Okay apparently the segment about snapshot the stats at the end wasn't cut. This is outdated information, it used to work like this, but it was changed and doesn't matter anymore!
I tested how late the sampling can be done and you can actually do it *right* as the enemy board loads onto your screen. You don't have enough time to really think about it, but there might be ways to still use this to your advantage. Obviously if you only have 1 3* EDM unit, you're getting immense value out of the base power of their ability and probably shouldn't swap, but if you manage to get both 3* lux and 3* jax, there might be some niche valuable tech available. As an example, let's make the assumption that Jax is better to burst melee vamp carries and lux is better to take out the backline early. If you scout and see your possible matchups are 1 team with a scaling backline carry and 2 teams with strong melee carries, you could sample Jax then hover the sampler over Lux as the round is starting. If you see that it's the team that needs backline assassinated, use the sampler on Lux, and if not, just drag it away (or wait long enough that it locks in).
I’m confused when you mentioned snapshoting stats of a dead sampled unit… didn’t you say earlier that the only thing that matters is the star level and ability damage? Why does the snapshotter stats matter?
Thank you so much for making this video, I didn't understand EDM at all so I didn't know how to make it work, it makes so much sense now! Thank you! :D
Their own traits still apply. Only the original Lux applies the Dazzler trait (and does so with any sampled ability), while Jax can benefit from Mosher omnivamp.
I did notice this when going over the clips today as well, haha It can still happen though, it happened to my Lux quite often, so the clip is just a bad reference here
Do headliners count as units from the overall champion pool in the store? For example each champion pool for 5 gold is 9, so if someone besides you has, for example, 1 Kayn, you can't build him into 3 stars. Or can you if the headliners don't depend on that pool? sorry for my bad england
Yes, the pool applies to headliners too. Lets say the champ pool is 9, and there are 7 of each 5 cost on boards. No 5 cost headliners can spawn if this happens.
Oh nice, I've been messing around with EDM too and hadn't noticed the stats change. Thanks for that. About the overlapping ability casts, the unit will still attempt to use the ability once they're out of animation lock. The timer seems to be for the board too, because I've had a Jax perform a late Lux ult only to do it in sync with the others on the next interval. Another thing I noticed by failing to sample Lux one game too, if you don't have a sample selected then each unit just samples themselves, at the interval that their sample should occur at, so you could treat EDM as a multicast trait. Edit: To the point of delayed sampling, I'm not sure if there's a window for the units to attempt to sample after an animation lock, because in one clip I saved it looks like Zed didn't sample himself while the others did.
@@leduckIt might have to do with targeting, such as the unit they were intending to lux beam dies from another units cast before it can fire it off. Seems like a niche case, but would explain the failure chance
i havent played pbe yet, is Trickster’s glass still an ornn item? and if so, does that affect the clone’s ability to cast sampled ult or do they still only cast their ability?
zac is a solid unit as a 4 cost bruiser that can heal himself and stun if you find him early, and if you find a headliner lux she's not a bad option as an ap item holder remember, even if you just have the one headliner lux (edm +1), sampling herself is still functionally a roughly 50% damage increase, with marginal increases if you're dazzler +1 instead or not headliner lux and just have zac shoot a baby laser every now and then can also splash zac + jax (maybe + zed) in comps like heartsteel, pentakill, or country for extra frontline presence with the zac jumps
Hi leduck, if you are playing multiple of the same EDM champions (e.g. 2 Lux, 2 Zed, 2 Zac) when playing an augment like Twin Terror, do the duplicate champions still transform for EDM casts? Thanks.
he said in the video that only the strongest of any EDM units can cast. i learned the hard way (also with twin terror) that EDM doesn't transform more than one of a champion

I came to the comments with my pitchfork to get this cleared up. I'll put the pitchfork away for now.
yesterday I played with 5 EDM and the augment buff, using Zac ability, it's was a lot of fun to see every EDM jumping across the board every 4 seconds

oh i think that might've been part of old script, since riot literally changed this trait in the middle of making it oops!
2:02 that zed placement is genius HAHA
Thanks for the video, i wanna try EDM mself, coz i am fan of these "let me cook" traits.
Thank you so much for making this video, I didn't understand EDM at all so I didn't know how to make it work, it makes so much sense now! Thank you! :D
What traits do unit consider when EDM casting? If my Jax EDM casts Lux's ability can he get Dazzler bonus? Can he get Mosher bonus?
Their own traits still apply. Only the original Lux applies the Dazzler trait (and does so with any sampled ability), while Jax can benefit from Mosher omnivamp.
if you watch the clip where you say the zac laser is lost, zac shoots the laser after he finishes bouncing so its not really lost, just unsynced
I did notice this when going over the clips today as well, haha
It can still happen though, it happened to my Lux quite often, so the clip is just a bad reference here
i feel like protectors lux with a JG aug would probably become the strat, getting a massive burst of backline access sounds nuts

ok, thanks!@@BRKirne
If you have double trouble, do you lose the stats as EDM triggers? As you technically have more than 2x Lux, Zac, etc.?
good question ngl
This is just so much precious information
Appreciate it mate

Looks like they can store the ability, but based on timing i believe it can fail

The first EDM game i played i got EDM Lux 3 with prismatic JL. It was beautiful and horrifying and exalting....
how do their damage scale? should i just focus on the selected edm or also build others ap (if lux)
I Hope i have that right in mind If i think that omnivamp dont Count for the Units Transform If the Main unit hast some?
So is titan the best item for EDM?
if zed with ad items copies lux. will his ad items make lux abilety stronger? (does EDM work with adaptive force?)
If 1 of the EDMs are stunned and I have Lux as main carry, do they beam as well, or not?
Does jax EDM passive stack ??
Great content and I really appreciate that heads up with the 3 stars item loss issue
Great explanation man, keep up!
When it says 50% effective, does Zac's stun go to 0.5 seconds? Also is there a less then 5 EDM splash strategy?
stun should be reduced, with multicaster stuff like sona attack speed was also giving out less attack speed with reduced effectiveness
zac is a solid unit as a 4 cost bruiser that can heal himself and stun if you find him early, and if you find a headliner lux she's not a bad option as an ap item holder

does edm work with the augment hologram?
Only one transformation per unit type, so it wouldn't really add much even if clone would transform

Thank you Leduck, very cool.
Do the EDM units gain the 10% ap/ad from Jax's spell after they transform back?
Yes, will be covered in a future video
You weren't lying indeed
Looks
Interesting! Let’s stay in touch.
So let's just agree that EDM is a good idea with bad implementation and we're good to go.
Why the hell do we need someone to test these things why aren’t they just told to us or worded properly
Looks damage :)
Loox
bad trait
