People may not acknowledge how important this match actually was for SA. Not only had it been 9 years since they one in Twickenham, not only did they come back imperiously and win, not only did they lose the previous week after leading quite comfortabaly, but, had the Boks lost this match, Jake White would have been sacked, and just eleven months later, he helped them win the World Cup. Incedible how the attitude and performance of a team in a single match can change their destiny...
@azanianlion Yup! Awesome isn't it!? We used to pray before and after every match at school, and I didn't go to a Christian school or anything like that. It's just the way rugby is in SA. Under Peter de Villiers I can guarantee the current Bok team also gives thanks after every game.

Poignant moment: "This is all about winning the World Cup". Belief and unity was strong, and it carried them to 2007
@ucla4eva
That was Gert Smal, current Ireland forwards coach.

Aaahhh!! Back when SA had a half decent team.

And now we are playing world cup final this Saturday!
It touched me to see them pray to God. When God is for you who can be against you?
