I've lived in Venice, Fl for years and considering a move to Parrish due to how much more home I can get for my $ there. I took my first trip up there a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised at the feel of it all. Like you mentioned though, there is a little distance to beach in terms of drive time. I like being 10 -15 min drive from the beach, but there are pros to being further inland. Will keep researching. Thank you for your videos.

I'd love to buy in this community but my budget won't allow for it unless I opt for one of the villas which are 1850 sf so perfect size but no private pools can go on the villa lots here per HOA rule. It’s a great area we lived out there for years and had to sell our home when Covid had just begun and didn’t make the money like they started to 7 mos later and had to move because of our son needed us. Our home was only 2yrs old and when we bought it we paid $270,000 with low interest rate no CDD fee went to NC and couldn’t afford anything. Came back to Florida and we’re renting. This being said you’re from the New England States and also people from New York have sold thier homes made a lot of money and ofcourse you’re able to afford these prices now plus have extra. We have no taxes so everyone has run to Florida and chased us native Floridians out that are living on SS only. Florida has never been a state that people made a high income that’s why it’s been a place for middle income and retirees that never had high paid jobs. Daily Uhaul trucks are loading up and leaving. Extremely sad what’s happened to our state. Congratulations I hope you enjoy your new Brand New Villa. New Yorkers kept thier high paying jobs and have set up to work remotely from home and sold thier places for over a million and come down here and were able to buy a home for $600,000 on the water w/ a pool. I knew someone that did that in 2019.

#10 reason, Manatee county , including Parrish ,is low elevation which is prone to flooding , you may want to visit after heavy rain before moving there.
Hi James. I discuss the flood issue in this video & provide the FEMA flood map link so people can look. Many communities are actually elevated to X zones & not prone to flooding. We've lived here 10 years & never had flooding of any sort in our neighborhood. During our summer rainy season, you are correct that the streets flood easily as well as low-lying fields & that is definitely something worth noting. Not all builders are equal. Most communities have multiple builders and they are not all the same, you have to do your research and ask buyers. Facebook all have groups you can join and ask!

I have not seen any unusual bugs!! And I drive to Sarasota to Art shows and farmers markets are all over even Lakewood Ranch..a lot of shopping..is where I hang out....
@@kimberlyreed376 hi Kimberly. I’m very clear on my channel that Parrish is much different than Sarasota in regards to the impacts of storms, flooding, traffic, etc. And I didn’t say we had to evacuate in Parrish & often share about how we chose Parrish bc it’s more inland. I also often share that the traffic that many people complain about in Parrish is nothing in comparison to many other states or Sarasota or Bradenton…and yet the traffic everywhere is often a topic of conversation on our many Parrish FB community pages. As far as weird bugs are concerned, I’m glad you haven’t encountered any…perhaps bc you’ve been in FL longer than those of us who came from other states. So, in comparison to other states, many people find there are more bug species than they’ve encountered otherwise. And as for alligators…we love the gators that live in the pond behind our house…I even have a video dedicated to alligators in FL bc the gator issue is the TOP question I’m asked by people who wish to move here. And I talk regularly about the tax amounts in Parrish. It’s all relative to from where people are coming. Not one single person has taken this video as a slam to Parrish & I do apologize if you felt otherwise as that was not my intention at all. I love living in Parrish & my channel reflects that.
Hi Joseph. There are positives & negatives about every city, town or state. And it’s okay to share both so people can make an informed decision for themselves. I have other videos that share the positive. Millions of people share their opinions on social media every day, both positive & negative. You didn’t keep your opinion to yourself…and that’s okay, because you have the freedom to share it. As do I.
Sounds like the title to 1000 videos on TH-cam, ha ha. But seriously, Bugs, Gators, Heat, Traffic, Crowding increasing, No Chic Fil-A, beach is too far to visit on a daily basis except when on vacation. Most of these complaints apply to any place in the country right now. I am in Virginia, and it is hot as Hades, the roads are crowded, I can't get in the pool when I want it, I am not going to the trouble of driving to the Chic Fil-A in bumper to bumper traffic, I don't want food delivery coming to my house, I don't care about schools because I am old like most people. The list goes on. Except, it is butt cold here in winter, and it ain't in Parrish, Florida or anywhere else in Florida. So that is what most videos just waste time not saying, when they say "don't move here". Best wishes.

We found a few places we’re going to look at in October and praying we find something. I’m pretty sure the one area we will. Sounds like what our area used to be like. At our age it’s hard to move but we can’t stay here.
Probably not a good place to be right now with Milton heading to it. Let’s see if the developers provided adequate drainage and built everything to hurricane code.
Will there be a town center? Like they have in Lakewood Ranch (2).
Hi Scott! Yes👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼! There are supposed to be 2 as of now: The Parrish Village Center in North River Ranch where the new HCA hospital medical village will be (much like LWR Main Street beside LWR hospital) and then a town center off 301 near Hwy 62…ish area😉. There’s also supposed to be a Walmart (fan or not🤷♀️) & Home Depot off Moccasin Wallow, a CVS or Walgreens, miscellaneous thises & thats along the way🤣. I’ll be making some videos about each in the new year…so stay tuned🤗
Thanks for the info! Great video too. @@HomeswithNewman
Yeah, I’ll stick with our venomous snake/gator free state of Michigan 😂 Can’t do the heat anyway. Can actually utilize our lakes 😉
I hear ya!😂I've been to Michigan a few times...Detroit, Anne Arbor & Hamtramck...I know I spelled that wrong🤔, but I know the other parts I didn't see are the best!
I had to watch this just to see what you could possibly say about Parrish that would take 25 minutes.
It’s not for everyone
Last week my wife and l spotted a rattler walking trail and just last night around midnight l had spotted a moccasin snake on our sidewalk at NR Ranch.
Freaky!!😱 Yes, we certainly have the critters here. I grew up in VA, which also had lots of snakes & then moved to CO for 20 years....so I know about snakes😯😂
#11 - it's boring.....
I keep hearing all new construction is made very shoddy with poor quality and defects.
Not all builders are equal. Most communities have multiple builders and they are not all the same, you have to do your research and ask buyers. Facebook all have groups you can join and ask!

Traffic & hurricanes should be #1 and #2. Ian, Helene, Milton, in just two years. The weather and the traffic are only going to get worse. Don’t move here. If you’re already here, get out while you can.
@@markokrstic1200 I have lots of videos on the hurricanes!
@@HomeswithNewmanwill take a look!
Don’t think they are reasons not too move there
I think it’s a great place to consider as a home town…but I’m biased😉
Lol they just don’t want ppl to move there 😅😅😅 nothing wrong with the area
Agreed, Kelly! Any place on this planet is going to have its pros & cons; some will love it while others hate it. I happen to love where I live..and if I didn’t, then I’d likely move to a place I liked better. And if I was not in a position to move away from a place I didn’t like, then I’d do my best to make the most of it & choose to find joy in my circumstances. But that’s just my personality. Things will not always go the way I want them to🤷♀️, but I make a choice to be happy anyway 😉
😂😂😂 I was just telling my wife that very thing two seconds ago then I read your comment😂😂😂😂
@@rakim6466 so you enjoy traffic and sitting inside all year....lol. 😆
I think you are ALL wrong!! My dad bought a vacation home in Sarasota in 1979 and I have been coming here since 1979...and built my house in Parrish Copperstone in 2010...and there is LESS traffic in Parrish then closer to beach communities...and less chance of Hurricane in Parrish then Sarasota or Venus....we are no in any evacuation zone in Parrish...we never have to evacuate...!! You are dead wrong...is safer more inland in Parrish E of I 75....and our property taxes are less here and HOA less in Parrish..so...for a realtor..you are very out of touch..!!!.....No flooding in my community in 14 years....and there are gators in my backyard pond but they have never been up in my yard in 14 years..they don't bother any body and bugs?
Are you just trying to be negative for the sake of being negative. Wow. I think of 9 reason why people should keep their opinions to themselves.
As do I.
Over priced like everything these days.
It’s crazy, right🤷♀️
Don't move to Florida...
@@BrisLS1 I miss
Hills
Waterfalls
Mountains
Valleys
Cool crisp air...
Cliffs....Florida has none of those...
The whole state of Florida is flat...very very flat...average elevation is 30 feet above sea level...and it's all sand...
That's why it's so hot here.
The beaches are not life changing experiences either...nothing like Hawaii or Bora Bora...or Mediterranean...lol...
@@BrisLS1 Get away from the East Coast...go further inland...A small town in Iowa or Montana is heaven on earth...friendly people who are glad your there...I once spent 3 weeks in Northern North Dakota...believe it or not...I've never met happy people like that....
🤣Right?? It's so funny to read on local platforms when people complain about the bugs, gators, traffic, heat....like, duh? I'm from VA, (Richmond & Mechanicsville) so I remember how hot summers were (are) and even worse humidity than here in FL..IMO. And then when I lived in CO for 20+ years...the complaints about the hail (granted...it was brutal) and the snow/ice...again...duh! And agreed...complaints apply to any area in our country...so just pick a place you enjoy and make it better! We love FL!
Man, I'd love to visit Bora Bora or the Mediterranean one day!! I lived in CO for 20 years and had my fill of hills, mountains, cool crisp air..so FL has been a nice change for us. Yes...very flat indeed. Our house in Monument, CO was just under 7,000 ft elevation....but also LOTS of snow & ice (not to mention killer hail!)
