Thank you for posting an episode of "The Movie Game". I remember seeing this on KTLA when I was a child. I believe that it aired at noon.

Sharon Farrell, born Sharon Forsmoe in Sioux City in December of 1940. Her dad’s name was Darrel. She added an “l” to his name and changed the “D” to “F” to get her stage name.

Sonny Fox 1925-2021. He also hosted or guest-hosted a few other game shows, as well as a few "kiddie" shows, most notably "Wonderama" back in the early 1960's on what was then WNEW-Metromedia 5 in New York.

Hi Steve! I watched Sonny Fox while growing up in Connecticut. I once saw him in a parade in New Haven. I was around 8 and thought that he was so handsome.

NEPatriot -- this was probably one of the Thursday or Friday shows, taped late in the day after everybody'd had a few at lunch :-)

Probably Friday, given that the episode number is a multiple of 5.

Greer Garson! I just wached her last night on a movie with Ronald Colman, Harvest something.. I was so young and stupid at that time I didn't even know who she was. And what was I thinking with that hair? Lew Ayres played my father in a Ben Casey. I have worked with such wonderful, classic stars.Greer didn't seem to remember a lot...she was probably working and didn't have time to see all those movies. Catch up with me on FB Be my new friend! I never, ever thought I'd see footage of THE MOVIE GAME again. I was a teen contestant on the show when I was in high school. Sonny Fox and Army Archerd will still co-hosts then.

This show managed to get big name stars, despite it being a particularly low profile syndicated show. John Wayne appeared once even.

"The Movie Game" ran for three seasons (1969-72). Sonny Fox hosted the first season (1969-70) and Larry Blyden took the podium for the
last two (1970-72). I remembered Army Archerd.

I remember The Movie Game when it first debuted in the summer of 1969 on Channel 7 in new york with former Wonderama host Sonny Fox as emcee. The following season, Channel 9 picked up the show and fox was replaced by Larry Blyden who was a much better host. Johnny Gilbert was the announcer, coming from another syndicated show that he hosted Beat the Odds.
This was one of the few first run syndicated gamer shows to run more than one season. It ran for three. There were many stars who appeared, including Bob Hope, Mel Torme and Don Adams. Also appearing was co-host Army Archerd. Later in the run, he read the questions for a 90 second speed round that was one of the format changes in the Blyden era. another one I remember was the Film Clip round. It was great to see The Movie Game again.
