Does anyone know if Matthew went to West Point? And how he is doing. He must be nearing 30 by now. The Webers are such a wonderful family, and the US is blessed by those like them.
Unfortunately, Matthew, you and so many of the young have lost their beloved fathers, from war and deadly illnesses. My paternal grandfather died at 39 of a staph infection. In those days, with no antibiotics, staph meant death. My Dad became the breadwinner at 13, not unusual then. He kept working and going to school nights. He came of age in the Great Depression. He took the test for the FBI at about 33, and achieved a 97%! He was accepted. I am glad you had a bit more time with your dad. I hope your mother and the twins are doing well. I think you went to West Point and are well into your career. You will surely be very successful, and happy. Just remember that even if you have your dream job, there will always be something about it you don’t like. Or someone who is negative or confrontational. That’s just life. I wish you the greatest joy, and am so happy of knowing your dad’s philosophy and practical advice to you all. God bless and keep you always. Brenda D. Shanley
