      Oh yeah. It's really a wonder. Development insights are a Rarity.

      That was back when the atmosphere was more akin to a gritty crime flick rather than the slick, intrigue-heavy spy movie style that the last two games have had. Different atmospheres require different music, and I like the musical choices they've gone for. It calls to mind the music of something like Skyfall, my favourite spy movie of all time.

    I love that Agent 47 was made into an anti-hero style character. I actually described the game as playing as an anti-hero and only eliminating bad-guys not just random people. The game never felt like I was playing some chaotic evil, but like I was playing a chaotic good. Agent 47 very much plays like The Punisher or other dark comic book characters. The 47 storyline is so much more defined now and so much more realistic, rather than "Crazy hitman who will kill for money."

    • @YT_JJE
      @YT_JJE 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Those earlier cutscenes were more than likely funded from Square Enix's pockets, since most of their games tend to have highly-advanced and -realistic CGI movies, but because IOI has separated from Square before Hitman 2's release, the more constrained budget forced them to cut costs and we're left with the Hitman 2 cutscenes as they are.

      I have 100s of hours on the Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 reincarnation of the game. I think the modern game became so replayable because of how many ways there are to manipulate the map and manipulate the characters within the map. Sometimes I spend a solid 25mins just walking around scouting or exploring thinking of ways to do things or plotting, planning for future runs.

    • @Dominian1
      @Dominian1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I spend hundreds of hours on Hitman and Hitman 2. It's really amazing in terms of getting the classic Hitman experience with the guide story missions, then learning all the paths to get around in suit only and then to do the challenges. Even shooting is excellent fun and I often try to kill every single guard in the Paris level, but if any of them fire a shot at me I restart and if an alarm is triggered I also restart. It's like an hour of headshot meditation I can watch movies next to. It's really satisfying when you burst into onto the terrace and headshot everyone there without them running away or to go into the auction area and kill everyone before they react and run away. You gotta be really fast to do that, so it's a fun challenge and I love the game for working so great as a sandbox that us players can come up with all of these approaches to a level in addition to tons of cool challenges provided by IOI. Games as a service is an absolute blessing to Hitman. Alway keeping it fresh with new suits and challenges. Best game of the decade. (and if you care to know, the last decade it was Dragon Age :D )

    HUGE Hitman 2/Blood money Fan here. I just started my first playthrough of Hitman(2016) just as this YT series started.. Now I'm on Hitman2 (few episodes in).. Gotta say I'm absolutely HOOKED on these titles again. The Vigilante vibes, to the dark humor, then the challenges, are all keeping me playing. Suit only challenges are the freaking BEST. Feeling stylish xD Really badass you guy offer the original look all these years later. Thank you so much for all your work iOI and NoClip. I can't wait to finish Hitman2 & get hyped for the 3rd entry!

    It's kind of funny when people who work on the Hitman 2 project talk about the various ways you can take out targets - and then they go '...saying that out loud it does sound a little terrible, huh?'

    Massive respect for setting out to create an explicitly Marvel-inspired interconnected Universe, and only saying that was the plan after they've already demonstrated they could actually do just that, rather than trying to make that the main selling point of the game.

      Especially in Bangkok and Hokkaido... It's nice that each facility's cleaning, restaurant and security staff are so willing to employ non natives... there's seems to be a bit of a height discrepancy... 47 must be a dab hand at lowering hemlines and cuff lengths.

    I think some of the main targets should have guns and try to kill you if they catch you trying to kill them, don't most of the Main targets or all of them just run away from you if they catch you? I remember getting chased by an old samurai in Hitman 2 Silent Assassin or getting murdered by a coked out Drug lord in Hitman Codename 47, stuff like that would be cool would give the main Targets more balls.. and bring back 47 clones in missions that try to Snipe you.. that would be awesome!

    The recent Hitman 2 is the game that made me fall in love with the series. I had kind of experienced it before, I played the first one years ago and didn't like it... then I gave Blood Money a chance since a friend raved about it and I started to see the appeal, but just couldn't get along with it. But Hitman 2 was the first one I was really patient with and after giving it that patience I bought the first season and Blood Money again and finally saw what made the series stand out for so many.
    You really do just have to give it some time. It's a game that makes trial and error fun, largely because of just how experimental you can get.
