Damn right, Brian, my Grandpa saved everything, and it saved our ass lots of times.
True story………my Grandpa always said, “do the best you can with what you got”!
You gotta do what you gotta do. When the weather doesn't cooperate, ditch bales it is.
Enjoy the cooler temps. It's 100 degrees here in South Arkansas today.
Well upper 70s here Northeast Missouri cross the creek from Quincy Illinois. Really nice
Best line, “Gotta throw these away before Dad puts them on a shelve to reuse.”
I remember as a kid in the 60's, on a rainy day straightening nails in the shop for Grandpa and putting them in a bucket under the bench.
Wow. That time of year when one gets bored 😂. All clam before the the fall fun begins. Great video
@@cottonwood4935 You could also listen to Robert Schuller and his motivational tapes - he also mentions straightening nails to build the next house during the depression.
That’s ok😊, wait until it comes out of Cole’s pocket, then he’ll be glad to save them!!😂
Mr Brian. We will need 2 songs of the day in the next episode. Please. And thank you.
My compliments to Brian. He represents the very best of our generation in terms of his honor, integrity, manhood, fathering, and mentoring of the next generation.
So much of humanity is seemingly lost these days as many people have shifted their morals to non-morality in the case of everything being pushed on society by the extreme factions in control.
Thank heavens there are still a few good men who teach their sons to be real men. We need more men like Brian and Cole.
this made me read it twice. I am so honored that you think so!
@@briansonne814as a 65 year old grandfather I agree in everything he said ❤ love your videos.
Spring down the floors before sweeping was a good idea
Spraying
Chet Larson is green with envy after your sweeping of the shop floor.
Farmer’s decision making not just tillage, planting and harvesting, but when to “spray or mow” and when to maintain equipment. I love your use of duck tape, vice grips and power tools! Cole, when you responded “I can’t do nothing right” I remember telling that to my Dad years ago in his upholstery shop! Takes all the joy out of helping if you never get any positive encouragement! Keep up the good work, Cole and Brian! You two rock the YT farming scene. Cole, I love it when you keep busy….cutting up palettes, cleaning out the livestock trailer, brushing out the equipment barn, mulching up trees/brush and pulling things out of the weeds
That was some pretty snappy back-&-forth between Cole and Brian. I giggled through most of this video. I think Hippopotamus means "River Horse" - but in your case I think it should be "River COW". 🐮🐄
he completes me
I think we can get one more year out of it! I love the “book learn-in!”
99 percent of kids these days should be made to watch farm channels like Sonne Farms so they just might get it thru their thick heads how hard it is to raise the beef in their fast food.
Ain't no 9 to 5 punch the clock and go out and goof when your Daddy raises ya to follow in his muck boots.
I grew up in a small Michigan farm town myself so I do know and appreciate the hard work farmers put in.
Back in the 90's I was on vacation in S.D.
Must've been dry then too because it seemed everyone was cutting the ditches for hay.
YOUR DAD knows what he's doing with ditch hay 😉👍
I have stacks of dull knives waiting to be sharpened. 😂
You guys spend a lot of time doing maintenance on your Equipment. I know that is important to do. Saves trouble in the long run. Hope get some good bales from the ditches. Take Care and Be safe on the farm.
I like your Dads new addiction... 😉 🚜 4050
Great video 👍😉👍
I've seen grasshoppers strip bark off Mesquite trees.
I think southern goats say Blaaaaah LOL
Onomatopoeia! Animal sound naming for common animals differs by country!---So happy to see rain puddles! Now, how 'bout the 3rd cutting of Alfalfa?
Bucket of bolts for the win!
My son and I work together also so it’s fun to see the family dynamics of different families working together. It takes grace and wisdom for sure
You told everyone to go jump in the pool 😂😂 old cow!! Thanks young man!
Loving the goat conversation. One of the things that makes your content better than most.
Learn something new every day, I always thought the goals were saying “Baaaaaaah”! I didn’t know they were really saying “Bleaaaaaat”! Hahahaha
I did not know that you are growing hippos in the dugout. 😂
I love your large burn barrel!
I love me some old tractors. Collect case 446s myself. Stout little machines.
easier to cut a hole in the back of the shed to get to the mower
Put in a second set of doors!
if i cut a hole i will see a grain bin in the way
Good job guys
"Hold on to your Jorts" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Awesome video today gentleman praise the Lord. Thank you.
Always something to do on a farm.
Looked like some Water Buffalo at a watering hole 🤣
At my first tool and die shop we used Wax-O-lene to sweep our floors every day. It was waxed sawdust. I loved that stuff.
sounds great
Great video. Love the old iron.
So, that's what the goat says. Always wondered.
I'm like you dad, I just have an issue with throwing away old bolt and nuts and such to save money. I like that you guys do hay from the ditches, frugal thinking, just like saving the old bolts. I'm anxious to see the 4050 at work, I like the older tractors, not that the new ones are bad. Thanks for the video, hope your week is good!
And i thought the machinery shed had a gravel floor.
Glad to see Brian is still a member of the sound gaurd mafia😊
You better get a massive big shed built for Brian's acquisitions for older farm machinery. Have entry from both ends for easy storage .
Face hole. I Crack up and Cole never gets it. Damn youngins
Wow awesome video Brian I hope you are doing well and Cole you always make me laugh I always enjoy watching your video Rosa
The longer the extension the weaker the driver gets. I thought you were tinkeling indoors to get on Big Daddy's nerves. My dad had second and third reuse bins. When you used "new" he said "was there nothing in the bins ?" Ditch bales are like stolen cookies, it tastes better. As well it makes the property look better maintained. See them black mooes crowd the shade and hit the pool. Good video. Pax.
Amazing video. Y'all both did an awesome job. thank you both
I have always seen the word for the spoken sheep noise as “Bleep”
These machines work with ease and bring great benefits to agriculture
Kudos on the 4050 guys👍🏻
Well it’s a catch 22 with those grasshoppers and mowing the ditches. I personally like the fall and winter but I don’t work outside. So I’d probably switch spring and fall if I did 😂
Goats actually say "maaaaa" 🐐😁
Lol come on guys I hooks that same disc mower up every year by myself in less than thirty minutes 😂love watching you two wife does also 👍
"Hold onto your jorts!" 😂😂😂
Glad someone liked that 😂
I was actually glad you showed some ditch mowing. It must be a lot easier now compared to back in the 70's and 80's and before. People used to drive the back roads and dump so much stuff compared to now, likely still find tires but, it used to be stoves, refrigerators, you name it! It was kind of fun to see you at the controls of an older tractor. Hope you get a whole load out of those ditches.
Add a door to the other end of the building. Easier to enter / exit, free day light and fresh air on hot days. Exactly what my son says we need to do!
there is a grain bin on the other end
The 4050 was my roller harrow tractor…….I cultivated our alfalfa seed fields…..Nothing wrong with “old equipment….The best!!!
Nice one Cole always enjoy you're videos listing to you and Brian always puts a smile on my face Hope those grasshopper don't get into you're crops I've just seeing a farmer in Canada that had a whole 90 acres of corn completely destroyed with them it's unbelievably the damage they can do
Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮
I mowed a field on my father’s hobby farm one afternoon and came back that evening. I walked through the woods and came out into the field and saw like fifty turkeys feeding on grasshoppers. Well turkeys went one way and I went the other way. They scared me something awful. Turkeys will feast on those grasshoppers most especially after you mow. Cole. Build up some flocks around there. Well. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. God Bless !
Watch (The biggest little farm documentary)
He's right about the thank you. In scouts we used it as a confirmation you are receiving and have control of a knife. I now use it for tools and materials at work.
thanks
The equipment shuffle I love it
Lots of doin's today !
Good work !
I hope the boss puts a little something extra in your pay envelope this week for all your hard work. 😉👍
Didn’t know bales from roadside but it’ll Fred a couple. 🚜🚜🚜👍👍👍
What ! Is Brian trying to compete with A Few Acres Farm (youtube channel) in using old tractors. I like it.
That was grins!! Nice to see how well you two work together. I love it!! Lotsa lotsa jobs like that to make a farm work. Some kinda fall by the wayside some times but have to be caught up later. I hadn't considered making use of ditch greens. Purty smart! Thanks again Cole for taking us all along with you. I know I certainly enjoyed the trip.
Another very interesting video Thank you
I always love to see your father & son activities. Treasure the moments. Thanks for sharing as always.
Always a great video.
Why don't farmers put doors in each end of their implement sheds? If they did, they'd only have to move half of the implements to get to the buried ones.
I asked my husband that once. Ohhh did I get a look😅.
Maybe they don’t have enough space on the other end
Saved me sayin it.
My grandfather was a farmer and had plenty of room for doors at both ends, but instead spent half the day digging out implements in the back of the shed.@@Kim-TexasHobbyFarmer
There’s a grain bin at the other end
Good morning, everyone.. Brian hope your elbow is doing much better. These are actual numbers from the State of Oregon (Eastside area) during drought of 2022.- If you had 6/7 Grasshoppers per square yard, across 10 acres, you have enough grasshoppers that eat as much forage as a full grown cow. If you had 17 grasshoppers per square yard, across 40 acres, they're eating a ton of forage per day. 🦗🦗🦗🦗
😮
I have seen grass hoppers strip weeds in just a day and it was not a drought we caught as many as could gave to the chickens
Good morning and thank you for your response. My face would be that of a worried Emoji- Have a great day!!!@@debinbc
Good morning and thank you for your response. Absolutely, I agree with you on that statement. I see rain or irrigation suppressing them and when land is parched you see a lot more .@@waynejones5239
The guy has a bobcat attachment for everything 😂
haha pretty much
Cool Red tractor Brian. When my Brother gets his deisle engine shop, he wants to get an old tractor that's just the shell, to put at his shop.
As I learned on TH-cam...always open the fill hole before opening the drain hole...mechanics 101
I love the sound and look of the 4050. Got the deck done yet? Have you heard that song: "Rich Men North Of Richmond" by Oliver Anthony?
We've got a Vermeer M8050 with the quick hitch system. Put the bar on the 3 pt and drop one side, back up, raise that side back up, hook up the 3rd arm and PTO and you're ready to mow.
Hi Brian, Cole! Wanted to ask if possible to prepay/order Sonne Beef. Lord knows NYS is not known for its fresh off the farm beef. 😅
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
The 4050 tractor you dad got seems to be a nice unit yet. You will get good use out of it.
Mowing ditches. Been there done that. Memories. You will get some hay from the ditches I am sure.
Good show Cole throwing the old cutter blades away. When they are done , they are done. Bye.
My family saved tons of stuff like that and when they had the farm sale we threw tons of small items away. Memories.
You are keeping busy with lots of maintenance jobs. Like they sweeper you have for the big sheds concrete floor. Does a good job. Neat.
About it I guess. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. Take care and be safe.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
I just love choice words, I have a whole vocabulary of choice words, they come out after I smash a finger, lol.
Hey Cole it looked like the water helped alot, less dust, thanks for your work. 😊
Great video as always..😃
“Freshly used nut and bolt bin” 😂
An enjoyable video. Thanks guys and have a awesome week ahead
I like the Deere that’s hooked up to the scraper!👍😊
thanks
Thanks for the video !
Love your new Tractor
Brand new KHUHN hat and putting old parts on the cutter 🤭
Nice addition to the farm
You guys are fun to watch! I should have been a farmer. I wish my dad would have gave a crap like yours. Good family!
Count me in for a box of fine Angus beef
Me too@
Awsome content 👌 thank-you
That bucket flip at the intro was something special.
thanks
4040 quad range what I grew up in. They are good old tractors.
Those cows took your advice!
I have a nice spot under cover for that Farmall just sitting in the weather! LOL Nice video
8" is just right.
Great content. Thanks guys.
That's a sweet tractor, I grew up on a 4240. My boss bought a new 4250 turbo charged my last yr before i went into marines, that was in 88. I digress, Cole your spoiled, love the old iron.
Simper Fi man, you went in during the end of my time in. You likely had the same cultural shock I did, had to love it though.
Yeah I got to see the gulf War up close, Charlie Co 3rd tanks.
@@fasteddy3425 Had some good buddies that were tankers. Part of me will always feel guilty about not going back in, my third kid was on the way and, it tore me up to not do what I had been trained to do and stay back in the states. It was a hard time for me, it still bothers me.
Thank ya'll for your service to 🇺🇸 !
A door on each end of the machine shed could make life a little easier.
Thanks.
except for the grain bin next to the other end of the shed
@@briansonne814
OOPS !
Great vid! You guys are so dang enjoyable!
Thanks for another awesome video always enjoy watching
Good Life , you won the Farm Life Lottery
thx for sharing
Thanks
We have big grasshoppers here in Florida, they are about 4 inches long, fat and yellow. They hatch as little black bugs and there are hundreds from each nest. They can clear a garden or field in a short time. Nothing kills them unless you pinch them in to or step on them. Birds will not even eat them.
That’s the kind of mower we used to cut hay with. My daddy saved every old blade. We bought a new set at the beginning of each cutting season we’d turn them over about half way through.
