Very interesting. I know that street really well and bought my 12 string and the J160e from Hanks years ago. There's fewer shops now than ever, especially on the northern side of the street where the bass specialists have gone. The street has been a never ending building site for the best part of 10 years without any obvious reason why. Hanks, No.Tom, Regent Sounds and Rose Morris are in their original locations but the others have swapped buildings again and again. Regent Sounds are an official Fender dealer, I approached them for a custom shop job once and in the process of the discussion got to look around their building which is where The Rolling Stones recorded their first LP. Rose Morris IS the same Rose Morris that Rickenbacker owners will know. In 1964 they imported a special selection of instruments that even today bear the RM prefix to their nomenclature. Recently they had a Rickenbacker on sale for the first time in 60 years. Just outside the street, two shops have gone. Virgin Music on Oxford Street who also sold guitars downstairs. I got my Mk VII there and Macaris on Charing Cross Road who have moved to West Sussex. Near them were the locations of the shops The Beatles frequented including Drum City who furnished Ringo with his Ludwig kits. The manager, Ivor Arbiter, was the man who designed their Drop T drum head logo. For me though Denmark Street's most interesting building is the one in the background at 0:18 Now cocktail bar Thirteen, it was the labour exchange that employed serial killer Dennis Nilson. One of the best things about visiting the street is seeing musicians carrying guitars away heading for the tube at Tottenham Court Road and wondering what's in that anonomous case. If you want a top make guitar I'd recommend you try Denmark Street. Go on the train, make a day of it and you'll probably see all of your favourites in one shop or another and can make the best choice. My favourite shop is No.Tom.

I absolutely do appreciate vintage guitars and if I had the money, I'd definitely buy them in a physical store as the whole procedure is a romantic happening to me. 🤘❤️
Malcolm, I understand your point, but the customer should not be forced to pay MORE than the guitar is worth because the shop owner made bad rent decisions.
