Honestly I really love the quicker, smaller paintings because that's when your loose technique really shines. But I also really love the bigger, longer painting videos because it helps with me tackling big projects and the motivation. But my absolute favourite thing is your commentary and the advice you give, so honestly as long as you keep doing voice overs I'm happy :))
Love that laid back approach of just talking about the process of painting, very interesting stuff to hear about your technique and decision making even after years of painting! Would like to see more of the quicker paintings for sure! 🙌🏻
About upload consistency/ambition: My favorite part about your content is the commentary (and the accompanying footage is just so good). Your perspective challenges my ideas at a high level, and I have already learned so much from you. As a fan, I am very happy to be patient as you cook up ambitious work. I love your videos whether they are in my feed monthly or 3 times a year, so create what you want, but please don't hold your creative work back in order to crank out more videos. Im really interested in the new thing you learn (and can teach us) from paintings that push you. Fantastic watch, thank you
Yes to more videos like this one! I think a combo of both would work well for your channel - not every youtuber has the skills you have that's for sure - so that's your value add here. Keeping the size of your paintings large will give you an egde, if you're painting that large anyway you may as well capture it. (when I say large, I mean this one, the massive one is massive and you probably can't keep it up! but pepper paintings of tis size and complexity in too) I found you through the latest video blow up, and I'm keen on your painting video content, but I may watch the renovation content at some point if I get really into your perspectives on things. You've got a good combo of renos and painting, and keep showing us your face, ppl love that, it makes them feel connected to you
I absolutely love your paintings and your videos. As a college art student myself, you are one of the most helpful painting channels and I love to see how you do your work. Definitely keep doing videos like this!
i actually like to drybrush, and i remember in school the teachers would be mad, because i would take an unprepped canvas, or unpainted cardboard, and just go ham on the dry brushing with the biggest brush, showing the texture of the canvas or cardboard throughout, and while they liked the paintings they were always unhappy with the technique
I love your very large paintings and I would like to see more of them. I also like your smaller paintings as well. I loved your advice about using more paint and build up. Amazing work. :)
That's interesting, as someone who paints I love to listen to musicians talk about how they write songs etc and I find it very relatable to the way I paint.
ahh! i honestly loved watching the painting come together.... second hand painters joy lmfao thanks for the tips on wet on wet and i'll definitely try using wayyyy more paint and see how that goes
I don't know if I am drawn more to watching you paint or listening/absorbing your narrative ~ me thinks it's both. I really dig your lessons and your work. Totally fab🌈!
I love still life paintings right now im in a hermit mode and watching your videos its kinda getting me to the motivation to get out of it, I just watched your latest vid I have to watch it again without a late night brain mode (It's 3am) lol
Great video love your colors. I would love to see sort of a "companion" video, were you go back and show how you mix the colors, how you decide on the the values or temperatures and stuff like that. Often the videos you find on colors are mostly to focused on starting with introduction. But i would love to see it in revearse. Especially from an interesting original painter such as yourself🤞 keep up the good work
I woul like to see a longer video if it is possibile. Love your paintings 😍, you paint with all your body in a great emotional impact. Reminds me my father paintings ❤
The way you explain working with oils is so helpful, in my painting class I struggled a lot with oil painting, specifically developing that nice texture. I would end up blending everything out! I’m excited to see more from you on TH-cam ❤
These kind of videos are perfect if that means you are able to produce more. Anything from you is so valuable because you don’t see anyone with your skill set and your style with videos on TH-cam
i have a 5 x 9 foot painting to do in the following weeks... def gonna apply that opaque paint tip u said since im such a thin painter. loved it as always!
🙌🙌🙌👌🙏🙏🙏thanks for sharing your incredible talent with us, I absolutely loved everything about this video, I feel a binge watch coming on!😅😂 Next level talent! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'd love to see a video of the paint colours you use and which you use to mix your frequently used colours. Also brushes and solvents would be really cool
Yes please make more of these. I think your the few youtube artist who approach painting not like huge chore while still offering insight. I always got worried of painting big or painting ala prima cause all the strictness. Quick question, do you have any tips for doing ala prima with acrylic?
definitely do these smaller paintings…they are very helpful and show just how beautiful this technique is. Could you talk more about the colours? the purpose for the bright underpainting, and the ‘COLOUR TRIAD’ you mention in the title. also colour names as used. Wonderful work. You give VERY good commentary. thanks
I love your work so any way you can share it with the world, I will be ecstatic about. Personally, your tips are very helpful as an oil painter and I am looking forward to hearing more of your expertise
I like this a lot. I'm finding my style where on the one hand, I love loose, textured paintings. And on the other I love a realistic painting. Where does the balance lie for me? Good question... thanks for your vid, much appreciated. It helps me
Your painting is very good to my taste. Recommendations ( again from my sensibility): your picture has the resolution of a 10’ x 10’, use the grand format to do more parallel nuances of brushstrokes here and there, etc. Also make sure you reserve the rich chroma to some chosen spot(s) in the pic, not everywhere like in reality. Best is to dream your own stuff!
Drapery painting was a profession once - the portrait painter whose name was on the work would design and paint the portrait, and the drapery artist would come in to do the clothing - presumably because it was more efficient.
2:42 i meannnn technically Michelangelo, Raphael, and Peter Paul Rubens paid their assistants and apprentices to contribute to their works, but the finished pieces were still attributed solely to the master artist. so ur professor was def on to something
microphone is too close to your mouth....everytime you say "paint" the sound to the letter " P" its a blown out sound , not pleasant ... Amazing work and thanks for sharing!
I'm sorry but I disagree with you @srkiboj1762, like he is the best teacher I’ve could ever listen without being a painting class. Please don’t stop talking 😅

just commenting for the algorithm thank you for your content
I enjoy your channel so much because there is chaos and knowledge, flexibility and control all at once ❤

Love these longer videos that show the actual process that we don’t get from instagram. Keep it up !
Great videos dude - as a musician I find the way you think about painting to be useful in how I think about instruments and songwriting
That's interesting, as someone who paints I love to listen to musicians talk about how they write songs etc and I find it very relatable to the way I paint.
I'm glad you showed this type of painting! Sometimes I get stuck in 'the right way' to paint and I enjoy painting faster as you show!!!❤
ahh! i honestly loved watching the painting come together.... second hand painters joy lmfao

Reminds me my father paintings ❤
I love the longer videos and shorter studies ! So I hope for both ! But if you had to only choose one, I would say longer videos ultimately!
I love u r painting and videos . Small suggestion for months long paintings u can make week progress videos for you tubes .😊
The way you explain working with oils is so helpful, in my painting class I struggled a lot with oil painting, specifically developing that nice texture. I would end up blending everything out! I’m excited to see more from you on TH-cam ❤
I would love more than just 1 a month please! your words and your painting makes me pumped to face me to work harder and longer!
Your demos are great. Thank you!

I really like your approach and attitude toward painting.
I need to incorporate some of this into my own paintings.
Nice job on these videos!

Just found your channel, love your channel. The advice in this video is exactly what I needed to hear.
I'd love to see a video of the paint colours you use and which you use to mix your frequently used colours. Also brushes and solvents would be really cool
Keep making videos. A combination of both. I subscribed. I love your content
Great video! Paint what you want in whatever size you want. I'm sure it will be worth watching.

“Pay someone else to paint it “
😟 me being afraid to ask because it’s a taboo to ask an artist what to paint lol
2:42 i meannnn technically Michelangelo, Raphael, and Peter Paul Rubens paid their assistants and apprentices to contribute to their works, but the finished pieces were still attributed solely to the master artist. so ur professor was def on to something
like, this is like, a good like, painting? but like, I could like, never use that much paint
Like
microphone is too close to your mouth....everytime you say "paint" the sound to the letter " P" its a blown out sound , not pleasant ... Amazing work and thanks for sharing!
You should paint things you invent, will be more alive (your art).
leave it...worst thing to do is second guess yourself and over paint...many a paint has a short life when that is done...leave it. leave it.
Stop saying ‘like’ so much, you sound like a college girl lol
Super 💪
how do I keep correcting? I cant paint over something that isnt dry, are u supposed to scrape it away?
you are very talented, but talk too much ;)
I try
I'm sorry but I disagree with you @srkiboj1762, like he is the best teacher I’ve could ever listen without being a painting class. Please don’t stop talking 😅
