How miserable do you have to be to hate a beautiful little home style that is also helping keep elderly family near by instead of a cold home with strangers.

I live in a trailer park in B.C. with my tiny and someone called the city on me for not having proper paper work to park there even though they had no idea if I did or not. The city came out and I was fine. Never did find out who called. Likely someone called Karen!!!

I have a refrigerator magnet with 2 dogs & the caption "People are Crazy". Neighbors who don't like tiny homes which in no way shape or form impact them & complain anyway, causing someone to move make no sense to me. But they will always exist. And I appreciate that this woman talked about the difficulty she ran into with finding a parking spot. I hope she doesn't have to move but I know if she does she'll be fine. Beautiful home!!

I think it comes down to some people feeling the need to be in control of everything around them.
I think the people that complain are jealous that someone else has figured it out.
I think the people who complain are ignorant, close-minded, unempathetic, and live in a constant state of fear. Sad, really.
I think you are were very brave to go and meet the farmer who complained about you being on the land.
I hope you manage to resolve you issue and find a wonderful place to live.

Good for you Cathy for confronting these whiny people. It is so unfortunate that some folks just can’t allow people freedoms and happiness. Tiny houses are the way of the future in part to save our planet. I wish you all the best in your new location. Your home is lovely and I cannot wait to build my own tiny house someday.
I love the bamboo ceiling, all the woods especially the floor❤️ warm and cozy. I hope by this time she already found a long term place to rent for her Tiny Home❤️🏡those who complained are just sad sad people.

this is why i am saving up to buy land first and than put my tiny house on the land. and before the land purchase i will be getting an official signed notice of "tiny home is allowed here" and copy and laminate it to give to my neighbors before they Karen .

She is my kind of woman, I wish tiny homes had been a thing when my girls where grown. Unfortunately, I was in the Midwest so never considered a single wide trailer due to tornados.
I did down size at 74 to an ADU which could be smaller but was build on a daughters property so will be theirs one day. It's been over 7 yrs. and one of the best decisions ever. For the sense of community a tiny house village would be perfect but not an option here. We older women should never be afraid of making big changes. Just takes a positive attitude!

I was hoping by the end of her story, Sir Grumpy would have come around & left her 🌹 with a 📝 saying sure, I'd like to see the house and eventually inviting her out to eat or having a small picnic just there on her deck.

When she confronted the nasty neighbour, she should have pointed to his run-down house and trailer and offered to recommend her carpenter to help him with his 'renovation projects'. 😂

It's very nice! I luv the idea of tiny living. In the future I aspire to downsize. But I have pet(s) so I will always need a bit more space. My pets are my everything!

Those neighbors need to mind their own business. I can't stand bullies and nosey neighbors.... the worst. It's good you confronted him, but it sounds like he shouldn't be complaining because of his own lifestyle.

I also just recently had to move because of a neighbor complaining! But I do live in a little old fixer upper camper lol. Still it's a shame someone can hate another's lifestyle hard enough to ruin their current living situation. My neighbors who talked to me loved me! Oh well though, I have an attitude similar to hers, all happens for a reason and every little thing is gonna be alright

Suggestion for this lovely lady (or anyone contemplating putting their tiny somewhere) ...next time you move somewhere, go an meet all the neighbours, maybe along with the property owner, tell them what you are doing, and invite them to come and see your tiny (with masks on, of course!) Or do up a page with your story and colour photos of the inside of your tiny to give to each of them so they understand you and know you. Then they are less likely to be "anti tinies." It's a bit of effort, but less than having to move your house frequently. Good luck to this tinh-home owner. What lovely enthusiasm!

That is a real tiny home. So many have been getting the size of a real homes. Bigger than small homes. She has freedom to not have big bill so can do what she wants.

I live in Australia in a town that is predominantly white middle to upper class retirees and now due to covid professional families and couples. Lots of construction happening to build homes because the demand is high. We can’t and won’t afford to buy here but we have been lucky enough to build a granny flat in front of mums. Mum also converted her ground floor garage into a flat top. So there is 3 separate dwellings on our suburban block and no problems. Both sides neighbours have converted their ground floor dead areas into flats. This will become more common in this market.

Beautiful home, worst part of the story is that divorce occurred. Of course unless worse case situations happened. Growing older unhappy, or without a spouse, healthy of course seems challenging.

Incredible Tiny Homes, Newport, TN has lots with affordable lot rent. They are a great company with views of the Smokey Mountain close to entry of Smokey Mountain National park.
