    ur really good man. is this what type of metal u do for a living? our trade is dying. most companies purchase these elbows instead of doing themselves. if they do fabricate these themselves then the plasma does all the layout. our trade is dying its ashame

    The method used is wrong and you only get away with it as the taper of the cone is slight. lines one and 5 are true lengths but 2, 3 and 4 are not and need projecting to line 5 to find their true length. A lot of teachers get things like this wrong as they can get away with it due to there being little to little difference. The first time I tried I made a similar mistake.

      the inner segment lines ( 2,3,4) should be extended to the outer profile lines to achieve true lengths. Otherwise the throat will shrink. Possibly because the 1/5 lines are true lengths this method may still overcome that and 90 degrees is still achieved?....

      You can use 1 is to 10 or 1 is to 100. For example the length is 50mm you multiply it by 10 so the length is =500mm
