- Today we're taking a look at how you can get access to Kling.AI, the remarkable AI Video Generator that many have called a Sora Killer. To date, the only issue is that you had to have a chinese mobile phone number to access it...

The irony of a Chinese filmmaking AI being just as good as OpenAI's, which you can't even use, and may not even be real... Things like these give you a true picture of the world.
Haha-- That irony is kind of insane. Through the grapevine, I have heard that China took Sora as a punch to the face. Basically, like the US landing on the moon first. Apparently, it's turned into a point of pride to beat Sora at this point.

Here is a great tip for you: in the screen where you download the clip if you click the Chinese word on the top right, you will go into a new screen where you can download in 4k and even edit the video before downloading it. It’s a great tool …I love kling! ;) cheers . Great video, like always.

@@TheoreticallyMedia it’s possible that when you move the slider to 4k you will get a message box (its not an error message, it just an alert message saying that sometimes the 4k the result may be not as good). Just move the sliders again and it will work fine. ;)
How do you compare kling to gen-3? Unfortunately, even after being one of the first testing runway since gen-1, I never got accepted to the creative partners until now, even after making many shorts with it and participating in their first ai festival. I will have to wait for the official launch. ;)

I just got a chinese phone n umber from one of the million online services (and it was free). then i registered with that number and waited a week for activation.

For sure faster than Luma. To my taste, it edges Luma out by a bit, but prompting is a bit challenging on account of the language barrier. Although, that also leads to some interesting results!

a cool trick i found to make ai videos look more realistic is to add some film grain to the generated videos. This makes it look more like it was shot with a real camera
Agreed! Always a fan of “beating up” AI footage. Also, Topaz. I mean, I know it’s expensive, but it is a real gamechanger. Check out that Monster Girl toward the end of the video

Do they cap generations?
@@HikingWithCooper I have done about 15 a day and there was not warning or generation counting I could see. Everything is in chinese, I take screenshots and feed them to ChatGPT to help me choose the relevant buttons. Their generation is also way faster than Luma AI's model.

This is so much better than… what was that one? Sora? That program is an antique before even being born.
Sora is basically going to look like Dall-E 1 by the time it releases.
Chinese software generally needs a phone to set up - it's due to government requirements and the ability of obtaining lots of info from the user. Don't get me wrong - Chinese people are no different to anyone else - but the government is another story. So I won't be trying this as there are way too many red flags but thanks for the great info

@@r3dl4k35 other than a list of your contacts, your phone number, GPS location, gps movements, contents of your folders, what apps you have installed, those are allot more that any US app will collect. Like I said, this is the norm for Chinese apps, they are forced to do the data collection, not blaming the people behind the apps.

Has anyone tried any animated or even video game stills with video generators and have any comments on how that's turned out?
OpenAI seems to be only dangling carrots in front of us nowadays.
Last year they were actually shipping what they were announcing...
Yet the Sora videos (cherry picked at that) were full of glaring errors. The woman walking had like rotating legs. The cherry blossom couple flew into the shot for some reason. The space guy was legit though.

Appreciate you going the extra mile for this one. Forgive me if you answered some of these questions already - is it totally free? Did you experience a limit in daily or monthly generations? How long on average did you wait for a generation to complete? I've seen people say Kling can do TWO MINUTE LONG generations, were you able to try that?
Free for now, since it’s in beta. I’m sure you know the drill! No cap on daily gens, it’s super fast. Like, a minute per gen: and it’ll extend out to 3 minute (though I haven’t gotten that far!)
Pro tip: if you need to translate to English on ios, do a screen grab (top volume button and power button), open the image in your photo roll and hit the icon of 3 lines with a dashed box and then select translate.
Haha, the way you explain and translate those complex Chinese interfaces is exactly like me when I study English apps, hahaha.

Oh FYI if you are on Mac M1 or higher you can download the Mobile apps on your desktop as a IOS simulation.
I hate to be basic but how did you or what did you use to capture your mobile. Or simulate your mobile??
Haha. Not basic at all! It’s the Apple thing using AirPlay I can stream my phone to my desktop, and then record the screen with OBS.
The one downside is, even with a 2 monitor setup, mobile takes both screens over. Supposedly in the next OS, you’ll be able to mirror your screen in a windows, and even interact with it via your mouse. Which will be really handy for tutorials!

Hi! When in your opinion will we get a workflow to create not just "tech demos/trailers" but TV show-style content where you can create consistent characters and locations?
Offhand-- less than a year. I think by this summer, you'll see it happening in a kitbash fashion. I'm pretty much ready to go, minus a solid lipsync that doesn't drift after 3 seconds. That should be coming really soon.

Kling AI is free and better than Gen-3
Amazing generations but I don’t find it useful as it exports at like 480p, completely useless when exporting to desktop. How do you upscale and keep the quality?
Just discovered that there is a button on the top right corner that allows for 4K outputs! And a full suite of editing tools! Insane.
I have access to Kling but when I try to do image to video with a full body photo, which is about 2:3 aspect ratio, based off the photo size because you can’t change the aspect ratio with image to video, unfortunately the video comes out so blurry. It’s not HD, it’s not even 720p. And the face comes out blurry af. So disappointing. 😪
Huh, I just get "This item isn't available in your country" for both those apps in the Android store for the US.
Odd. I was able to download both on the iOS store. I did click the link (down below) on desktop and the Play Store loaded up.
Maybe try desktop? Do Android Apps sync like that?
I get that regional message as well on my Android and desktop in the Google Play store, so I'm using my iPad.
Same message for Australia. I used the link in description because it's not in my Play Store.

Am I missing something? Play store just says not available in your country, I'm in the UK tried on phone which is set up for UK and tablet which is region set for Ukraine, tried on all 3 of my ISPs, tried multiple vpn connections including China, Taiwan and USA but Alas no luck. It's seems just like sora such treasures are not meant for peasants like us😭

Hey Tim are you not worried that the app might download nefarious spyware and data harvest your phone. I read that some Chinese apps do that?

Both apps keep saying unavailable in your region (usa) on the playstore (android) i was able to download an apk for kwaicut online and get it to work, but when i downloaded the apk for kwai, the app loaded and said "our app is unavailable in your region" 😢😢😢

Not the best judge on that since I signed up on day one, and then totally forgot I did it! When I went to try it out for this video, apparently I was already off the waitlist!

It's different you need Chinese kwaicut
Yeah. I think that version is a region locked one. I still can’t make heads or tails out of what countries allow it, and which don’t. Some in Canada can, some can’t. India is a blackout. Some in the UK can, but not all.
It’s a mess. Admittedly, I kind of knew that coming into the video, but wanted to at least give everyone a chance at getting it.
Should the sms come immediately? I entered my U.S. number and it seemed to accept but said there were 30-some thousand people ahead of me. I guess it’s not clear where the generated phone number should go…
If you got that number, you’re on the waitlist. I’m not sure you’ll get a text message (I never did) so check on the app after a few days to a week and see if it loads up!

Hi, I can't log in, the code never arrives, I have tried with several numbers from my country, and I have also tried with temporary numbers from other countries, but I can't register in Kuaishou.

Private, unless you hit the big red button that translates to Publish. That appears on the screen when you download

At first I was the same-- but oddly got into the whole Mobile aspect. Since I can be sitting on the couch and watching a movie and hitting generates. Plus, running errands and waiting in line has actually become something I look forward to! haha
It is a bit of a pain to dump footage back and forth, but-- eh, the results are worth it.
weird, the app has a fully translated and fully functional version for latin america, but it doesnt have the ai functions anywhere, and since i have logged in already no matter what i try it changes to the latin america version, im guessing i will need a new account
man, localized apps are so weird. I wonder if you could VPN from a different location as well.

Haha, best bet is to do what I did. Delete the app and forget about it. A month or so from now, think about trying to apply for it, only to realize you forgot you already did it!

Sadly didn't work for me (UK here) cannot get past the telephone number stage. The button to submit is greyed out and will not let me pass.

Try just pushing through. I never got a verification code (and a few others have mentioned the same) and they seem to have gotten through.

She's not just 'walking into shadow' she's walking down a bridge or into a tunnel, you can see the structure briefly enter frame on the top right corner. How impressive it creates a coherent world around her! I cannot see the app from current location, do anybody knows a fix to this?
That’s what I noticed as well. I thought it was glitching out them BAM! She’s entering a dark hall.
If you’re on ios, just type the search. It won’t auto fill since it’s in mandarin but when you hit search, it should be the 2nd result. Just match up the icon from this video.

oh, so I just put that in on Kwaicut. No idea why that worked. I didn't actually use Kyyle's method, other than just signing up to the mobile number-- but I presume they will either let you choose a name, or assign one to you. You might need to use a translator to get through that part.

I had a different xperience in Mexico. Actually we do have access to the app, but it is just another version. That do have the A.I. button but just with a lame photo to cartoon ai app. 😅

I downloaded the apk, the name is 快影, but I can't receive the SMS, these Chinese number sites didn't work for me, the SMS never arrives.

@@TheoreticallyMedia hmm maybe - it is German Telekom here. I just tried alternative Chinese App store which is pre-installed and all in Chinese as well and it is also not there. It is funny not be able to get it on such a Chinese device lol
