  • Some volunteers went along to the La Stampa exhibition held in the RDS, next to the over 50's show, at the end of October. The fair hosts dealers, collectors and exhibitors looking to be selected as Ireland's entrant in to what is described as the 'Stamp Olympics'

Good for you. My name is David Barban. I started collecting stamps in France in 1972 (age 8) where I lived until the age of 16. I then went to the U.S.A. for 12 years (until 1992), collected there. My mother was born in Israel. I now live here since her death. I still collect at the age of 53. . I unfortunately don't have my firsts collections. I now live in Israel where I have 29 albums. I don't have scare stamps to show in exhibitions, but I do go buy and sell from time to time. Great video.. David Barban

I collect both, but it also depends which countries you are talking of. David

I do have a specialist collection of Australian stamps, there are scarce and very rare stamps in the collection where a few cost me $1750 each and nearly $3,000 for another, the majority of very scarce stamps I paid for range from $450-$875 each.

By the way, I now collect Hong-Kong and China. (whatever I can afford, but I do have some stamps of these countries. I started these collections in 1997.)
