I can’t speak for this boyfriend but I think that when some men say they want a child to ‘carry my name’, they mean the same thing Ibro and Ihuoma described as wanting to see what a product of your loins/union would look like. I agree that a certain level of selfishness is needed to wanting to have children. However, wanting children for old age sake (as one of the reasons) doesn't mean the children have to physically live with or close to their aged parents to look after them. I live in a different country from my aged and retired parents but the bond they have with me despite being Miles away which I believe can only be built with a biological child. They call me, jist, laugh and cry with me in a way I dont think they can with any other child. Sometimes I wander what their life would be now that they are alone if they didnt have my siblings and I in their life. However comma🤗 I hear you Chidimma

Cuz i feel like a lot of people do not want kids but because having kids is pretty much part of the “order of things” society expects from us especially our culture, people just go for it. I commend chidinma for being bold enough to say that out loud tbh. Definitely interested in seeing you guys expand more on that conversation pls.

Well, not everybody feels that way Mr Ibrahim. And yeah Mr. Ibrahim, most parents that have babies as retirement plan, do not invest enough especially emotionally to get that emotional connection with their kids to keep them connected enough to want to take care of them
Jeanne Mai was on 'The Real' not 'The View'. According to her, she grew and evolved after the divorce and when she met Jeezy having a child just felt like the right thing.
The real daytime talk show not the view. Freddie always wanted kids but jeannie was clear from day 1 that she never wanted to have kids. She said freddie lowkey thought or hoped she would change her mind. But she never did where he was concerned. I think because jeannie grew up poor, she didnt want that life for her kids. I guess she didnt trust her ex husband’s ability to provide long-term. She has said it a number of time, that jeezy provides peace, security and stability which was obv lacking in her previous rship. So i can see why she “changed her mind” where jeezy is concerned.
