That was awesome of cummins. They make great equipment. That’s what I run in this freightliner. And thank you for being honest on the deal they gave you. No bullshit and that’s why I love you guys!
Where do you work? My dad was with Onan for 43 years in Fridley, MN and was VP of Research and Development. I grew up with the Onans, who were always great people to work for.
We LOVE boat work videos! It's not all crystal lagoons and partying like rockstars. I love this channel because it shows the cruising lifestyle... and all that it entails. Good Bad or Ugly!
Thanks Cummins for taking care of some great people! You will not find a more deserving people out there and thank you Delos crew for taking all of us along for a great adventure. Great video, Love the install. Be safe.
Originally I wrote, "I love the technical and boat stuff the most!", but your balance between stories, history, personalities, adventure, tourism, culture, etc doesn't suck at all! And SAILING!
That was very thoughtful of you guys to donate the old genset to the tech school, the bow thrusters are a big help backing down into a slip like that, it would be a hassle without it, I love watching your ocean sailing videos
I agree with what others have said, you have taken a task, equivalent of watching paint dry, and made watching the installation of a generator interesting and enjoyable. The sultry voice of Alex Blue @ 12:11...be still my heart. New narrator for Delos videos
Cheers to Cummins for setting you guys up with a solid discount! I love to see great companies supporting the little guy... Good luck on the new journey, I'm looking forward to new vids with the new crew!!
Onan is a great engine. I own 2 tractors, one Ingersol and one Case. They both have Onan 17hp engines. One is 32 years old !....and she runs like new. Quiet, strong engines. Changed the oil and filter as soon as it got dirty. But having a car oil filter, the oil stays clean longer. I am very happy with Onan products.Great choice. Matt.
Brian, what can I say you are an absolute genius, nothing seems to faze you, you make it look so easy. I've watched you & all the crew on your adventures, what a fantastic lifestyle it tops anything you could ever imagine doing for a day job. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Captain Brian is like a kid in a candy store. Men at work, rough and beat up hands, crane operating expertise, trusting others when you're in the bite...true harmony!
I'm all caught up now. I started watching a couple of months ago. Watched all you videos in order from the beginning. Couldn't stop watching until I got caught up. Now I'll have to wait for additional videos. I'm eager to see the rest in live time.God Bless Delos.
New Iron Genny. Glad to see Cummins step up. Once they see how the "Tribe" shows them love in return they'll be offering you a new engine. All the best to you guys.
Excellent work to all concerned, and to Cummings for supporting such a great mission, well done to all!!! 💪🏼🎉💥👍🏼 Was also really nice to see the full length version of this project, so thanks to all who made the effort to document this! 🙏🏻
Nice video, I think 50% of your subscribers are more interested in the How than the What. SV Delos the original and still the best Sailing vlog ever! Thanks
Onan is a great gen-set, and Cummins is a classic name in Diesel engines. Can't imagine they needed more publicity, but good for you guys that they cut you a GREAT discount. Obviously someone over there likes what you guys are doing--so it sounds like a win-win.
Love your gang's energy. Always so positive. Smiles all around. The joy you share always. I believe this is why people flock to you that are incredible with their hearts, mine's and enjoy that they share back with you. Looking forward to the next video. Love learning how you guys work on your boat. Smooth sailing with full sails and great sunset. Here's to the next great voyage and always beer!
As with all of your videos...very captivating, even if it's maintenance on your generator!! I am a maintenance electrician, so a video like this fits me like a glove! I really like the fact that the old gennie goes to a college to teach young students how to repair marine generators!! So awesome! Maybe one of those Marine Generator Technicians will work on your generator after a few more spins around the globe!!!!
Great video. The best part was Karin's technical explanation "it looks so pretty". I took delivery of my cat yesterday and I has a 9KW Onan installed. Never had one before so looking forward to using it. It has the exact same control panel which is great.
So nice, with the new Generator you guys are set. And you deserved a great deal for all the really fantastic work you've done to bring sailing, and people together and to us. Thanks and good luck!
Great video on the installation of your new genny. Cummins Power Generation North America is a short 15 miles from my house. I used to do some service work there. They have an awesome facility if you ever get the chance to tour it. It may take a passage through the Great Lakes and fresh water however;)
that was a very cool video. The cummins folks giving you a great discount and then taking the old one over to a school for the tradesmen to learn on is also pretty amazing really. I know they do this stuff for a living but really what did I think would happen to the old one? I had no idea. Thank you all for making this thing.
the boat repair videos show the not so nice side of this life style , I enjoyed it and will watch any more you have , I enjoyed watch you guys redo the rigging also
Great video, thanks for sharing. The new generator is really nice all self contained. We'll be looking forward to seeing y'all on the next video. Thanks again. Safe and smooth sailing.
You have reminded me of rebuilding my genny, the very same one you had. Great machine but i left the boat on the hard one summer and when i did launch and fired the genny the generation side was seized and blew apart. thankfully Fairline made it relatively easy to crane out when you remove the floor of the dinghy garage. In Canada it was $7500 just to rebuild the generation side and I did the re and re work. Enjoy your new half price genny, you deserve it and keep up the great vids
I'll stick with my 48 pound Honda 2000 generator thank you. Watching you guys squeeze into that engine compartment brings back bad memories of when I use to have a diesel engine on board. :) Still fun to watch the install though.
Christian John Michael Tambun Hello Christian, I support Delos on Patreon, if you do that you can often see videos one week earlier than on TH-cam. You can also also become a Delos patron here: www.patreon.com/svdelos
Bryan I like when you pretend you don’t know anything about the wiring....then describe the relay for the blower your wiring up. Oh and you do while making but making terminations. Your not exactly a electric tape and wing nut type of guy. That generator you took out looked clean too. You have got some skills man. Safe travels.
Yes, and some of those sailing couples have jumped straight to the deep end, spending all their own and borrowed money to a live-in yacht, with little or no experience in boats or sailing. We have seen the unfortunate results.
Another great video showing that sailing isn't all diving in pretty water and that you have to take care of the maintenance to keep your home going :) I'm just waiting for Toyota to work with Cummins on a diesel Tundra :)
Thanks brian and Delos crew for your lithium and amp hours video. I’ve been boating for 49 yrs.and never had it explained where I could understand it. We sail out of Sebastain Florida 30 mi south of Cape Canaveral. My wife and I have sailed throughout the Bahamas on our 34’ Catalina. We’re now looking to move up and hope to cross paths with you one day. If you ever find yourself’s in our area of Captain Hirams Resort the beers on us. Capt. Terry Wildey Big Easy Charters.
I RV with a 32 ft class C, had some trouble with my cummins generator, called and they came right out and under warranty, no cost. Equipment is great and service wonderful.
What a fantastic thing for those folks to do for Delos! One Half Off! Even better is that the old unit will be helping students learn from the old unit too! Loved seeing the crew in it's new shirts, but the girls did look a lot better than the lads did! I'm just saying......
Love the detail,Thanks. There must be yards all over the world ready to build Delos 2 full expedition 80' go anywhere boat. What a story it would be to see the planning and build of such a yacht. I would love to see you guys do the Polar regions.
I intend to go polar in the future, maybe 3-4 years from now. Johan from RAN Sailing did it in a 23 or 28 foot fibreglass boat off memory. I'm buying my yacht aluminium or steel next year (probably aluminium) but trips to high latitudes take a lot of planning and skill so I won't go there before I'm ready. Maybe start with smaller trips like South Georgia Island first. If you want to see some really diversified and interesting high latitude voyages check out Skip Novak (Pelagius), Roger Taylor (Ming Ming) and Ivan Stropnik who goes north in an inflatable catamaran and other unusual craft. Trevor Robertson is another one - he's the only person to have ever bunkered down in his yacht during both an Artic and Antarctic winter. He took food provisions to last him 500 days when he spent winter with his wife in Alaska, on a 35 foot yacht. All of these men are really interesting adventurers and excellent sailors and there is something to learn from each of them. If anyone knows of any other high latitude, polar region sailors please reply to this comment and let me know as I'm very interested in this area of sailing.
Hey looking at a gen set , ill be going with them , great service , great product. Had a straight 6 cummins in a yacht years ago, purred for years without a hitch.
I always like the videos where you work on the boat! Navigation and logistics is nice as well. Sailing and bikinis well ya can't go wrong there, either.
Thanks for the boat work video Captain Brian! I had to log on to make sure you know I love the work videos (I usually watch on the Apple TV app, so no thumbs up or comments). Looking forward to seeing you swing up the east cost of the USA so you can make your way up the Potomac river to DC. :)
I'm glad to know you guys are on your way to Brazil (or are there already?). As a Brazilian myself, I hope once you get there they will treat you well. And it will be good to see your perspective of Brazil, from our sailing community and others. It looks like you are going to Rio de Janeiro. If you go south, to Porto Aegre (which requires you navigate a lake), I will hook you up with a marina (although I don;t live there, I still have good connections with the sailing community there). But I understand, that is too far south (1,000 miles south of Rio). But who knows. And you may be in Brazil already anyway... Best wishes!
That is a great genset and also very expensive, so kudos to Cummins for cutting you a deal in exchange for the video. I want one of those Cummings shirts! :)
That was awesome of cummins. They make great equipment. That’s what I run in this freightliner.
And thank you for being honest on the deal they gave you. No bullshit and that’s why I love you guys!
Great Choice going with the Cummins Onan I am a second generation employ of Cummins. My dad worked for them for 38 years I am on my 17th year.
Where do you work? My dad was with Onan for 43 years in Fridley, MN and was VP of Research and Development. I grew up with the Onans, who were always great people to work for.
Cummins engines are very popular in Australia
We LOVE boat work videos! It's not all crystal lagoons and partying like rockstars. I love this channel because it shows the cruising lifestyle... and all that it entails. Good Bad or Ugly!
Thanks Cummins for taking care of some great people! You will not find a more deserving people out there and thank you Delos crew for taking all of us along for a great adventure. Great video, Love the install. Be safe.
Amazing how you guys made this fun to watch for something so mondain, I could have watched another 30 minutes without realising the time. Awesome.
Thanks Laurent!
Originally I wrote, "I love the technical and boat stuff the most!", but your balance between stories, history, personalities, adventure, tourism, culture, etc doesn't suck at all! And SAILING!
Sure it was an ad, but done with class. Keep the maintenance videos coming. The more geeky detail the better.
That was very thoughtful of you guys to donate the old genset to the tech school, the bow thrusters are a big help backing down into a slip like that, it would be a hassle without it, I love watching your ocean sailing videos
Nice to see that Onan still has such a great reputation. My dad was VP of Research and Development there and worked for D.W. and Bud for 43 years.
I agree with what others have said, you have taken a task, equivalent of watching paint dry, and made watching the installation of a generator interesting and enjoyable. The sultry voice of Alex Blue @ 12:11...be still my heart. New narrator for Delos videos
Thanks for posting, guys, and congrats on your new Genny. May she serve you well.
Fair winds.
Thanks buddy! We hope so too!
Cheers to Cummins for setting you guys up with a solid discount! I love to see great companies supporting the little guy... Good luck on the new journey, I'm looking forward to new vids with the new crew!!
The Delos crew provides another great tech upgrade video. There is an audience for boat maintenance content. Thanks.

Kudos to Cummings for pulling through with such a great deal for you guys.

Cummins is a great outfit. They make the best truck engines. Always go red!
I'm all caught up now. I started watching a couple of months ago. Watched all you videos in order from the beginning. Couldn't stop watching until I got caught up. Now I'll have to wait for additional videos. I'm eager to see the rest in live time.God Bless Delos.
17 years and 7000 hours! That quite an endorsement.
New Iron Genny. Glad to see Cummins step up. Once they see how the "Tribe" shows them love in return they'll be offering you a new engine. All the best to you guys.
Excellent work to all concerned, and to Cummings for supporting such a great mission, well done to all!!! 💪🏼🎉💥👍🏼
Was also really nice to see the full length version of this project, so thanks to all who made the effort to document this! 🙏🏻
Thank You Jesus, Thank You Commines, Blessings to you & yours. Rock Delos.
I love Cummins engines so much that i put one into my Ford F350! Cummins rocks!
Bryan from Vancouver
It pays to be big rock singers with Golden fingers ! Love the nuts and bolts videos
Thanks Cummings . I'll look for your products .

Yes, Cummins Onan are the gold standard in generators.
Thanks for supporting, Delos, Cummins company!
Boat repair are always amazing videos!
So glad you enjoyed! We wanted to show more of the work that we do on board and that was definitely a big job!
Nice video, I think 50% of your subscribers are more interested in the How than the What. SV Delos the original and still the best Sailing vlog ever! Thanks
A Big "Rock On" for Cummings.
It’s pretty rad that you are all able to get these experiences and share them with everyone
I was sold on Cummings Onan a long time ago, but this really reinforces my loyalty. Good Job!

The music when Brady changes his shirt. 😂😂😂
Thank you Onan for supporting good folks. I've just bought a 35' trawler and will need a generator. You guys get a serious look and a RFQ.

I am learning soooooooooooo much with this sequence of vlogs !! Thank you Delos and Brian !!
The videos are great! Watching this one because I have a Cummins generator! It rocks
Thank you Cummins!!!!!
Mid week delos updates?! And mechanical stuff?! My week just got a LOT better!
Great video on the installation of your new genny. Cummins Power Generation North America is a short 15 miles from my house. I used to do some service work there. how is your comment one week ago?
why did you talk about January when it is October now?

Liar! Your from the future. Or past? ;)
The Cummins will keep those electronics a hummin'

That is badass! I have a 8k welder gen set I want to install in a boat! Very happy to see it is possible !
Ive said it before and I'll say it again. By far the best channel on youtube! Much love!
That was nice....so sweet when a plan comes together! Guessing the guys a Amel were impressed...
So much more like the long play videos, you do it right!
I never realized how much wild life is going on around you in the back ground.
SV Delos crew, love you guys like crAeeZYyy! You're the absolute best!
There are like a zillion sailing couples copying these guys now. These guys are the original and the best.
Yes, and some of those sailing couples have jumped straight to the deep end, spending all their own and borrowed money to a live-in yacht, with little or no experience in boats or sailing. We have seen the unfortunate results.
Great Video! Love the boat work and extra love the Cummins sponsorship... Brady rocked that shirt. Cheers!
Nice a legendary Cummins that is bulletproof will last you guys a long time

Thanks
80' I been telling them they need a 120'! Just put like 50 to 60 cots inside. Dibs on top bunk!
Nate on Sylvia spent 3 weeks putting theirs in, Bryan is the master.
Love these videos, and you guys keep spreading positivity and love and good things will continue to come your way.
50% off, that's really nice of them.
Dang I was listening to all those birds when you were backing over to your slip... Congrats on the Genset
Loved it! I like seeing the boat repair stuff also.
Hey looking at a gen set , ill be going with them , great service , great product. Had a straight 6 cummins in a yacht years ago, purred for years without a hitch.

How do yo guys make it fun to watch a generator installation?
We make Mr Brady take his shirt off half way ;)
The magic words Cray Cray!
Haha...I know right?
I watched it twice ha... ha...ha..
Love the boat maintenance videos.
Love the opening panning shot, makes me feel like I'm there in the marina.

That is a great genset and also very expensive, so kudos to Cummins for cutting you a deal in exchange for the video. I want one of those Cummings shirts! :)
That is so cool they did that happy for you Guys
