Shu, would You try Poland? As it has much worse income then Germany, but would be interesting as option to compare for people from countries such as Croatia, Bulgaria or even Greece or Spain with polish rates.
House in SG is no joke, went to Japan for the 2nd time in August and surprised the items are so much more affordable. A plate of regular sushi in Sushiro is about 129 yen in JP, but in SG the same exact item in Sushiro is about S$2.20 excluding GST.
Thanks for the informative video. Where did you get the data for each country and state? Do they all come from the same source? I wanted to try making some comparisons of my own for other states in the US.
minor point, but the numbers don't seem to tally in the US/Japan comparison : average rent for each of the 4 states is less than USA average , even though New York, California and Florida must be three of the most expensive places to live (?)
I suggest you add information like average savings account interest rates. For countries like USA, NZ, AU, and UK at least, people should consider the land size of those average house prices. Because, not everyone would want to live in the extreme close quarters of the cities of Japan, or the work limits of rural Japan. Just a thought. Being an American living in Tokyo for 22 years now, there are always pros and cons in the details. but i definitely agree, anybody that might want a home in rural Japan should consider taking advantage of this extreme exchange rate situation. I like your channel a lot, you are doing a good job to get into details and explain things in a very easy to understand way.
$2600 for a 3 bedroom apt in Singapore is already a dream...right now rents for a 3bedroom starts from 3.5k up to 7k based on location of course. There is no stopping to price increases in Singapore as they are not controlled by the Gov
❤the last point - house in SG can be very expensive if you buy landed property which is a good class bungalow They can cost more than $10 m Singapore dollars The upper middle class can easily have 20 million dollars or more in assets alone such as shares and properties Not to mention the ultra wealthy who migrate to Singapore 🇸🇬
hyperinflation is a big reason for this also. The USG has poured massive amounts of "free" money into the economy since COVID. When more dollars are chasing the same amount or fewer amount of goods, retailers can only bring prices up. Simple laws of economics. Then at some point things have to even out.
Low bank interest rate/low priced houses=buy for rent. Fill your boots my son. Rural and suburban houses are a lot cheaper than urban. Plus there are many abandoned houses.
You know how much money Japanese people can make if they just put it in their heads that they should learn English and create their own service based business that serves English speakers like America, UK, Australia, etc? Get into marketing, recruiting, software development, sales, there are so many opportunities online now that all you need is some English fluency to speak and write emails for outreach. You can stay in your home country now and make dollars or euros, whichever one you want. The US specifically makes it easy for a foreigner to register an online business which gives you the ability to open a bank account to receive that country’s currency. Don’t get it twisted, it’s hard work, but so much easier than any other time in history AND it’s only hard because you make it hard. Consistency is key, good luck ✊🏼
Lol let me also say those numbers for Florida is extremely generous. Here in Tampa I’m paying a little over $7,000 a month just to live somewhat comfortably and that’s already becoming too expensive to be hear. When I tell people I’m relocating to another country maybe Japan or the UAE, they look at me crazy like I’m stupid. Go get a clue if you think leaving America or even relocating somewhere where you’re treated best is a dumb or crazy idea. America isn’t the answer of all problems folks
Yen can go to 160 even 200. Makes places like Osaka or Nara a bargain Dont need a car Train bus electric bike If u cash out a cheap house cook and grow food, Japan can be a great place to live for 3 to 6 months Looking at Pakistan Georgia Turkey Montenegro and Johor Bahru Malacca Bagui City Cuenca lots of alternatives but Japan is so cheap and so safe. Love the food.
Agreed. Why travel abroad, lol. Japan is so dope, lol. Just throw out the western food/culture worship and it will be perfect. I want to get to Japan, before their culture becomes non existent.
160 to 220 was 35 years ago, But the govt wont let it pass 150, unless inlfation is below 2% . They got 1Trillion dollar to back it up. Every forex analyst is expecting 130 by year end -2 months away.

Soon Japan will be the same as Japan in the 1950s and 1960s where everything you buy is made in Japan.
from New Zealand here, we are definitely over priced and way too expensive. Same income but yet prices are THAT much higher!!! somethings wrong
I'm planning on going to Japan next year for a few weeks. Thinking of buying yen now.
This is a good idea! How would one go about doing that? I am planning a 2 month long trip to Japan sometime next year.
@@tomhiddleston8848 I'm not sure. I started googling it and may start with inquiring at my bank. @Shu any ideas?
@@tomhiddleston8848It's super easy. Most banks will simply take money out of your checking account and mail you any foreign currency.

Why is tue average home price in Japan 200k when they have millions of empty homes? What am i missing?
Does the bootcamp course explain the best way to move currency from US to Japan for home purchases?
No, it doesn't. But some of our clients use Wise or Revolut.
In 10 years the stuff you buy at Walmart will have the label Made in Japan.
Fantastic vid/post of the comparisons; thanks.
Glad you liked it!

Thank you for sharing Shu! Great video! ✨😉👍

Wow, housing prices are out of control in all western countries.
$1 US = 365 YEN !, is actually better for Japan !. Do you remember the better days 🤔!.
Thank you very much bro!

I think they are wrong 10 trillion in debt Soon Debt to GDP 300% KEEP printing borrowing money = 200
I highly doubt it's going to go up to 130 by year end. If anything, it'll devalue even more hitting close to 160@@Cordycep1
The BOJ won’t allow the yen pass 150 to the USD!
The problem is the immigration system in Japan not allowing people to stay or retire there.
Economic system of Japan is not well maintained.
"weak" Nah, is bad saying weak specially comparing to the ones on the real low levels
Shu you almost convinced me to pack up and leave Texas. But I'd still be in the same boat. 😅 This is great information. Maybe in a few years.
Glad it was helpful!
Singapore car cost SGD$240,000 for Toyota Camry. Let’s compare it with a Toyota Camry in Japan. 😂
TH-cam: Cost of living comparison, Tokyo/London (Tokyo/Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Battambang...) Might suit ancient Brit.
I think I’m moving to Japan now…
Best of luck to you!
