The GM has given Lianfang too much power. She doesn't even realize that she's putting her grandson in danger by trusting her. Lianfang thought that if she made Zhun sick and Lianfang saw her taking care of him...then he would see her in a new light. She overestimated herself yet again. She really thought she was going to get him to fall in love with her. He isn't his mother. He isn't blinded by status/he sees right through her. Her entire plan backfired. The GM is a detriment to her entire family. The way she tried to prevent Shiyi from helping Zhun is pathetic. She was willing to allow her own grandson to suffer in order to protect Lianfang's feelings. I'm so glad that Lingyi stepped in. He overruled his mother/allowed Shiyi to help his son. Lianfang lost. When he put Shiyi in charge of Zhun's care you could see the disappointment on both of their faces. They both thought they could use Zhun to get Lingyi to fall for Lianfang/it completely backfired.
Lowborn? Thats kind of harsh, she’s still the daughter of a well-off family despite being born from a concubine. I agree that she’s strong and witty though, esp since daughters of concubines are indeed considered lower than the daughters of legal wives.
