I like handguard only wish it was slanted like the original. What I like about the cz handguard is the slant and how it's filled in on the front. It's not just open like the HB one. Just looks better in my opinion. HB if your reading please make handguard just like cz one but mlok and aluminum. Thanks for sharing 👍
Installed this last night thanks to your video. A little bit of heat and elbow grease got the nut off easily. I used blue Loctite to reinstall the nut. Very sturdy and looks awesome! Much easier than I expected.
Such a great upgrade, especially for the money. I just removed mine because I did the micro conversion but the sapper is great. Also, for Scorpion owners, the shim spring available from Ascalon Arms that fixes the play between he upper and lower is excellent. I highly recommend it, it should be standard equipment
A little heat is totally acceptable and very helpful to remove the barrel but the first time. Doesn’t take much to make it much easier. Propane on the 1/2” thread protector for 15 seconds, off for 15, on for 15 etc. The barrel nut is only supposed to be tight enough to stop movement with the Pakse Sapper. I overtightened mine and noticed it was bulging the guard.
Thanks man! It is a really good quality handguard , so far so good, hopefully I’ll get out within the week and put some rounds down range, it’s my poor mans UMP 😂
Hahahah I watched this after I installed it and I had the exact same issue re installing the barrel nut. I got smart exactly like you did, RIGHT at the end
Went to school on you a little bit with the CZ factory thread locker. Took a nylon brush to the threads on the barrel and the barrel nut to clean it all out. Night and day difference trying to get it put back together.
Not sure if you’ll be able to help but I’ll ask anyway. How the heck do you get the barrel but off? Mine seems like it’s welded on. I have it in a vise and have used debonding liquid to try and reverse the thread lock they used I can’t get that barrel nut to let go. Any suggestions?
I just ordered mine i have the grey version...Read some reviews on how the hand guard makes the iron sights shoot low seeing if you noticed anything like that yet..Also the m-lok on the bottom is a little off somehow.....
Hey I called HB Industries yesterday, because of the common complaint of the handguard rail causing the weapon to shoot low and I was told the issues has been addressed and corrected by the manufacturer.
Looks nice and please don't call me Shirley 😆. I have a 🦂 & I just finished completely upgrading it, mine is grey. I have an aluminum hand guard that is black from Hb and I'm not sure if I want to change it out. I may do it just to what 8t looks like, I'm waiting for my barrel nut wrench to be del today from Hb. However, I do have a vice with rubber guards so, I'll give it a go in a day or two. Thanks for sharing the vid👍🏼
Sort of off subject, but don’t the sights block the view on your red dot? I just bought a red dot for mine and was thinking of taking the factory sights off, if necessary.
It doesn’t so much block the view as is helps co-witness both sights at the same time, so for up close the red dot is very easy to find and use where as when I’m shooting longer distances, 100yrds for fun, I just turn the dot off and use the irons, it seems to help me.
Ok gents, I been trying to get my lock nut off with no luck I have used Debonder for several days and the nut will turn a few times and then lock up and will not budge. Any suggestions?
Great question, it is recommended when re installing the barrel nut that a thread locker of some kind is use and 8 to 10 ft-lbs of torque is applied to the nut when tightening. If no torque wrench is available, you can tighten down as far as you can without excessive force, ( hb called it tighten by hand but that was not possible for me since mine had dried thread sealer all over the place) so I just tightened it down to tight then went a quarter of a turn more for good measure. Overnighting the barrel nut does not provide any advantages and can in fact cause more problems then it solves like deforming the handguard. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🤘
@NoblesTx I put the same Pakse handguard on my Scorpion. Is your handguard loose/wobbly around the muzzle end? Mine is very wobbly and yes I put the plastic washer on before the barrel nut.
I’ve got the same set up, I torqued it’s down tight where the metal ears on the sides barely wiggle, tight set up and looks much better than the slanted forend. I do notice that the Paske handguard sits a little higher than the stock, I can tell looking thru the sights, but I left my red dot on and zeroed so no issues there! Great video
@Nobletx it's been 3 months from the upload of the video. How is the handguard holding up so far, is it as sturdy as the OEM handguard? Worth the purchase or would you recommend the aluminum M-Lo k instead? I just purchased my scorpion on Sunday and I am considering the Sapper. Also, would you consider selling the barrel nut tool for the install?
No problem! I just happen to be right next to my phone when the notification came through, I’m going to keep my tool but I do suggest getting one if you plan on making the swap, it makes it 1,000 times easier! Thanks for watching man!
Get the HB Industries tool. It's less than $10. And a breaker bar. It'll really screw up the barrel nut without it. The thread lock is ridiculous! It's well worth the money.
@@NoblesTx i just took off whats on there and put it back on. I tightened it more with vice grips. Its mich better now. Just slight slight wiggle. Hardly noticeable now

I enjoyed listening to Dwight Yoakam explain how to put the hand guard on!
For those that have mechanic tools, a 13/16 spark plug socket will work perfectly as well.
Depends on your barrel nut

what gun case would fit with this type of handguard?

It's a nice show piece now seeing as how you didn't bother to put the charging handle back in.....
I swear I put it back :) haha
Night & Day difference! Looks nice man! I have the FDE version and have been thinking about doing this as well...

Why do you have .39 cent key rings hanging on the gun?
LMFAO

How did you know how much to tighten the barrel nut once you installed the Paske?

Torqued down good n tight
I over tightened mine and broke the piece of plastic that holds the washer in. Luckily hb industries is great and already put another in the mail
Just got a Sapper. Having a bear of a time with the barrel nut. Which direction does it unscrew?

Heat gun. Just used that this evening. You can use an AR15 wrench to stabilize it in a vice. Eventually it’ll slowly slide off
I would just take it to a gun smith. It won't cost much and you won't have to worry about messing it up!
Dumb question but here goes what (benefits) overall did you find using this Sapper
Kind of favors the stribog...much more my style! May have to take a second look at the cz. Thanks for the video!
The stribog with cz scorpion mag adapter. Cz mags are the best pistol caliber carbine/sub gun mags

Brady humm I haven’t noticed that with mine, seems odd.

So which is better the metal or polymer hand guard ?

I was wondering about sapper hand guard how did your sights line up I read reviews on hbi that it throws the sights off ????
@NoblesTx I put the same Pakse handguard on my Scorpion. Is your handguard loose/wobbly around the muzzle end? Mine is very wobbly and yes I put the plastic washer on before the barrel nut.
No, mine is nice and tight. Is it a possibility that the nut wasn’t tightened down all the way?

Have you noticed if the front of the PIC rail where the front sight attaches to is raised a bit?
You dont have a vice?
Cleaner look !! After market parts are great right !!
I’m just happy that most of the parts were a great value!
Is there any reason you didn’t install the charging handle in the new handguard?
I did, I just slid it in from the front if I remember correctly
Installed this handgaurd on my cz and having magwell wiggles now .. any issues with this with yours
No I haven’t experienced anything like that 🤔
Did your sights stay zeroed now that the front sight was on new handgard?
I had to do a little adjusting but nothing bad at all
These things look pretty damn good once you knock the ugly off 1 more gun on the list
I used a 21mm deep well socket instead of that one time use overpriced barrel but tool
if only it didnt have that little numb on the bottom end
Chop that sucker off! 😂 I like a hand stop but maybe someone has a Hg without it
@@NoblesTx I probably could just chop it off and polish the plastic. I emailed HB to see if they could make a version without it.

Charging handle???!! Why not show how to install?
