The jack/mary story is fascinating, especially to see what the expectations of relationships were back then. I'm totally team Johnny here, Jack was emotionally abusive to his pregnant wife, abandoned (and presumably did not financially support) the child, red flags everywhere!
I can see how you'd feel that way. The only difference is that (I don't know how long you've watched) that they started the Mary and Jack relationship immediately and we got to see how much he loved her and how fearful he was of being inadequate, like pathologically! Maeve knew he was hiding from fear of loving and being depended on and so she pushed the outcome she knew would serve all. A rough story for sure!
I could never be with a man that treated me like Jack did Mary. I can only assume that this was okay in the 1970's because this would not occur in 2023. I like Ryan's Hope a great deal but this one is hard to swallow without him actually proving he wants to change.

Apparently, her pantyhose (UGH, I remember those!) got dirty from her shoes. Not the best look, agreed.
The dye from the insole stained her hose. Used to happen the first few times you wore a new pair of shoes.
