- In NT Pod 106, I am in conversation with Dr Hugo Méndez, Associate Professor in Ancient Mediterranean Religions at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Our primary focus is on John's Gospel, and the "Johannine Community", but we also discuss Dr Méndez's new online course, with Bart Ehrman’s Biblical Studies Academy, The New Testament: Exploring the Christian Bible.

Almost an hour of Mark Goodacre and Hugo Méndez? Haven't been more excited for a podcast in a while.
So glad to hear a new NT pod. Love Mark and appreciate his work
Great interview, I really enjoyed listening to this.
Hugo is a great guest, Mark!
Agreed! We could have continued chatting all day.
What a treat. I would love to see this conversation continue after both of your forthcoming books on John come out. Any chance you'll get James Barker on NT Pod?
Great idea!
Half way through and feeling glad TH-cam brought this to my attention. Great podcast style Dr Goodacre. Really enjoyed listening to the relaxed but interesting conversation between you both. Look forward to hearing your other episodes. And hello from Oxford, UK!
Thanks, and send my love to Oxford!!
A quick question! I came across Richmond Latimer's translation of the New Testament in Oxfam thrift store. Googling about him, I thought it would be worth reading. I am enjoying it so far. Do you know this translation or that of Bentley Hart? Any thoughts?
Sorry I don't have anything authoritative to say on that! But I love the fact that you were shopping at the Oxfam thrift store! (Big Oxfam supporter here).
