I haven’t heard from him yet and did not knowing is what’s killing me so I really appreciate you for giving me some insight on what to expect for him. He will be okay. Things have changed but I know when I got there back in 08 it took a few days for us to be able to set up and use the phone

It's good to know how the prison systems work and what goes on. It's also helpful to understand what people have been through who have done time. The more we understand each other's life experiences, the better we can get along. 💯💈

I was 17 rolling into OCI walking up and seeing those double fences with Barbwire - there was dude so big they put leg shackles on his hands- and they put us kids out there on the yard with the adults- those were gladiator dorms under 25 dorms-

EDIT: I drove a cab in Gainesville once, and drove a girl back to Lake Butler. Didn’t know it was a prison town but I asked her about it. She said they’re ain’t shit there except the prison, said they just got their first McDonald’s a couple years before.
I'm retired from Florida Department of Corrections and I can honestly tell you "Beware of Lake Butler" They don't play there.
I was there in April 1989, Dorm 05, across from K wing not far from the chow hall and track/soft ball/ weight lifting area and yes gun towers, I Remember one evening during count time I was on my rack top swinging my feet talking trash and dude who I think was N*gger Charlie was outside walking the dorm watching I didn't see him it was dark, well he busted me and from outside he knew exactly what rack I was in asked for my DC and name told me to STFU and he would get with me the next day.
So He worked me all day moving racks and scubing floors when all that was done he said grab a Cadillac and pick up cig. Butts the rest of the day....

I did 2.5 years in a Florida Prison so I am not just talking without some knowledge. Prison rape doesn't happen as much anymore because there is a lot more openly gay people in Prisons willing to do the deed. I'm sure it does still happen just not a lot.

I saw it many times. I saw it in 88 when I came through there going to Lancaster and another time in 94 when I got in a fight at Madison.. I did time on L wing lockup in 88 from Lancaster to to at the main unit of Butler in 88the jars are real they have them behind the counter in intake. I been through South Florida & the Annex in Miami that's where I'm from

I was in NWFRC went through butler, Columbia. Shit was crazy bro, some of the shit you see will never leave your head. Most the time you don’t have to worry about inmates, they will beat your ass for looking the wrong way.

Thank you for explaining to me. I can't find my brother that's been in Sharpe's Brevard county for about 3 years but he was just "moved". And I can't find him. He also has the mentality of a child bc how he was living. Our mother just passed away and he was hurting bad. So I can't find my brother and no one will help me. I feel he would have to go to one of these places especially Butler for mental health. Maybe if you have a moment.. he's my little brother. He just turned 25 and now that I think about it.. he will never have children and it's sad how your life can be taken away just like that. Any input I would appreciate. I found out he was moved and no further info provided also his court docs are locked. Can't open 😢
If he's in a Florida prison go to dc.state.fl.us and click on offender search, then click search all corrections offender database then put his name in. Will tell you what prison he's at
The worse Florida Correctional facility I been to was Charlotte correction I was one of the first bus loads there from 89 til 92. Wild wild West was laidback. Madison Hamilton & the Hamilton Annex was a lil wild Cross City was laidback

Gold jar is definitely not a myth!! They showed us while at the Main unit while sitting on the bench during processing. Clear jar full of golds. That was in 2001
The Gold Jar was from the 1980's crack dealers going to Butler thiinking they were tough, ACI east unit was the original wild wild west.
The camp had a fence down the middle east side for younger jitts west older tougher jitts up to 25 yrs old
They also called it lil Sumter in those days

@@lilpaco8280 nah no free phone calls once you get in DOC custody. Once his phone account is setup then he can make calls. He could have somebody call for him though
Wondering when can an inmate make a call when they get to the reception center
It's been like 10 yrs but I believe u have to wait till u see Classification when they set up your phone list approve or deny your list n setup your code to use the phone it can take a minute (awhile) b4 u can use the phone

You need multiple. They expect you to fuck up a few times. As long as it ain't crazy. Drop dirty a few times or some lil shit u straight for a while. But some big shit u might be done
Why do they call then, "reception " centers? Just curious. I only found put about them, because I just found out about Kristel Maestas, who's in one, for the horrific torture and murder of Cordell Richards. Along with Ronald Bell, who's also serving life. Plus, Renee Lincks, the other monster, who, because she testified against the other two, got 15 years, served 12, and now lives a wonderful life in Homestead, Florida! Just bought an expensive home, etc. She has a sticker on the back of her pickup truck to honor veterans! SHE, along with the other two, horrificly murdered this young man, and he was an Airforce Veteran! She should have had life, as well!

Why would a double lifer be transferred to Central Florida Reception?
Did he get transferred from another prison? I can only think of two reason to make him closer for court appearance or to have him b a worker there
