The "yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" sounds like steam excaping.
Camp is under appreciated in my opinion, though I should say sadly it’s mostly used in a derogatory sense, but when it’s used like this it can be fantastically fun~!
he was drunk, he was hot, you got lucky .... hahahahhaha pricelessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
"Hello, the living room of renowned theatrical director Roger De Bris' elegant Upper East Side townhouse on a sunny Tuesday afternoon in June. Whom may I say is calling?" The best way to answer a call! Hahaha!
The lesbian lighting designer stereotype is hilarious. 🤣 I personally felt called out because of how on the money it was. There are a lot of us who are exactly like this.
This scene makes me laugh out loud repeatedly each time I watch it. The comic timing and extreme exaggeration of true things is flawless. These actors are really on-point.
One of my all time favourite movie scenes. Wonderful acting, timing and editing. Lucky enough to get tickets for the London production with Nathan and Lee Evans.
For some reason the tonal switch when he says "but I think I look more like the CHRYSLER BUILDING" always gets me no matter how many times I've seen this movie
I love some of the changes in this version. The original had Max saying “That dress is you!” but here he says “That building is you!” I think the musical version really tightened up the dialogue, although some changes weren’t as good (like the actor being absolutely terrible, making it comedic, instead of the person playing it straight having to be replaced at the last minute).
Hollywood musicals are great! I've watched a number of them, Bathing Beauty, Moulin Rouge, Hairspray, Chicargo, and of course The Producers. Never one of them disappointed me.
#ThrowbackThursday I haven’t realized when I was younger. But Gary (RIP) and Roger play each other off so good. If they collaborated one more time outside the Producers, I would picture them as Edna and Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray.
LOVE IT!! This scene, and all the characters in it so remind me of the 'old gang', back in the Day. When Camp was dejour. Running like Mad Queens up and down the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, going from one Drag Show to another likewise in Philly..LMAO We kept is Fun, we kept it GAY!..
This is a rinsed out remake of the sublime 1967 version. In the original, Bialystock, Bloom and Ghia all squeeze into a very small lift and the resulting acrobatics is hilarious.
Oh god, when I did singing lessons one of the breathing exercises was to let out your breath while making an s sound I could never do it because it reminded me of this scene and I could never explain to my teacher why this exercise made me lose it
the guy at the beginning of this video (the guy who answers the phone i can't remember his name), was the singing voice of the young hercules(before he got buff) in Disney's Hercules movie.

iammontecristo That would take a ridiculous lot of work to get it right.
iammontecristo *escaping
It was really stupid to add that "yessssssssss" to the script, it looked forced, unfunny and without a point...
I swear that was in the original movie but now I can’t find it?
Did you quote blazing saddles without realising?
May I take your hats, your coats and your swas-ti-kas? Lmao
Miko Mikomiko We just came from this big rally everybody was wearing them.
And "Why didnt u tell me that we still had them on."
-- Well i didnt notice it, you told me to look straight ahead remember?
In the original musical, Max said it was just a joke. Personally I think the rally story was a little more plausible.
Lol that joke aged marvelously in 2020
And Hercules
"...Listen, you broken-down old queen. He was drunk. He was hot. You got lucky! Don't _ever call here again_!"
"Who was that?"
"Wrong number!"
Jackie McCann hhhh
The piano clang when realisation hits. That just makes it
That little hop and back ache cracks me up everytime
yes, we all watched it and heard it. Why remind us again in words? Even the deaf have Subtitles!
I love how he says "roger we're not alone" and moments later reveals that a huge group of people live in that apartment
Excuse me, it’s an elegant upper east side townhouse!
I never thought of that! 😂
The comic timing of these actors and this script make this scene a master class. I love camp when its done this way. Brilliant.
This was the first time I ever liked campy

Are we watching the same thing.... Its okay but
3:19 "Iʻm supposed be the grand duchess Anastasia! but instead I think I look more like the Chrysler Building!" OMFG

Lol
Pumba isn’t in the video
I thought that was the Timonguy XD
My friend showed me this a few years ago & honestly I have no idea how they could even finish this movie without laughing the whole time
They did laugh the whole time.
Mel Brooks movies are so funny, he even leaves the cast breaking "outtakes" in the movie: th-cam.com/video/hYTQ7__NNDI/w-d-xo.html
The funniest send up of gay stereotypes ever created. Mel Brooks is a genius.
And it's not insulting, it's actually engaging and amusing
The original was better....just my opinion
Mel Brooks didn't direct this
@@killustratorand? He wrote it. The satire is in the writing.
@netcurtains The 2005 version of "The Producers" is not a remake. It's a live action adaptation of a musical that's based on the 1967 movie.

Right? I should be offended, but as the girl in high school theatre who did lighting and building/breaking down the set… it’s incredibly on point.
Roger, we're not alone.
Love that line

It always amazes me how the stars in situations like this manage to keep a straight face and not crack up laughing.

there is a shit tone of bloopers from tis movie......and the same goes for eny other movie
