- One Military Camp returns with the Early Access version of the game! We build our base from scratch, this time without the assistance of Sergeant Shoutypants, aka Sgt Hawkins, and I think we do a pretty good job!
Of course decoration is one of our most important goals and we get some lovely decor in place early on, with some fine flower beds lining up alongside a beautiful archway.
Of course we get all the other things in too, like residences, a barracks, storage, a canteen and the all important training buildings to allow our soldiers to hone their skills.
After a little bit of training we are ready to send our brave fighting folk out on their very first mission, to save the cabbages! Got to save those cabbages.
Soon enough we have some specialists ready for our next mission when we unexpectedly hear from an agent we thought was lost out in the field...

An evil maniac has conquered all territories in the region, except one. The world's last hope resides in an old military camp located in this peaceful land. Bring it back to its former glory, to recruit and train a brave group of fighters to push back the evil forces.
Face the challenge of building a military camp, keeping an eye on the resources and logistics. Place the buildings efficiently, hire the staff that will keep everything running and set up the training courses. Build defenses, because the enemy will send spies and drones to try to sabotage your camp.
Not only will you have to manage your recruits' training and your economy, but also their schedules, because this military camp doesn't rest! Take care of the maintenance of the buildings and the well-being of your rookies - don't let them get injured! Adapt to different biomes and research hundreds of technologies and upgrades for your camp.
Recruit the best candidates to join your forces. Although they will start out as mere privates, assign them a specialty based on their skills and turn them into elite specialists in a variety of classes. Who knows? Maybe the best will be able to teach your future recruits…
Put all those hours of hard training to work! Complete different missions to recover territory, gain resources and win the favor of the nearby populations. Balance your squad to be able to complete all the missions, as each one will require different specialties.
Play a campaign full of absurd humor and references to war movies. During your progress, you will rescue heroes that will give you special boosts for your camp. In addition, you will also be able to play at your leisure in the Sandbox mode, customizing the game to your liking by choosing the biome, challenges and starting conditions. Your camp, your rules!
Want to make your camp one of a kind? Choose your own anthem, customize the flags and signage and even record your own voice to cheer up your recruits through the PA system!

Build another barracks, recruit more people and get them specialize so you get enough people for timed mission. Also, when a soldier maxed out their skill, you can assigned them to train another skill to spread out their skills

Great fun with this one! Sergeant Hawkins (Julie: "Help me Sergeant Hawkins, you're my only hope!") is, of course, played by John Cleese. ("A pointed stick?!" Defending against a banana isn't good enough!) I don't know if you are familiar with an old American TV series called "Heroes" which had a consistent theme through the first season of "Save the cheerleader, save the world." (Don't ask, please.) Your first mission in this game is an obvious, at least to an American audience of a certain age, callback to that TV show.
It struck me that your glorious entryway into the camp was certainly the sort of thing one might expect at a military cemetery. The funereal arch (topped by lilies), flanked by the black columns topped with helmets, surrounded by flower beds. I mean, Arlington can almost compete.
Rather than putting your soldiers up in private houses (really intended for your auxiliary personnel like maintenace and culinary staff) you should just put up a second and third barracks for the soldiers. They expect that sort of thing and it helps build unit cohesion?
I remember the vids you made of the demo and I'm looking forward to more of this game in the future.

Oooh, so excited about this series (yes, I know I"m late to the party, lol). I've been holding off on watching the last few Project Hospital ones because I was sad it was almost over, but now there's this; yay!
It's been a fun series so far! Except the drones, you'll see how tedious they were when you get to that point!
This game looks like a lot of fun. Exactly the kind of game I've been looking for. I love base building games. Thanks for making these videos, they are very entertaining and show off the game really well. Kudos!

"Why are there so many sleepyhead recruits?" Because this is an ultra realistic game of the modern American military. Lots of duds and few real troops.
What makes a good soldier from a bad is knowing when to disobey orders

I watched another video of this game and that person didn't spend any time decorating or making the base look pretty. Why even bother building a military camp that way? :(

Lovely! It's not the wild west town we hoped for, but this looks quite fun!
The only time red seems to be worn by the good side in games is Elder Scrolls.
While the game does many things well, like I just noticed how the roof goes away when you mouse over and goes back up when you're further away, I'm a bit disappointed that almost no games have followed the lead of SimCity (which is 10 years ago now) using roads to transfer power and other utilities, removing all these ugly cables and pipes, and also that you can't just pick up a building and move it about.
Would it make sense to train 2 recruits up to 100 Intelligence and assign them to science? Do you actually get more science from people with more intelligence?

🤔I wish they'd made the area of effect more defined when in build mode. It looks like it would be easily missed as it is a very subtle pulse ring around the generating building and the affected buildings don't give good feedback if they're in range of an offending building type. 🤔It'd be frustrating to build up a beautiful layout only to realize that elements weren't working well together later on should one not pick up on it. 😵💫

Does this game have any depth? A lot of the steam reviews are saying it's painfully shallow in its current form and I'm not sure if it justifies the price even in the sale.

I didn't design the buildings! I did the layout of the buildings, I quite liked what we did with the layout. Nice and freeflowing, not all boxed and formulaic. A building over here, one over there, nice and natural, not in a big boring grid!
