Way WAY back in the late '60s I thought it would be cool to drive an ambulance. Man, people getting out of your way as you're tearing through traffic with flashers & siren going full blast. WHAT A THRILL. Well, that is until October 3rd, 1967. When I got home from school my mother told me that she had heard on the news that there had been an accident on I-83 just south of York, PA. Since York Hospital was only 1/2 mile from our house I sprinted to the hospital in hopes that I would be there to see the ambulances arrive. I didn't wait long when the 1st ambulance arrived. I obviously kept a safe distance from where they unloaded the patient, but I was close enough to see the patient. It was a mangled kid, and just as they were taking him in a 2nd ambulance arrived. This time they unloaded a man. I soon learned that the man was dead. An 8th grader grew up VERY QUICKLY. I will NEVER forget that afternoon. I salute all EMS staff. You are heroes every time you answer a call. I could never do your jobs.
Okay so we’ve got Wildwood moving along at a good clip there right out of the gate. 0:44 - Neptune City with the legacy halogens and actual strobe tubes; always liked that bar. 1:04 - off-roading! Nice. Also that’s a fantastic looking truck. 1:30 - Clifton showing off the... wait, was that a “mechanical” HYPERYELP?? I know it’s emulated, but I’ve _never_ heard that before. I’ve gotta know who makes that. 2:24 - Behold, I require no siren, for I clear intersections with the power of *PHOTONS!* (nice FedSig dual color rotators up top too) 3:17 - another one really moving along. LOL at the “stay-in-your-lane” horns. 4:08 - when one priority tone just isn’t enough... 4:31 - Clifton almost doing its Tokyo Drift impression and showing off their badass siren again. 5:40 - the same guy who designed the Wayne Memorial rig back at 2:24 except it’s somewhere between the year 1997 and 2002, complete with period-correct Whelen pinball machine siren tones (I dig it though). Fix that center Vector light too. 7:48 - there it is again... wait a second, that’s the same scene as the other Deal ambo from 4:08. Man, Deal certainly has an aesthetic. 10:35 - imagine me and you, and you and me...
I’m surprised EMS is allowed to run blue lights in whatever state this is. Especially on SUV’s. Where I’m from, only law enforcement is allowed to run blue lights.
