I like that you brought light to something many people here don't understand: food deserts. In many places, mostly inner city, there is just not a good supply of fresh foods. It contributes to many health issues, and people there are stuck with not many options... Great video! I hope you expand on this in the future ❤️
Towards the conclusion of watching the trailer, there is no harm of creating a garden for your children to use and grow their own vegetables especially when you are giving back to the community, however it will need some warrant so they can legally plant them in certain public areas. I have a pretty big backyard but unfortunately I watch dogs for a living and I'm pretty sure they would ruin any garden I tried setting up lol. What a kind hearted man he is, so giving!! While I understand that there are laws in place that we must abide by. What I don't understand is that in neighborhoods where people can barely afford to survive, the officials don't put forth much effort to maintain it. So it's disheartening when someone is penalized for doing something positive with it. Thanks for sharing this encouraging story.

I am not from the area I live now. What this gardener does is nice. Where I live the work would be more likely destroyed. not trying to hate here, but u do need permission from the city council to put gardens in a public area. u cant just go wherever u want and just build ur own thing in a public area. u need permission, the city owns the place after all so u cant just put whatever u want wherever u want.

The bad guy actually followed the protocols and had actual reasons. He got a complaint he warned the guy, he didn’t have a permit he told him what he did wrong, he gave him a chance he sent him a warning notice and then he did the last resort call the police. Others would’ve just called the police straight away without a thought but Theodore did what he did
I totally agree. Dhar always make the enforcers seem like the bad guy. John Winley is truly vandalizing property. There is McDonalds because economy needs it. Without it, more will starve.

My city where I live, has a program that has been put into place for the people of the city and surrounding neighborhoods of the city, to provide fruits and vegetables all throughout the city and neighborhoods in the city for free. Thousands of fruit trees and vegetables plants the city has placed. It's for food security of the citizens.

This makes me happy to see this, because I am a vegan. I live in Dallas, Texas and we have a farmer's market such as it is, but it has changed a lot. I just would love to have community gardens all over the city, but the problem is that most of the people here don't care about their communities which is a real shame.
also have to get through cities preventing you from doing stuff thats good for the community as well as re-teaching care and self-respect to struggling communities that are stuck in the mindset of "nobody cares about us anyway so why should we care about anything". ive seen too many times where people in struggling communities destroy something that was put there for them to enjoy, after all the effort that their town or city politicians put into getting a project off the ground, just because they are living so many generations into the aforementioned mindset of not caring, where their only mental outlets of being part of something bigger are to break and vandalize stuff.

Trust me you won’t regret it I have raspberry canes, strawberry plants, a mulberry tree and various vegetables that change slightly every season depending on what survived well in the garden

Just from watching their interactions in the video I don't think he's much of a stranger. Plus everyone in the neighborhood knows him and loves him so he's a good guy. And they'd know if something happened to the kids. Especially their mom.

I love how he was so about helping the children even learn about the importance of healthier foods options & teaching them about learning to grow fruits& veggies especially at young ages I think it's awesome idea ! Much respect! My kids love trying do that they even went over to one neighbor we had helped him with his they would get excited about it comes tell me about it it made me happy seeing that &them all excited to learn doing so .🕉️🙏😊♥️I think our children need learn things like this &to learn about giving as much as so many take .& environment issues etc to help others awareness to it more encouragement & involvement in these issues.its great for their learning & even be can become great future survival skills.

@SilkyMS, first of all, its not illegal as long as John wasn't profiting off of it. It's for the community. My city where I live, has a program that has been put into place for the people of the city and surrounding neighborhoods of the city, to provide fruits and vegetables all throughout the city and neighborhoods in the city for free. Thousands of fruit trees and vegetables plants the city has placed. It's for food security of the citizens.

This makes me happy to see this, because I am a vegan. I live in Dallas, Texas and we have a farmer's market such as it is, but it has changed a lot. I just would love to have community gardens all over the city, but the problem is that most of the people here don't care about their communities which is a real shame.
also have to get through cities preventing you from doing stuff thats good for the community as well as re-teaching care and self-respect to struggling communities that are stuck in the mindset of "nobody cares about us anyway so why should we care about anything". ive seen too many times where people in struggling communities destroy something that was put there for them to enjoy, after all the effort that their town or city politicians put into getting a project off the ground, just because they are living so many generations into the aforementioned mindset of not caring, where their only mental outlets of being part of something bigger are to break and vandalize stuff.
