Andre does great interviews and asks excellent questions. Great Job, TFL.
Thank you for the kind words.
❤yes
Can’t wait for Mr. Truck and Andre to take this thing up the IKE 👍
So I guess Cadillac didn't get the memo about button's....
🤦
Cadillac chief designer: “We’ve gotten rid of all
Physical buttons!”
The rest of the car industry: 🤦♂️
The Escalade IQ with its advanced suspension, Ultra cruise, Executive seating is easily the best SUV ever, beyond anything from Europe.
The two motors is for Range, sacrifice 0-60 for range. 5 Sec is quick for an ESV
They've already basically confirmed an IQL extended model, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a 3-motor IQ-V with 1,000+ hp in a few years.
No IQL is coming.
IT'S ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!
And the engineering lady is pretty good too👍
With all those screens, I hope it comes with sunglasses and spf50 dispenser. Holy green screen batman....
The GVWR for this is probably the same 10,000-10,500 as the Silverado and Hummer. The Escalade IQ is going to be heavy. The towing limitation is due to the limitation on payload, which limits tongue weight, which limits towing capacity.
you mean the same civic is inside like Hummer?
If someone put a gun to my head and said "You need to buy a 150K car right now MudaFka!" I would buy this one, otherwise, spending over 90K on any car is just insane.
🤣
Lmao😅
Beautiful…some mentioned a vehicle there as well 😊
NYC airport lots are going to be full of these in ~3 years
Very cool the escalade is now a station wagon 😅
Can we have the IQ with TWO charging ports? one at each end?
Oh, that would be awesome for Escalade IQ owners who live in places like South Florida, where I live in the Miami area because we live in a region where a hurricane can hit during hurricane season. So you would want to have that when it is hurricane season if you live in South Florida. That way if there is a storm coming, and when the power goes out, you can power you’re home. That is awesome.
Its a nice station wagon lol
Andre still the MAN!!!!
Nice SUV. They should make a gas and electric version
Not possible because the range on the existing T1 platform would be smaller for enough reason to have a separate dedicated platform. GM could do a hybrid on the T1 platform but refuse to.
I’ve been a big fan of his scissors for years
I hope they make a BUICK version of the Escalade IQ! a smaller version - maybe call it Rainier?
$150K EV? Are they trying to set the record for the worst depreciating Cadillac in history?
Not really. This is a Cadillac, seems like you and Nathan think that Cadillac is still the 1990’s Cadillac.
Cadillac buyers are young and affluent, the market you are thinking about is occupied by Lexus and Mercedes. Those are the grandpa brands. Not Cadillac
No one is going to want a used EV that needs a new battery. Down, down, in a burning ring of fire.
@@M8Stealth the drivetrain will probably be warranties for at least 100k. A dead battery will be a problem for the 2nd owner.
How much would the wait time be to get one of this. Does it has voice commands for the volume and ac? Does the sunroof has a cover?
The sunroof does not "currently" have a cover. It goes on sale in the middle of next year.
@@TFLtruck ive been watching other videos where they said the sunroof cover will be available, i imagine it will be extra charge. I really hope they put just a few buttons, i will buy this over the EQS.
I’ve seen this ad 100 times on TV watching the US Open (tennis) but I can’t hear the words anyone?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Take my money $$$$. Range is more important to me than 0-60.
American automobiles must make a come back!
Comeback from what? They do what they do best and the Escalade is and had been a huge success for a very long time. Its not a comeback, its maintaining its momentum.
@@krane15 that’s what I want to see, but I want more Cadillac models and other brands like Buick and Chrysler to dominate American market. Currently, foreign cars dominate.
The escalade always made sense for a high end EV. The price to value makes a lot more sense at that level of competition.
According to multiple studies, Americans are still hesitant to buy electric cars. Factors that are repelling buyers from EVs include long charging times, lack of charging stations, high pricing, and Justified range anxiety. Only 30% of US consumers are considering going electric for their next car, according to a new study from Deloitte, EVs in 2021 made up only 3% of all US car purchases, although the rate increased this year. Experts estimate that the index will reach 10% by 2025 maybe but unlikely . A 2023 study by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago found that 47% of Americans are unlikely to get an EV as their next car, But the actual numbers are extremely less when infrastructure information is mixed in before the impending decision
The percentage of Americans who say they're "very unlikely" to buy an electric vehicle as their next car is growing, according to JD Power, which keeps close tabs on consumer sentiment around EVs
Two reasons: 1) range anxiety. And 2) charging network.
This new Cadillac seems to have fixed that with 450 mi. range but what will that be like in the real world remains to be seen. Not a single manufactures to date has actually gotten even close to their estimates. Not even Tesla. Add to that towing, and you can effectively reduce the range by 1/2.
However, with a 220 mi. real-world towing range, it simply won't do. But the 350 mi. sans towing just may be acceptable. It would be for me, and I'm a hard sell. But that's only because it has fast charging. Provided there's a network charger around that actually works, and give you the power it claims.
18:52 what did she call Cadillac?
I’d gladly sacrifice a little speed for more range!! I don’t understand why most seem to be hung up on speed with EVs. That should not be a top selling point to me. They’re already in most cases faster than ICE counterparts. Range is way more important in my mind for everyday use cases.
Thank you for the feedback.
👍👍👍
looks great but I think the decision on the roofline in the rear was a mistake.
No wonder my brain is telling me there's something not quite right about it.
Tapering the rear improves aerodynamics on EVs.
Magneride suspension is great... until it fails at 50k miles and costs 4k to fix.
These vehicles will make more sense when solid state batteries become mainstream. This makes sense when it has 800 miles of range with superfast charging. I will pass on an electric truck or SUV until then...
Nobody drives 800 mi. At least, not families. But that would be better estimate once you add in towing since the real-world ranges are typically 60-75% of what manufactures claim it will be.
Could we stop getting larger and larger rims with tiny sidewalls? I hate this trend. You are literally begging for flats every time you hit a pothole...
There are always a wide range of tire/wheel combinations. These big cars usually have four. You don't have to go for the largest rim-to-tire combo. Nobody takes an Escalade off road, but if you prefer that, just get the smaller wheels.
Unless I can watch, "Attack of the Flying Saucers" while driving, I don't care about the size of the "infotainment" screen...
I'd like to see a face-off between the top-tier full-size SUV from the U.S. and Europe. My bet is only the Land Rover Range Rover and the Grand Wagoneer are the true off-road full luxury vehicles. And of those two, only the Grand Wagoneer has the best 3rd row seating. Even when compared to the extended Range Rover.
As for the Cadillac, you'd think that Cadillac would have learned from the fiasco that VW had with all the negative feedback when they got rid of all their physical knobs in lieu of haptic buttons. Nobody want them, nobody asked for them, or no consumers prefer them. Everybody knows that's by now, and for a manufacturer to still insist on putting them in their vehicles shows nothing more than pure cost cutting on their part. What's accepted by Tesla customers does not translate to the rest of the industry. VW already proved that.
In any event, when it comes to third-row comfort and convenience, Cadillac still can't beat the class leader the Grand Wagoneer. That's one place its boxy shape stands superior in cushion height, and knee and head room. Its also offers the most conveniences and creature comforts in that row of any SUV currently on the market.
If you want an SUV that doesn't compromise its third-row passengers, and treat them like second-class citizen, then the obvious choice still remains the Grand Wagoneer. The only thing it lacks is rear-wheel steering. However, it does substitute part of that loss with true off-road capabilities. Something none of the other SUVs in its class (save the Range Rover) can claim.
If the lady didn't have such a strong accent of a California surfer, "Yeah, yeah, yeah" it would be easier to listen to.
It's pretty cringe.
Did she said 130??
It starts at $130,000.
The biggest issue is that Caddy seems to want to take the Aztek and make it expensive and exclusive.
Their rear lights (this and the Lyriq) are a struggle to take seriously.
So...errr...what happens when that battery gets driven through high water? (bbbzzzzt
If this is a 2025 vehicle did it have a Tesla port?
A proprietary ports? Why would any manufacturer do that?
@@krane15 it will lead to their own failure
@@krane15 it's not proprietary anymore. It's the NAZcS port and GM is transitioning to it. That's why they moved it to the same location as Tesla charge ports.
Great, now let’s see a ev Suburban.
One more reason I get sick of Nathan: he doesn’t listen or can’t be bothered to listen to the interviews. He questioned Andrey’s calling it a “truck” when twice in the interview with Mandy the Engineer from GM, she said it is a truck and it’s okay to call it a truck. Happens all the time that Nathan doesn’t listen to the interview and then asks questions that were answered in it.
This product clearly has Chinese ambitions. Looks very practical. EV's give you a lot of room. The Frunk is gigantic. I think however they should shrink the front so as to make it more nimble. This giant frunk is a side effect of not designing from scratch. So this will be very heavy.
The weight is a product of the batteries and there's no way around that. Not currently anyway. As for the Chinese, they have a totally different taste in cars than do the North American or the Europeans. That's why giants like VW developed and sold cars exclusive to that market.
Maybe they say car is car 🤔 ya know
The steering wheel sucks, update needed.
What about taking this vehicle through a car wash?
Need an engineer that can break it down...!!
And talk a bunch of tech babble? I think not.
An actual engineer wouuld be nice. Insight, as opposed to marketing quote recitation
A Car is to sold so..not for individual view need overall view... maybe 🤔
16:22 I have to bring up the awkward and unsatisfying camera angles.
Yo nathan been a big boy forever but he been slimmin down.... Dre you now the fat boy of tfl of coarse behind the new ginger. Looking great Nathan!!!!
MORE BATTERY LESS GAS👍👍👍👍
why do i think that lady engineering isn't good at engineering but is good at looking and that's how she got the job
Because it makes sense. Men and women don't think alike. Don't let anybody every tell you different. On the other hand, there are always exception, but those rear exception by no means represent the larger group.
I'm usually a bit Caddy fan but not this one. The front is over styled. Top model EV'S are getting boring. A plethora of gadgets and gizmos but I wonder about software 🤔. 5-10 years down the road will the vehicle become obsolete?
Anybody other than Tesla, yes.
☔
Ok, seriously now, get the actual Engineer in... 92 "yeahs" and "uhhmms" in first 10 minutes does not an 'impression favorable' make. Sounds like a PR person slightly in over their head. Rather nice [one million pound] vehicle.
All this going to electric is going to backfire so bad. Unless we run out of oil than we have no choice.
We wont run out of oil. Wells refill over time. Oil is abiotic. It is NOT made out of dino juice.
The idea is to end dependence on Saudi oil. The US auto industry is fully committed to going electric , as evidenced by the main automakers' promise to greatly expand the vehicle charging network.
When this car gets hit better have good insurance lol
Get ready to pay through the nose insurance rates. Fixing this stuff won't be cheap. The good news is the sensor will help you avoid the accident in the first place. Hopefully.
That rear needs to be redesigned 👎👎👎
GM's EV strategy is "Everything Nowhere All At Once." They've issues a dozen product announcements with nothing to show for it aside from a handful of Hummers and Lyriqs, so I'm doubtful we're gping to see these on the streets when they're promising.
So they built a big Kia. Great achievements.
Kia lovers need to understand that it is Kia and Hyundai who copied off of Cadillac's design, not the other way around.
@@johnls39 I highly doubt you can back this statement up with facts. Which Cadillac model had the gaping mouth with crystal-like light arrangement?
Sigh. Made it 33 seconds in. Then the two most stupid letters in the whole automotive industry were uttered... E... V.... and I checked out.
Love TFL & Andre & Cadillac! But E- vehicles are unsustainable and mostly made with slave labor! (Cobalt/Lithium mines) Way too expensive and impractical.
Maybe ....From inside too many & too much.
Looks nice. Only problem is it's electric. Companies betting big on EVs are not going to be here in 10 years.
🤣😂WTF! $150,000...NO WAY! for $70,000...id buy a Suburban! But, for $55,000...ILL DEFINITELY BUY THE 2024 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER! 🤣🤣 or, GO BUY LAND IN WYOMING, NM, DAKOTAS, MONTANA, IDAHO! This will be like the Silverado EV...NOT GOING TO SALE!
Rapper, NFL players and Beverly Hills will be filled with these.
@@USA__WILL To anyone with holes burning in the pocket will get this car everywhere.
Turning circle?!?!? Why does the chief engineer speak like a display model. Very disappointed, and it looks hideous on those chariot wheels.
Better ask Tesla.👾💡
You can keep the electric garbage. Not interested. They are a disaster for the environment.
This is the ugliest Escalade ever built.
and still electric. I wouldn't even take it for free.
I think she just talk base on work not a real thing...to buyers,ya know 🤖
That is so ugly!!! They ruined the Escalade nameplate
What u don't like this 150k station wagon, I'm shocked lol😅
Escalades are pathetic overpriced Tahoe’s
Another EV which no buddy could afford probably about 100 grand come on GM stick to gas
LOS ANGELES rich people will definitely buy many of these
Did you say $100K people would buy this? If you think about it, this vehicle could be loaded past $130K easily with options so it does not make any difference still starting at $130K. The IQ in this video is fully loaded so it is $175K as tested price.
If you can't afford it, just say so. I can't. But acting as if no one buys these expensive vehicles is lying to yourself.
