Questo film, storicamente o no corretto in alcune scene, e' un cazzo di piacere per gli occhi e le orecchie...sono diventato un sassofonista a causa di Bird...un genio epocale avanti nel tempo....come fu Beethoven....come Chopin....questi qui hanno cambiato la lettura emotiva della musica...ma quando sei un genio di questa portata l'universo si prende qualcosa in cambio....ovviamente nessuno ha costretto Bird a diventare un ubriacone...ma comunque e' successo....il totale amore verso qualcosa mette da parte tutto il resto....
This was my favorite scene in the movie. Keith David got his wake up call. He used to be the shit on the horn. Back when Charlie Parker was a little boy. Charlie is a man now. Now, he's the shit. And Keith, you aint got shit on the Bird. Don't throw your horn away. Buy you some Charlie Parker albums and go practice man.
This is ridiculous. The two older players are more or less playing modern jazz, I.e. improvised lines that reflect bebop and Parker’s influence! (You can hear Parker devices as well as phrases that suggest Sonny Stitt, Gene Ammons etc.-even the trumpet player plays a blatant Parker Cliche at 2:46!) This had to have been an inside Joke by the musicians hired to create this scene. What I also find annoying are the depicted antics (all the body English) by the actors “playing” the music. Who coud think a cowboy movie star like Eastwood start to make very serius movies,and very good ones to.
Very end with the GREAT Keith David...nice touch by Eastwood and the writer(s).
