I'm curious why nobody talks about DGN refusing to say the names of the discs being thrown. Has nobody been able to recognize what this does to the value of player sponsorships? Why would any manufacturer pay any money for them to spend their time on camera with the commentary saying "he's throwing an overstable midrange". They are actively damaging the sport by killing the ability for players to get paid. Sure, lots of us know when they say "Calvin is throwing his favorite fairway driver" that they are referring to an Eagle - but Innova pays Calvin because of the number of times "Eagle" is said on coverage. Being primarily an Innova guy myself, and having been around for 10 years, I know a lot of the Discraft stuff... but unless they are throwing the same stuff as Michael Johanson, I have no idea what they are throwing and selling today. Sure, I'll recognize the names of a lot, but no idea what's being thrown in what situation - so all the money they give to McBeth and Barella is pretty much wated on me - unless I happen to come across a yellow Z Luna and figure out out to pump it out 400'. Clearly there's also the Discraft "Overstable Approach Disc" - which I have to guess is a Zone... but unless they're all rockin' a flock of Meteors, I'd have no clue. The point is - DGN is KILLING the value any manufacturer would get from paying high dollars for top end pros. Seems like Jussi Meresmaa is the only person who hasn't recognized yet that this is happening. I see lots of ads for Clash Discs and Lonestar discs - but couldn't ever have a clue what the pros are throwing or in what situation - even when they spend the entire event on the lead card.
Agreed...miss the days when Ian would ID what they were thorwing. I watch Jomez for Lead card coverage to ID what they are throwing, as it gives me context as I watch the results of their throws.
Dudes, it is IN the sponsor manufacturer's contract -- for now. They PAY to not mention other manufacturers. The simplest way for DGN to comply, is to train them not to mention ANY manufacturer's disc during live play.
Good point. It’s so dumb and shortsighted. The disc companies are what keep the pro scene afloat, full stop. Why the tour doesn’t want to reward them for their players making lead cards… I’ll never understand. I’ve been watching pro bowling lately and the pba seems to actually understand where their bread is buttered. They have no problem shouting out the ball names / explaining to fans what they do and what they are made of. They have even shifted their league series to be brand based teams for this year.

A small little correction that I know annoys all us Europeans. Corey Ellis is not a former "European champ", nor has he ever been or ever will be. European Open is not the European Championship. Dennis Augustsson is the current European Champ, Niklas Anttila and Simon Lizotte are former European Champs.
Innova's putter line-up could use some freshening up. They work on a shallow putting putter with KJ and a nasty throwing putter or two with Issac's name attached. That'd be sick
I saw Isaac's car in front of gateways HQ the other day on my way to work. Isaac bringing back gateway? Super soft wizards making their way back to favorite putter among the casuals? Let's find out...
The fact that people think Discmania can't afford Isaac also is mindblowing. They literally let Eagle and Simon walk and replaced them with Gannon... Alden isn't on the same level. They got the money, look at Jussi's money. They also let Perkins walk and Montgomery is probably moving to a Avery type role.
It's not that they cannot afford it. Discmania is now part of House of Discs (Lat 64, Dynamic Discs, Westside, Kastaplast, Discmania, & Huk Lab), owned by venture capitalists.
I don’t know a lot about the business side of disc golf but I just always find it funny when people say a company has bad discs while also saying the guy throwing them has back to back world titles 😂
I don't see Issac going to Discmania. I'm sure he wants to go somewhere where he is "the star" so to speak (no pun intended with Prodigy lol) and to not be just another on the lineup being overshadowed by someone "bigger". I think he would just get overshadowed by Gannon if he went to Discmania, get overshadowed by Simon and Eagle if he went to MVP, Discraft just has a stacked lineup in general, get overshadowed by Ricky on DD, so i think Innova would be the only logical option if they're willing to pay what he wants. Who knows 🤷♂️.
I agree. Innova has the money, and even though they are shy to give players big contracts, Isaac is a 2 time and that's 100% Innova's style. They'll give him a solid offer.
Being under HoD, I think Discmania can pay Isaac and he should be the second highest paid player behind Gannon. I could argue he should be tied since he's a 2x World Champ. That said, it's HoD. They're making good discs but are charging way too much for them. I won't give them my money. Discraft should push hard to sign him to get more young people buying their discs. McBeth, Pierce, Aderhold, Ellis, and Dickerson have been underperforming overall while AB and Missy are holding up the banner. Prodigy and LSD are on their way out. I can't imagine a scenario that they stick around another 2 years and any investor funding them will be throwing money away. There are so many brands to compete with and poor treatment of pro players cannot be ignored. As cool as it would be to see Isaac throw MVP again, I don't know if he'll push the needle for MVP given the hype that Simon brought and the high quality discs that they make.
According to Jomez, Nikko was throwing a lot of Innova at USDGC 🤷🏻♂️ kinda odd too considering he was only wearing Sacred Discs apparel at USDGC and NOTHING Lone Star Discs.
I haven't said this about any other pro, but Isaac is going to Innova. They've been saving their pennies for years and years just for a signing like this. They WILL pony up for Isaac. Will it be 1 million a year x 10 years? No.. those days are over (for now), but it will be big, nonetheless.
Couldn't be that Prodigy did a black friday sale for something like.....maybe black friday. But hey, don't stop the irrational prodigy hate. Makes it easy to know to discount your opinion.
No way that’s gonna happen, Anttila is massive for their European market. Not to mention literally the 5th ranked pro in the world currently. And Klein is also in the top 15 I believe.
Gosh, I HOPE I.R. leaves Prodigy. I've been waiting to buy an I.R. disc but haven't cause I simply just don't like Prodigy disc. Just not a fan of the plastic and their naming convention.
I produced the second most watched video on the DGPT TH-cam channel. Hint, it’s not a disc golf video, and didn’t even get a thank you. Don’t feel bad. The DGPT is doomed for failure due to their lack of communication and vision.
Discraft team is too deep to add another, and MVP seems to be set with James C, Simon, and Egale. DIscmania is the least likely. Innova Sky team is deep also. If the money is right, I can see Isaac to Gateway.
I have 2 that I found without phone numbers like....a year and some change ago. They looked brand new. I haven't thrown them (too gummy), but holy crap, they get really chalky and cloudy just sitting in climate controlled storage (in house on a rack)
Prodigy discs are always on discount. Always. I only throw one disc from Prodigy. Their discs are BORING. I dont care if they have good discs, they have no marketing whatsoever. I dont know how they can sign any player. "My signature disc the D1". Branding is important. Prodigy needs to just focus on baskets and stop making discs. They had their time, but its over.
Didn't like how he kinda didn't really give them props or gratitude but kinda fishing he wanted to change. Players want to take take but not really give the love back to the sponsors. Beware next sponsor. If you're sponsored every podcast you should wear it as well as mention it any public function.

Yeah this is one of the dumbest things I noticed they started doing.
It's wild to think Isaac used to be sponsored by MVP
When?
are we sure?
@@JamesG761 He was with MVP before Prodigy
@@MA4King Cheers
He was prodigy originally then left for MVP for one season(I believe)and came back.

“nor has he ever been or ever will be”. Relaxxxx, fella

Isaac to MVP 🔥
Innova's putter line-up could use some freshening up. They work on a shallow putting putter with KJ and a nasty throwing putter or two with Issac's name attached. That'd be sick
great idea
Finally!! Issac and Ezra have made it extremely difficult to embrace the idea that Prodigy discs are not worthy.
I saw Isaac's car in front of gateways HQ the other day on my way to work. Isaac bringing back gateway? Super soft wizards making their way back to favorite putter among the casuals? Let's find out...
Would be amazing
This doesn't make any sense. He got married like 3 days ago, so no chance he's visiting any manufacturer HQ rn.
The fact that people think Discmania can't afford Isaac also is mindblowing. They literally let Eagle and Simon walk and replaced them with Gannon... Alden isn't on the same level. You have no idea how any of this works 😂
It’s not 2022 anymore
I know I love your coverage. Keep it up
Nice work fellas. Good content 🤙
5:35 I know for a fact this is wrong.
Interesting content but no need to fill the gaps with swear words. That cheapens the smartness of your solid work and journalistic delivery.
Isaak to innova you heard it here first
What video did you get the highlights at the beginning of Isaac playing northtown DGC? I’d like to watch that video!
Not sure what course that is but I believe it’s Bodanaza’s channel or it’s from the Prodigy channel
Love that bodanza when you said gannons best friend

Isaac definitely deserves a top 5 contract on tour. He’s a 2 time world champ
I don’t think he moves discs like that. He needs more hype behind him, 2x or not.
Leaves Prodigy... shocked peekaboo face.jpg
clickbait ass title man...
Dude is a fucking clown. Literally what’s wrong with media.
Come on, we all know he’s signing with Discmania. If he doesn’t I’ll be absolutely shocked.
Your title says Isaac leaving Prodigy, but I just see speculation.
prodigy cant afford a back to back world champ. plain and simple.
For some reason, I thought with Isaac. Discraft. So. Ezra to Innova.
Awfully constructed comment.

Nice report, J!
Isaac signature Essence!
Discraft looking for more world champ sales
he is gonna reunite with his friends at Discmania 👌
I’m saying Isaac to Innova.
Historicaly, Innova hasn't paid anything close to what Prodigy and others have and contenue to pay top professionals.
I WANT to buy prodigy discs. Will I buy any prodigy discs? Probably not.
Why?
Feel sorry for you. I throw an open bag and can say they have quite a few amazing molds like D3, PA3, A2. Even Buhr misses his PA3
They make solid stuff. Discmania just copied the PA3 for him with his new putter.
@@plainfieldspineandrehabA3 is golden for me, tried others, even got other people throwing it over zones
Buy an H5, nobody else makes that disc. Buy any other disc in their catalog from another company.

Isaac signed my Discmania disc at NADGT. Just Sayin'.

Prodigy will eventually just be Cale.
