I can relate to the frustrations!!!! I twirled in the 1980's for 6 years. I mastered the 4 spin, toss cartwheel, toss double illusion, fugymis (sp?), other rolls, two baton, etc. It's amazing what she's STILL able to do!!
Annetta (Ned) is a blast! i worked/played w/ her as her photographer for a few years (in Hawaii), she is not only talented, she is funny as hell, we used to laugh all the time, we went on some wild adventures together, all the while i was shooting, we had cops roll up on us (she was spinning fire), we had some dangerouse stunts we did, always looking for "the money shot" i miss her, she's a great gal!
WOW... Twirling has come a long way since the mid 70's when I was a Featured Twirler. I don't think I ever thought of even going past a four spin.... didn't think that was possible... Boy... was I wrong!! WONDERFUL to see all these twirling videos!! Makes me want to pick up my baton again. Enjoy it now girls while your young!!!!! :-) You're going to treasue the memories forever!!!!!
This is so cool! I honestly can’t believe a 9 spin is possible but I guess it is. I’m 11 years old and working on my 4 spin (it’s pretty hard to me). I hope I can be at her level one day but it will take a lot of work.
I had to come back and do an updated comment: I have picked up my baton again for exercise and therapy. I'm VERY out of shape and rusty, but it's been a wonderful stress reliever for me!

i use to watch her when i was younger when i did baton twirling, her and a few others were just mesmerizing to watch twirl. Definately the real deal and something to shoot for as a role model. I never realized until i watched this how much she has been through... being through a lot myself now that i'm an adult and still trying to be a twirler, there is a lot to be grateful for
lol... As a fellow twirler (15 years going strong!) I feel I can sort of chuckle at the montage at the end... in a sort of... "been there, done that" kind of way. I love her little dance at the very end too. YOU STILL ROCK MY SOCKS!

Just make sure you take a good push off at your first spin and make sure to wrap your arms tightly into your body, this makes your body aerodynamic and you can spin faster. don't forget to spot or you'll get dizzy.

We have a video up of my daughter getting very angry/frustrated while working on her tryout routine this year...its kind of funnny to watch...I named it something like "what happens when a majorette gets angry" haha...please check it out and comment if you would like to! One time we had a class with her (When i was 10 years old). At the class she told me that I was made to spin sooo I am trying to catch 7 turns but I am only 12 so I have time
OH yahh dont worry she was she was just dizzy and laughing the whole time saying "Im such a clutz!" Shes competing in Alberta for the Canadien Nationals. She didn't get any medals so far but shes doing really good (Y)
Annetta and I went to school together, I used to watch her practice in the gym she was mesmerizing to watch. She is truly a gifted athlete and artist.

IT TOOK ME 3 FREEKEING YEARS TO CATCH MY 6 SPIN I DIED WHEN I CAUGHT IT 4 the first time.
I felt that fail compilation at the end on a spiritual level... I can't even count how many times I've chucked my sticks across the room.

Keep on trying. Get the 2 spins so you can do .... 10 in a row .... (?). Then move on to the 3 spins. "You Can Do It" ! ! !

I’ve been twirling for 6 years and I only caught one three spin let alone a freaking 9 spin. This is Definitely something to work toward

So...she was born with so many diseases and shes had billions of injuries and she's still so cheerful? That's truly amazing.
