- As part of the Open Doors Toronto weekend, Lower Bay was once again, opened to the public and showed how much it has aged since 1966 on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Two TR trains were on either side of the platforms, and many advertisements, signs, posters, fun facts, the movie screen, the TTC Lego sets, etc, were also displayed as well.
A little backstory about Lower Bay Station: Below the main platform for Bay station is an abandoned platform, which was used for only six months in 1966 when the TTC experimentally ran trains whose routes included portions of both the Yonge-University and Bloor-Danforth lines. This abandoned platform is sometimes referred to as "Lower Bay" by the general public or "Bay Lower" by the TTC. The platform was in service from February to September 1966 as part of an interlining experiment, in which the TTC ran trains along three routes, with one matching the subsequent Bloor-Danforth line, and the other two combining parts of the Bloor-Danforth line with the Yonge-University line. Unfortunately, the experiment was deemed a failure, largely because delays anywhere quickly cascaded to affect the entire system, leading the Lower Bay Station to be left abandoned. As of now in the present, Lower Bay and the tracks leading to it still exist and are now used to train new operators, to move trains between the two current lines, for platform-surface experiments, and to allow movies and TV shows to filmed in the subway without disrupting to public service. My mom and i were originally gonna go. But we went against it at the last minute. Seems like it went well though. So its not like she and i missed out on much

What did he say about the TRs on line 2? Couldn't understand
@Queensway8033 he said that they only roll out TRs on line 2 for emergencies, but no plans to actually assign them permanently on line 2.
