So have they developed a way to add horsepower? I know the new engine is that twin turbo 6 or whatever.. but this seems like a LOT of weight has been added.. I’m highly considering an LX6 so any insite would be appreciated on adding power
As someone who built up a then brand new 2015 Land Cruiser similar to this LX600, I ultimately concluded after countless wheeling trips, that if you have to do this much to make the vehicle capable, it’s the wrong platform. So heavy, so compromised, still not as capable as it should be.
So, just to be clear, are you saying the LC or the LX is not a capable offroad vehicle? With all due respect, if they are not, would you share what would be. Truthfully, my 600 will occasionally go to a cabin and be used lightly, I just wonder if these are not capable, what would be?
@@jeffamburgey7485 For your purposes it should do just fine. When I say capable, I mean compared to a Jeep Wrangler, which is what I ended up in (now in my third.) A LC is a great overland platform, and because they are tough, they can technically be dragged and shoved down technical trails, but it’s not really their design. Capability means capability-they’re not all that capable compared to other things out there (Wrangler, Bronco, even power wagon-things with factory front and rear lockers and armor).
Actually outside of functionality I have to say that looks terrible. Front bumper is incoherent looking, rock rails don’t follow the side lines well, the whole thing just looks bolted on, or. It much integrated.
@@GregKittle One has to wonder, if you have that kind of dough, do you really waste it on something this convoluted or do you just buy the proper motorhome with all the amenities and then have a toy hauler trailer or better yet, motorhome with a garage for the OR toy(s)?

The fact that Lexus omitted E-KDSS on the LX600 is unforgivable 😢
I agree
No kdss on LXs because of hydraulic suspension.
That’s why I like the GX 550 better. Also the body design on the GX looks more rugged.

So the headlights are completely blocked. Great engineering.
I've driven this build at night and I can tell you they're 100% not blocked. Thanks for the comment :)

Land Cruiser have always been more geared towards overlanding more than serious off-roading. It’s built to do what it’s meant to do.

Truth is I bought for the quality and because I love Lexus. I understand your point now.

Not impressed. Its ugly and probably way heavier than it needs to be. Hard pass for me.

Why?
