Best line of the video; “ANDY! I have a heated seat!” Marty the Red Baron is the best!
The things that a man will do to his own machine to get a heated seat... 🤣
Good video good to see y'all
But I hope u get er figured and have a great rest of harvest. Good luck gentleman
Hard working farmers, no doubt about it. Tough few day, blue skies, good beans and high yields heading your way...and less breakdowns too!!!
At least it did not catch on fire. I'd say that's the worst thing could happen to a combine.
You're right, but you'd at least get a full replacement if that happened.
Like a drone pass is needed to inspect/sonar a field prior to harvesting
Those harvest daysbthat run deep into the night are stressful. As a semi driver i was often among the last to come off the field. I then had a load for when the elevator opened in the morning. I sometimes slept in line at the elevator.
I have no knowledge about combines but we have big John Deere silage choppers do work here. Metal detectors are standard on foragers of all brands.
Hey check the spread it looks like it could be throwing it up against the standing crop
Hate to think that steel bar was sabotage, but it showed up since planting. Also had so many other farmers with same issues on same day. I don’t believe in coincidence. Also I just realized the resemblance between Marty and Sam the eagle on Muppets. 😜. Here’s hoping for better days ahead.
We had some tile ran two years ago. It could've just been missed or the disk ripper pulled it up last fall. Something you just don't see until it's too late.
It wasn't just the bar. You'll never convince anyone lol
Good morning
I feel if you like it, it would be a good time to trade! I know it’s not the plan, but in farming things can change on a dime! Good luck!
just trade for it Andy
For a break down like this in the UK we would look to our insurer to cover the full cost of the repair. Its not a break down caused by wear and tear but by a foreign object. Guess its down to your policy but insurance costs enough every year you should make a claim for sure. My heart goes out to you but I'm glad you could get a replacement so quickly.
That’s actually surprising to hear. I’m not sure if US insurance policy’s would cover something like that. And a lot of times when a farmer does make a larger claim they’ll likely get dropped afterwards anyways
The cost of insurance, the next year would increase for sure but it's such a large repair cost it would be worth it otherwise your cash flow is going to be smashed. Hope you get it sorted soon, we'll pray for you tonight
better luck!
I think katie needs to run the x9. Think she's gotten more done in the 670 than the x9
It's hard for the X9 to be productive when it's either plugged or broken 🤣
You guys farm around Tower Hill? I grew up not far from there
That heated seat might be all it takes to keep the 1100.
This is too much combine for us to have in corn. The 1100 is also about $130,000 more expensive than our 1000 model, so I don't think that trade is happening, even if it would be fun.
@@aTrippyFarmer WOW, what a difference. I guess you can always buy him one of those heated seat cushions that plugs into a power socket. Haha
Do you, Katie or you dad ever do any power shut downs to actually see how the combines are working? Or do they just drive?
Personally, I would never shut off the separating system while it is full of material. That is asking for trouble, regardless of what other people say. You can tell everything that you need to know by looking in the grain tank and behind the combine, which is what we do.
@@aTrippyFarmer really a good way to see where your loses are and gives a good idea of what settings to adjust for maximum efficiency. Jd equipment plus app tells you how to do it. Should try it. I did a few on the weekend and found I wasn’t getting a full thresh on beans. Showed me what to adjust. Sloans even have a bunch of videos on doing it. 👍🏻
@@BGFKevin I believe you, just always been told to get the machine empty before shutting it off. I guess the worse thing that could happen is breaking a belt!
@@aTrippyFarmerit is quite literally in the manual and is a certain way to do it. Does not hurt anything it is actually recommended
Isn't this repair covered under the new combine warranty?
It doesn't have a warranty, and a warranty wouldn't cover damage from an object.
Hi newsub here from the Uk, been watching a few of your vids, great content. Does anyone over your way offer a service where they fly a drone over your fields to make sure they are safe to harvest? Cheers!
$600 an hour i figure to rent the x9, plus repair bill on x9, I think that would be stressful.
Oh no you're too high on the rent. It's actually pretty fair. I was just being dramatic.
Not much dust coming offnthe beams.
In Europe we have problem with people hanging bolts or wire on corn cobs. They do that with malicious intent to cause as much damage as possible to forage equipment.
They usually do that because they moved over from town to village expecting peace and quiet..
Never heard of that before, but not that surprised. Worst part is the "damage" it will do to livestock if it actually runs through the machine. 🙁
@@danishpuma it happens in Poland on yearly basis. Earliest report I found was from 2019. Bolts had such force they went through machine and shattered windows in tractor. Noone was harmed but machine sustained expensive damage
🖖
I keep wondering when it became ok to put a product out there when it's not ready for prime time? It must have been when Microsoft would put out software and then put out a update every othe day, it seems like. Now companies like Deere put out a 100 of thousand dollars machine than doesn't do as well as a older version does. It seems like everything is going that way.
Oh crap,, nothing like combining beans for nothing until this is paid for
Hopefully insurance will help
Welcome to Juan Duure !!! Cheep ! Cheep ! Mutha Fockers ! instead of steel weldments ,,,they use Cheep cast iron ! if It was steel , 4 hours cutting , grinding , and welding , back in buisness !!!!!!!! I have no idea the price of a rotor , which isn't even available , or the in and out labor ?
a lazy boy massage chair is about 1000$ to 3000$
A good dealer would just let you run that machine not rent it.
Sorry but you are completely wrong. Why would they let us run a rapidly depreciating machine for free?
@@aTrippyFarmeri guess probably not since you didn’t buy it new but if your x9 was brand new yet with warranty then i could see that.
@@northeastnebraskafarming117 oh I agree. If it had full warranty, most guys would expect a free one.
Woooo! Heard you say Mass a few times must mean your family is Catholic?
Nothing breaks down as much as Deere
Oh and
Nothing is as expensive to run as Deere
These x9 just are not worth it. Period. Those things are junk. So many problems. Farmer up here. Has 12 of then by end of harvest 3 were operational
How does sucking up a boulder translate in to the combines fault? That’s prob when the 3 tines were broke off on the feeder.
I don't know. These things are the real deal when they are running. It is honestly incredible to watch it lap the S670.
“I have a heated seat now”.
Lol, that’s great.
