear passenger is in there somehow.
    I wish you could share some better photos or time in your video while you located it.

    Thanks for the video...Did you remove the wind deflector on the sunroof ? Was it difficult ? Also, I have looked up under the dash behind the fuse box and it is really tight under there... Do you have any tips to get back there ? Thanks

    • @kovid2190
      @kovid2190  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Removing wind deflector is very easy but do it with caution as it might break if you apply too much force . Reaching the tube behind the fuse box - one tip I can suggest is slide the seat fully back which would give you good room. You might need to go under in little awkward angle to reach but it is doable. Hope that helps😊

      Just did that this morning myself. I then called a service person that evidently comes to me for leak fixes. He quoted me $300, and I made an appointment for Monday afternoon. As I started mulling it over, I ascertained there had to be others with similar issues since the leak pro told me Altimas have grommets / bassels made of hard plastic instead of rubber, thus requiring professional removal to declog all four hoses. I know zilch about cars; but I’m pretty dang good at research as well as puzzles. I spect I’m going to give it a try. It is currently raining; has been most of the week; and based on the meteorological models, we have as good a chance as any to be the next 1000yr flood lucky victim of the week.
      Be that as it may, any creative suggestions to thwart the water from further filling up my car while I gather supplies for my DIY attempt thanks to this mighty-fine tutorial? I have no carport/garage available, but I was hoping for an idea outside of messy tarp over the top…. Thanks in advance for any input. 😘✌🏼

      @bipcuds 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RedHotMother I was thinking that automotive masking tape (for painting) might be able to temporarily seal the sunroof, until you get a break in the rain. The tape isn't really designed to hold up to wet conditions, but it might prevent most rain from getting in. I am currently looking at a multi-day rain scenario, and still need to unclog the front drains with no garage to park in. The back drains were leaking water from the white plastic box the rear hoses connect at the back of the sunroof drainage tracks; I sealed those with silicone, and we'll see if that holds up.
