I was so happy for all the gay couples in S. Korea when I heard this last week! 😭😭😭 Hopefully, in the near future, this will mean same-sex marriage will be legal! 🏳🌈 I'm a gyeopo noona that lives in Oregon (lol, the state above California) and Portland, the city I live in, is one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly in the US. We've had a mayor who is gay, and our current governor of the state is a lesbian who has a partner. We've even had a transgendered mayor of a small town in Oregon a few years ago.
I know this is just the beginning for equal rights for all in Korea. Thank you for leading the way with all the things you have been doing for years to show how natural and normal and loving a same-sex relationship can be and that you all deserve the same rights as every other person.

So, South Korea, just know that many countries are watching you, and waiting for you to do the right thing and catch up with many other countries when it comes to ending the many discriminations against the LGBTQ+ community! I am a writer from the Middle East and I have stories about gay and lesbian people but I take all people simply as human beings. I hope Korea will soon recognize that a relationship based on love and commitment deserves respect regardless of the genders of the people involved. Here in New Zealand, discrimination regarding sexual orientation and expression has been banned since 1993. In 2004, neutral civil unions were recognized. I’ve only just discovered your channel, and what I love most so far is your ability to show the world that gays are human beings, with the same needs, hopes, dreams and vulnerabilities as everyone else. You give me hope that a time will come when all the conflict, legal inequalities and misinformed thinking will be a thing of the past, and not even thought about during our daily lives. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to just love who you love and live contented and kindly? This ruling brings us so much closer to that possibility. I wish you all the happiness in the world. 한국말 좀 잘 못해서 실례하겠습니다... 😅 저는 게이 "교포"이고 7년 전부터 남자친구 있어요. 몇 달 전에 F-4 비자 받았는데 저희가 미국에서 결혼해도 (둘 다 미국인이다) 동성 결혼이라서 제 남자친구는 부양비자를 갖을 수 없다는 말씀 영사관에서 들었어요. 이제 아마 가능 될 것 같아요. 그렇게 빨리 되기를 발아요. 이 법적 결정의 논리에 따르면 이성의 배우자는 부양비자를 갖을 수 있다면서 동성의 배우자는 부양비자를 갖을 수 없다면 완전 차별이다 뭐 그렇게 해석할 수도 있겠다. 그냥 한국에 가서 변호사의 대리인을 구할까요? 😝

Imagine not providing Healthcare and Insurance to a Citizen of your country solely due to the system only recognising partners of opposite sex. On that basis to Sue them after making an administrative error? The case shouldn't have take 4 years but that's a great result and precedent for equality on the Korean peninsula.

I hope Korea will soon recognize that a relationship based on love and commitment deserves respect regardless of the genders of the people involved. Here in New Zealand, discrimination regarding sexual orientation and expression has been banned since 1993. In 2004, neutral civil unions were recognized. I’ve only just discovered your channel, and what I love most so far is your ability to show the world that gays are human beings, with the same needs, hopes, dreams and vulnerabilities as everyone else. You give me hope that a time will come when all the conflict, legal inequalities and misinformed thinking will be a thing of the past, and not even thought about during our daily lives. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to just love who you love and live contented and kindly? This ruling brings us so much closer to that possibility. I wish you all the happiness in the world. 한국말 좀 잘 못해서 실례하겠습니다... 😅 저는 게이 "교포"이고 7년 전부터 남자친구 있어요. 몇 달 전에 F-4 비자 받았는데 저희가 미국에서 결혼해도 (둘 다 미국인이다) 동성 결혼이라서 제 남자친구는 부양비자를 갖을 수 없다는 말씀 영사관에서 들었어요. 이제 아마 가능 될 것 같아요. 그렇게 빨리 되기를 발아요. 이 법적 결정의 논리에 따르면 이성의 배우자는 부양비자를 갖을 수 있다면서 동성의 배우자는 부양비자를 갖을 수 없다면 완전 차별이다 뭐 그렇게 해석할 수도 있겠다. 그냥 한국에 가서 변호사의 대리인을 구할까요? 😝
헛 ㅠㅠ 해외에서 가족인 두사람에 대해서 부양비자를 주지 않다니... 하루빨리....!!!!🔥🔥🔥

Imagine not providing Healthcare and Insurance to a Citizen of your country solely due to the system only recognising partners of opposite sex. On that basis to Sue them after making an administrative error? The case shouldn't have take 4 years but that's a great result and precedent for equality on the Korean peninsula.
You both have been at the forefront of this fight to be "accepted" by the government. Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐!! More good will come out of this.
