Sur-loc archery may have down sized for a cause of raw materials prices with aluminum and went to carbon fiberglass for their sight systems, but I haven't heard anything about why spothogg picked up the hootershooter and raised the price up into the outer space for no f-----' good reason, when several people have shown that they have built their own hootershooters for a whole lot less, hootershooter doesn't need to no dam $3000.00 ,I myself don't have one, but I have seen videos on how it's used, and I think it is very useful,
Spot Hogg is no longer making the Hooter Shooter. They are expensive because they are better built than many of the homebuilt shooting machines with quality machined components as well as the motorized auto draw model. In order to make them and make it profitable for the company with such a small number of units ordered per year, the cost needs to be higher so they make a reasonable profit for the amount of time and money it costs to machine, assemble, and test each model before it goes out the door when they only sell a handful of units every year. If they sold 1,000's of them a year, they could probably afford to have a smaller profit margin on each one. In reality, it isn't a product that many people are interested in and use, even though they have really big benefits, especially for arrow tuning. I don't think they have really raised the price much. They added the auto draw model a few years ago which is quite a bit more than the standard hooter shooter, and well worth the extra money over the hand crank. It's drastically faster and more consistent than the hand crank model.
