The USS Texas was made before spotter planes so the guns could only elevate high enough shoot as far as the horizon, after they added a spotter plane to the ship they had to flood one side to get the extra elevation.
Specifically, they flooded the torpedo blister - a similarly late addition to the ship's defense scheme on the outside of the hull.

My theory on the British ships having a bonus to setting fires is that it's a reference to the strategy of "fire ships" from the age of sail. They'd rig up an outdated ship with barrels of tar and gunpowder, guide it out of the harbor with a skeleton crew, lash the wheel in place when it was aimed at the enemy fleet, set the thing on fire and abandon ship. In a densely packed formation, it was almost guaranteed to run into an enemy ship, or they'd be forced to break formation, leaving them vulnerable to the British's smaller, faster ships

Actually funny story. The frigate they keep picturing is a class with a special interior artillery that lifts up and extends from inside the ship with self triangulating systems. Something installed in the bullets helps with establishing the trajectory.
It's been fired once or twice for testing, because to restock the ship with a full load of shells was several MILLION dollars. Hundreds of thousands per bullet.....so there's one or two fancy @$$ paperweights in the fleet.
Frigates as a whole are kind of dying out as it gets easier to build Jack-of-all-trade ship classes.
It's funny that they memed THE useless frigate class, though.

@@alejandrobotero8725 instead of frigates and destroyers, they usean MBS, a Main Battle Ship. Like how after WW2 instead of having Light Tanks, Heavy tanks and Assault Tanks, they standardized into the MBT or the Main Battle Tank

I just looked it up. The studio who makes World of Tanks is called 'Wargaming' and it's part of Xbox Game Studios.
Considering it's Microsoft, it makes sense that they are able to have all of these expensive brand collabs.

@@JoshuaJapitan Look it up. Wargaming and Xbox Game Studios are the publishers, aka the ones who pay for stuff (collabs included). Wargaming is also one of the developers of World of Tanks and World of Warships. Lesta Studio is the other developer studio for both of those games.
Regardless, Wargaming is under Microsoft.
Microsoft is also the one who hosts WarGaming.Net's games (World of Tanks and World of Warships).
Next time, look it up instead of claiming something is wrong when you know nothing about the subject discussed.

Yes the reason it’s raged on so hard with the saying ( I’m about to give everyone ptsd……m1garand clip ejection ping ) is because during one war [ I think it was Vietnam ] before the m16 was built and issued out the enemy would start shooting at the us soldier after the fairly loud and vary distinctive/iconic “ping” ( almost a more obnoxious/dreaded version of the click of an empty magazine )
Then again it’s a bit of an urban Myth referred to as “ the ping of death “

There used to be micro islands near Puerto Rico and I would take a boat made out of random crap to them. My 9 year old ass paddled to these islands and booping sharks that got close because I read it in a book. Most of the islands are gone now but I'd do that shit again, no cap.

Ya know, as a player of world of warships who still has the time to play it, I feel like badger would've loved Henri IV or Conqueror. Probably Conqueror since it's a battleship that not only guarantees a fire if it's a full salvo that you aimed properly but also is one of the most maneuverable battleships in the game. That said, I'm not sure how much he'd enjoy dealing with the present Carriers and Submarines alongside superships. Though I guess since he's badger he'd figure out a way to enjoy it, prolly influence me in the process.
When I used to play this, you could add mods from the UI to the skin of the ship. Don't know if you could still do it now.

Wait, battleships are the slowest in this game? The opposite of reality. Battleships were very fast. They were terrifying because you couldn’t kill them, they had much longer range than you, and you couldn’t outrun them.
Battleships in WW1 were hideously slow, i'm talking barely surpassing 20 knots here. Battlecruisers however were fast, and always have been fast. Only in WW2 and just before it did battleships become relatively fast, and even then cruisers and destroyers outrun them...

Eeehhh... Early Dreadnoughts were horrifying because they were a massive jump in speed, but they were still a good 5 knots or so slower than the proper-small vessels (torpedo boats/destroyer). Then, post WWI, naval tech caught up and even the most advanced battleships topped out at around 30 knots, where as destroyers were pushing 40, while cruisers sat comfortably in the middle. Battle*cruisers* on the other hand, were exactly as you described. Fast enough to outrun battleships and catch cruisers, and well enough armed to bring down anything it couldn't escape.

I don't know why they were making such a big deal about Popeyes biscuits with no drink, Popeyes biscuits are fairly moist. I mean I wouldn't want to eat 5 or 6 no drink, but only because they'd get bland after a while. Now, If for some reason you actually want the experience they described, you need to try to eat a KFC biscuit no drink. Those are painfully dry, and I won't touch them without at least buttering them and maybe some honey or jam.
having now eaten them after they've cooled and the butter in them is no longer soft/wet, I stand corrected, they get vary dry indeed.
