As a lover of grime since its inception and listened to the transition to drill, i think that the road stories mixed with the clever wordplay and fast flows of grime, is what would be the ultimate evolution. It wouldn't have made a worldwide impact, like grime if it wasn't fire and relatable to the intended audience. Rejecting a darker side and censoring it will only increase the growth rate, as with any music people find controversial. I think that drill will go back underground unless the flows are changed up in terms of speed and the lyrical ability the UK is famous for.
